    What's REALLY cool to see in Haikyuu!! is when the other teams get a little more used to this "super quick" and start putting up blocks and actually trying to defend their court, and Hinata has to figure out new ways to get his spikes to land in. It's really cool to see how he can think fast in the air and control the ball better than just slamming it down wherever he wants. Honestly, his REAL "best spikes" happened later in the show, when they played against better teams with better blockers.

    When Hinata is really deeply leaning into his sprint it's normally because he just faked 1 end of the court and is full sprinting to the opposite side of the net. He's got insane athletic ability and there are few people who can keep up with his speed and stamina but, he doesn't have high levels of skill as an individual so he mostly dodges the blocks by out pacing them on the ground as opposed to beating the blockers in air.

    Hinata is actually one of the best jumpers in the series. Since he's so short (about 164cm as of season 4) he has to rely a lot on his speed and jumps. His highest jumping point is measured to be 333cm but he's improved on his jumps since then

  • @marianbri
    @marianbri 3 ปีที่แล้ว +95

    Before he starts improving his jumping in the series, there is a scence where they measure their vertical. They powder their fingers and jump to touch basketball backboard. Hinata measured 333 cm.

    • @jc-tb6me
      @jc-tb6me 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@araara8875 lol the comment said "powder their fingers and jump to touch the backboard". Based on that comment don't you think they might've used their hands instead of heads to measure? The number in yellow(or in the middle) means the number of sets for the match. Usually, volleyball goes to a best of three or best of five sometimes. A volleyball set ends when a team reaches 25 points or under a deuce situation at 24, whoever gets two points first wins. :)

    This is a compilation of teams being hit with the monster quick, FOR THE FIRST TIME. That's the major reason for the "freeze" shown every time. Also, his best jumps, the ones when he's not being pulled around by his momentum, come much later. This story is originally a manga\comic, and the anime hasn't gotten to the point where Hinata figures out how to jump properly. This story is one of my favorites, so it would be awesome if those got analyzed, too, at some point! Thanks for the great reactions to Haikyuu!

    This Anime is definitely not stupid. Not only athletics animations. Different teams, players and their psychology, motivations ,values. Last anime season was just goose bumps for me.
    Like in previous seasons Kōtarō Bokuto answers Kei Tsukishima question about motivations, how he trained, and then in real game saw the difference, and that was the moment he got hooked on volleyball and training hard. How effort and results disconnected by long spans of time connect for him at that moment.
    This is one of those amines that has insane depth towards characters, psychology and how it all comes together to form strong teams.

    As for Haikyuu, I gotta say one thing Ive learned after watching some real volleyball after is that they really did their research on volleyball before animating it. Every position has a lot of great things. The libero is on point with his slides and his "poses", the ace(wing spiker) has the same beautiful form while jumping and the team got some badass serves(both brute force smashes and jump floats). All in all, superb and so glad it introduced me to the sport! :D All that has to happen now is for the Swedish team to get some golds! ;)

    The shadowy moments like the one where the glass is breaking is more like a mental break, normally happens when his team is on the losing side and then they have some sort of revelation that pushes his team forward. Happens usually during their big games against some of the top teams.

      @@doni8174though I think its definitely higher since I’m 174cm and my standing reach is 224cm and my friend is 186 and his standing reach is higher than mine by 20cm, Thus when hinata reaches 333 at 164 might have a standing reach of 200-210 depending on arm extension making him at vert of around 48 inches and since after timeskip, he jumps a head higher which can be 20cm+, hence he reaches at least 353cm. When deducted by my standing reach, which is higher than hinata’s height of 171.4cm, is already higher than 50inches which is a underestimate.

    The scene where the glass shatters is representing their fears. The spikers were afraid of the blocks shutting them down, but they spike through it and shatter that fear. Finally, able to make it through.

    The hit with the glass at about 15:35. This match was in the second season and the first official game they played blue castle Hinata had the last hit and it was blocked. So him shattering the glass in the second season was a redemption for that last point in the first season.

    Hinata's definitely best known for his reflexes and speed, which make his jumps incredibly hard to predict and his spikes even harder to stop. You can't help wishing even the biggest guys in Haikyuu good luck with stopping him, especially if they also have a problem with experience.

    The last clip was Hinata blocking a shot from Ushiwaka, who is know to be really strong like breaking your arms if you want to block or receive them. And he did it out of instinct. He knew it was going to go there and blocked it with one of his hand that they would get the point. You should really watch all seasons of Haikyuu. It is worth it. Especially if you play volleyball and know the details about it. I mean just to mention a few incredible players and their moves: Ushiwaka's strength with his spikes and serves, Oikawa's serves and setting, Bokuto's strength and his emo-mode😂 and of course the iron wall of Aone and his buddies😂😂

    The anime discusses Hinata's jump more in Season 4 (part 1 and 2) - along with Hoshiumi's, who has a similar stature and a more solid jump. I suggest also looking into Lev because of the height difference and the different spiking approach(?) and arm swing.

    Thought I would give a little bit of context as to why Hinata is always running with his center so low. He has crazy good reflexes and speed, and so they use him a a decoy, he's running around the court constantly dragging the blockers with him as they're scared of his quick attacks. He needs to be able to go from one side of the net to the other so that he can also get around the blocks and have a mostly open area of attack.

    It would be really interesting to see your response to full episodes. The general premise is that Hinata (redhead) is athletically gifted but needs to develop his technique where as Kageyama (the setter) is an extremely technically gifted player who needs to work on being a better team player. ( with the skill of both being dialed to 11 since you know it’s anime) So good portions of the show revolve around Hinata learning the actual mechanics of how to better play the game. A response series from someone who actually knows the game would be really neat. As a neat aside High School boys volleyball participation has apparently gone up 25% in Japan since the Manga started publishing

  • @dorkygamer8626
    @dorkygamer8626 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hinata’s whole character revolves around his jump height, quick reflexes, and speed. He runs around super fast for a lot of these before jumping, but it isn’t because he’s coming from super far away. He charges at full speed to get to an open area whenever he can and not give the opponent time to react. And Kageyama, Hinata’s setter for all of these, isn’t one of the best setters at all, really. But he’s incredible at sending sets that take less than half a second to fly to Hinata from anywhere on the court and Hinata closes his eyes and hits them immediately. That’s what’s so powerful about those. Later Kageyama also learns how to use spin to stop the ball right where Hinata jumps so Hinata can open his eyes and angle the shot.
