      Exactly. When I read 'Sitar Metal', I was afraid the sound of sitar would get lost in the heaviness, as you put it. But these guys have done a tremendous job of maintaining the spacing between the instruments.

      nobody else Eh, kinda. I thought it sounds way more like Lateralus, and was overall better than 10Kdays... Then again 10kDays didn’t stray that far from Lateralus, so I can see why someone relates it to that too.

    • @rossmusic25
      @rossmusic25 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nobody else the new album sounds absolutely nothing like 10,000 Days. Fear Innoculum could only wish to be half as good as 10,000 Days. Not saying it’s anywhere near a bad album tho

    • @rossmusic25

      Nikola Demitri the new album wasn’t better than anything on 10,000 Days imo

    • @nikolademitri731
      @nikolademitri731 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ross Trbojevic hey my dude, you do you! Tbh I love 10kDays, but it’s still probably my 4th in line, if I was forced to rate all their albums from my favorite to least favorite. I’m definitely NOT saying that Finoculum blew 10kD out of the water, far from it! It’s just that after a ton of listens I prefer it as an album more than 10k, and that’s despite liking a couple 10K tracks more than any individual tracks on FI, but I’m more of an album guy, so that’s a big reason why I prefer one over the other, but certainly not the whole reason...
      In my experience, and I’ve noticed this with many people, favorite albums (or songs/artists/etc) often comes down to said albums playing an important part youth, or some pivotal stage in one’s life. That’s a huge part of why Lateralus is by far my favorite Tool album, and Ænema is a strong number two, bc those albums had a huge impact on me as a teen, and Lateralus straight up changed the way I think about the world and started me down a “spiritual” path, as cheesy or cliche as that is.. Point being, that’s largely why I prefer one album to another, etc, as is the case with many other artists/albums I love. If I had to guess, I’m sure the same largely applies to yourself, and perhaps 10kDays was more “important” for you, and that influences what you prefer.
      Either way, this isn’t really that important to me, certainly not a hill I’m gonna die on, and you go right on ahead and prefer whatever you think is best. Believe it or not, I know people who think the Opiate EP is their best album, as odd as that is! Anyway, I digress.. Sorry for the essay, have a good’n!✌️

    • @rossmusic25
      @rossmusic25 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nikola Demitri I liked FI but if I had to rank every album I’d have to say Lateralus, 10,000 Days, Aenima, Fear Innoculum, Undertow, Opiate EP. Lateralus and 10,000 Days were the albums that got me into them

    This has got to be one of the most far-out things I've seen/heard in ages. A perfect fusion of 2 polar opposites in musical styles...I am utterly blown away. The only other time something close to this has occurred was in 1969, when the "Krishna-rock" band called QUINTESSENCE was formed. (Check out their 2nd eponymously-titled album, and listen to the track "Sea of Immortality.") This song and video just knocks me out...I wonder what Ravi would think???

    Sitar sounds out of this world when listened live. Recordings never do justice for this instrument. Our prayers in schools were based on sitar and beleive me none of them liked to end the prayers. It used to be so good. Sitar, santoor , veena and Indian bamboo flute are godly instruments which brings out human emotions and universal sounds.
