English lyrics of the song Patakha Guddi: Yes, the sweet pan (betel leaf) adorns the streets, The thread of a Lahori, flaunting it, the fool dances joyfully, She dances with enthusiasm. O Lord, you are the caretaker, O lush forest dweller, You keep a watchful eye on every street, Maintaining its protection. Oh, think about the shame of people, why do you create trouble? Take the name of God, the name of Sai. Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, The name of God, the name of Sai, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, The honor of God, the grace of God, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. Ali, oh, Ali, oh, She goes, oh, she goes, Ali, Ali, your street, She went, Ali, Ali, Your street went away. Oh, Jugni (female traveler), Firecracker girl, In intoxication, she flies away, Oh, the beautiful streets, Firecracker girl, In intoxication, she flies away, Oh, the beautiful streets. O Lord, you are the caretaker, O lush forest dweller, You keep a watchful eye on every street, Maintaining its protection. Oh, think about the shame of people, why do you create trouble? Take the name of God, the name of Sai. Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, The name of God, the name of Sai, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. I have left the threads on you, I have left the threads on you, I have left the threads on you, I have left the threads on you, You are the pure child of God, the beloved one, You are the cherished one. What the Master has given, He will remove it. Take the name of Ali, And dance on the street with the name of Ali. Dance on the street with the name of Ali. Ali, oh Ali, oh Ali. Take the name of God, the name of Sai, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, The name of God, the name of Sai, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. Jugni (female traveler) is like a pipal (peepal) tree, Everyone worships her, No one can grow her crop, No one can keep her at home. The path is narrow and painful, The leaves are like the rainwater. When the world draws near, The Jugni, being dirty, becomes apparent. Take the name of God, Ali, Ali, The village women go, The name of God, Ali, Ali, Every door, Ali. --- This translation tries to capture the essence of the original lyrics, which blend traditional and modern elements, emphasizing the free-spirited and vibrant nature of the song.
As an Indian, I’ve never heard Indian metal. And I would listen to this all the time Edit: I checked out Bloodywood, my favorite bands of all time!! My favorite song is Gaddar
It isn't so clean in the original video but it is still phenomenal. I think the guitars might disguise some of the noise and Antunes did some clever cleaning up of the original audio.
The blending of their vocals is unreal and they sing incredibly tightly together even down to the vibrato and melismas. This is live and it sounds like it's perfectly aligned with a DAW which it obviously isn't.
Sounds like a similar technique to "white voice" from eastern europe. Maybe you can do it too :) there are some tutorials. Bulgarian choirs are amazing example of sthis type of singing, the effort is never seen on the face, the pressure stays below the chest, they sing with an open throat, like when you call someone far away "Heey!".
If you just did monthly videos of these women set to different arrangements for the rest of your Internet career I would be happy. This is amazing, and they are amazing.
Astonishing how the sisters didn't miss a single beat... they were singing without a single metronome or any other beats apart from snapping their fingers and Andre was able to make a flawless iteration out of this. English lyrics of the song Patakha Guddi:
Yes, the sweet pan (betel leaf) adorns the streets,
The thread of a Lahori, flaunting it, the fool dances joyfully,
She dances with enthusiasm.
O Lord, you are the caretaker,
O lush forest dweller,
You keep a watchful eye on every street,
Maintaining its protection.
Oh, think about the shame of people, why do you create trouble?
Take the name of God, the name of Sai.
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali,
The name of God, the name of Sai,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali,
The honor of God, the grace of God,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali.
Ali, oh, Ali, oh,
She goes, oh, she goes,
Ali, Ali, your street,
She went, Ali, Ali,
Your street went away.
Oh, Jugni (female traveler),
Firecracker girl,
In intoxication, she flies away,
Oh, the beautiful streets,
Firecracker girl,
In intoxication, she flies away,
Oh, the beautiful streets.
O Lord, you are the caretaker,
O lush forest dweller,
You keep a watchful eye on every street,
Maintaining its protection.
Oh, think about the shame of people, why do you create trouble?
Take the name of God, the name of Sai.
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali,
The name of God, the name of Sai,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali.
I have left the threads on you,
I have left the threads on you,
I have left the threads on you,
I have left the threads on you,
You are the pure child of God, the beloved one,
You are the cherished one.
What the Master has given,
He will remove it.
Take the name of Ali,
And dance on the street with the name of Ali.
Dance on the street with the name of Ali.
Ali, oh Ali, oh Ali.
Take the name of God, the name of Sai,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali,
The name of God, the name of Sai,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali.
Jugni (female traveler) is like a pipal (peepal) tree,
Everyone worships her,
No one can grow her crop,
No one can keep her at home.
The path is narrow and painful,
The leaves are like the rainwater.
When the world draws near,
The Jugni, being dirty, becomes apparent.
Take the name of God, Ali, Ali,
The village women go,
The name of God, Ali, Ali,
Every door, Ali.

As an Indian, I’ve never heard Indian metal. And I would listen to this all the time

Bloodywood is Indian Metal
Check the band named Paradigm Shift.
Mute the saint
What are they saying?
Bhayanak Maut have been around since the early 2000s. You can google more indian metal bands there are so many!
The fact they're singing on a news mic and not a studio mic and yet sound so good is proof how good they're with their vocals
It isn't so clean in the original video but it is still phenomenal. I think the guitars might disguise some of the noise and Antunes did some clever cleaning up of the original audio.
Not sure which mic this one is in particular but there’s an interview mic called the electro voice e635 and it’s my favorite for recording vocals
By that logic anyone singing into their phone has a god tier voice
The blending of their vocals is unreal and they sing incredibly tightly together even down to the vibrato and melismas. This is live and it sounds like it's perfectly aligned with a DAW which it obviously isn't.

Sounds like a similar technique to "white voice" from eastern europe. Maybe you can do it too :) there are some tutorials. Bulgarian choirs are amazing example of sthis type of singing, the effort is never seen on the face, the pressure stays below the chest, they sing with an open throat, like when you call someone far away "Heey!".

Both styles of music share the Phrygian and harmonic minor scale, that’s why this works so well.

Phrygian slaps.

The thing is, this is super convincing as a SOAD song. The inflections and style they are singing already match Serj's, so with the instrumentals, it literally sounds like one of their songs covered by ladies.
When a serendipity becomes destiny. Sounds so fucking good
I agree it’s a very eastern vibe of singing.
Serj Tankian the lead singers grandmother was from Punjabi descent. The connection to his roots heavily influenced his singing career

Let me mention they are singing this live not in a studio, completely raw
Into an average wireless mic too. Not some 5k studio mic.
@@DJKuroh Definitely not a low-end mic, but they were so in the pocket it might as well have been a studio take.

I can't stop watching this. When the ladies pick up the pace and you bust into the metal riffs is the best.
You should listen to the Patakha Guddi original from the Hindi movie Highway composed by A R Rahman. Rahman's instrumentation in the song is fantastic.
the male scream in between verses would just put this on the peak of mount Everest.
Most accurate system of a down style song BY FAR. This could've been a track on any of their albums, and it would've been SICK

I've listened to this about a dozen times since yesterday evening. I dig it. 🙂
It makes sense. Serj uses a bunch of Armenian microtonal stuff when he sings
@@42pyroboy The part of Greece I'm from plays very similar music to traditional Armenian and I would disagree with that statement. I think it's more about the beat and the way he wrote the guitar parts.

Indian music is also fking wild, each octave is comprised of several quarter tone notes in addition to the normal 12, and some are not even quarter tones. This results in 23 notes in each octave, and the total number of scales is somewhere on the order of 150 of these 23 note scales.
