Haikyuu had a huge impact worldwide and in Japan in particular, there has been a crazy increase of kids playing the sport in high school clubs, even some players in the national team have read the manga and enjoyed it. The author, Haruichi Furudate, played as a middle blocker back in school and he said he was sad he couldn’t make a living out of it, so he hoped to make people fall in love with the sport through his manga instead. He absolutely succeeded and that’s just beautiful.
Ps. In case you don’t know, “manga” means comic while “anime” means animated cartoon. The author created the manga, then an animation studio made the anime out of it (the cartoon is very faithful to the comic)

On hinata running "from the bathroom" - in one of the earlier episodes, the setter told him to go around the blockers if he can't get through them and he took that very literally. One of the reasons his quicks are so successful throughout the series is because he runs around so much; nobody can tell where he's going to spike.
It's also hilariously ironic because he does have a lot of bathroom troubles as well.

------------there's times when it looks like hinata's jumping like 60 inches on the ground but thats because of the angles of the spikes, haikyuu has a lot of these, both manga and anime, they change the angle of the camera a lot so the spikes dont look boring after you see them like 10 times, or maybe because the animation in season 1 was a little messy sometines(still awesome) usually they put the camera under the player so the jump looks much bigger than it actually are, but hinata has a impressive vertical still, in his first year in high school he was 1,64cm tall, touched 3,33cm, even if his arms only go to 2,10cm when he stick them up

    • @ncl7495

and coach, hinata actually learnd about the block step in season for episode 6 I guess, kageyama(the setter) said to hinata that he's jumps where like "boing boing"(hes terrible at describing things) that means that he didnt put to much power in his jumps, just use velocity and explosion, and then he said to him that the real jumps are the ones that make the sound in the ground like "BAAM", i get that as a description of a block step

It’s exactly like Haikyuu but slightly, very slightly different

Kuroko is like dragon ball + basketball. I like it but I don't think he would like to react to it.

@@SHIR_5 actually i dont agree haha, kuroko has like otherwordly super powers, haikyuu on the other hand while some movements are exagerated and could not be done consitantly in real life most of it is very accurate. Kuroko no basket feels a lot different then reallife basketball haha

@@SHIR_5 I have seen it. They’re both sports anime and the animation is great on both, but I wouldn’t say they’re exactly alike.

If you're gonna keep doing these videos, check out kuroko no basketball. Theres a character there who's main strength is his nutty vert. Guy throws it down from the free throw line at one point.

Naaa but that anime is too far from reality, Haikyuu is cool bc the voleyball matches are realistic, but kuroko is all about weird magic stuff... like... you got a guy who can 100% drain threes even from full court and a guy who can break ankles when he wants to.
