  • A shot film about DID.
I am sorry if I offend anyone with this short, that is not my intention. I created this short so that people would not think people with DID are dangerous. If I get something wrong please forgive me I did as much research as possible but of course I am human and get things wrong. I know I am missing so much on the subject still because DID is so complected. However, my teacher gave me a time limit so there is only so much that I can fit in while creating a story. For more information on DID here on TH-cam there is some great channels you should check out like "DissociaDID" and "MultiplicityAndMe". I watch them and they explain the matter much better than I ever could. I just tried to make a piece of art that can possibly teach people a little lesson.

We're kind of sad this doesn't have more views, we have DID and it's hard to find good representation. This is great

    We are 30 alters.
Its pretty much the process almost everyone with DID goes through.
    Thank you for this.
    You truly debunked the stigma.
    Thank you so much 😘

I recently (within the past year) discovered I have DID. It's been horribly difficult and my mental health has been getting so bad that i've completely stopped trying to communicate with them. When I say that when This Is Home faded in I cried, i mean i literally sobbed. I don't normally cry (to be honest it happens maybe 3 times a year) but this made me feel a whole lot of emotions. Thank you for making this. I think this has honestly motivated me to start trying again

LOVE the visual representation of the alters and how it switches back to the main actress. Very creative! And the actress playing Norma did a very good job.

Within the first 10 seconds there is something factually incorrect. We do not shatter, we had never formed a personality to begin with. Our brain put up amnesia barriers between the different parts of what would have been our personality we never formed. Good film, just wanted to inform 👍

Thank you for this. We struggled for a long time after realizing that we're a system, especially because of the stigma. It would cause most people if we told them to assume that we're faking or dangerous. Even some of the people closest have assumed both of those things. Why can't people see us? Why can't people hear us? It hurts when people tell you to your face that you're not real, that everything that you're feeling and going through isn't real. Or treating the people that you share a body with that you've formed a bond with, friends and family, that they're dangerous or something that needs to be removed. We've finally found a community and friends among other systems and we're finally happy that we're a system. We're not a mistake, we're not dangerous, we're just scared and want to be loved and accepted.
And to any new systems who are struggling, don't block them out, help each other. Don't lock them away somewhere in your mind. They're just as scared as you are. I promise it'll be worth it to reach out to them if you can.
    -The New Moon System

Ngl nearly cried when This is Home faded in. I also love how much alter representation this has. Most did content only has adult humans that are either good or completely psychotic as alters but this has littles, animals and alters who start off bad but grow and change just like singlets do. 10/10, wish more did content was like this :)

God damnit their fear of their diagnosis and what others would think of them already hurt, then This is Home by Cavetown just grabbed my heart and now I'm crying /pos
I'm not a system, just someone who one of their fixations is DID.
I think this is a very sweet film and I hope other non-systems like me can learn to have a better understanding and.. compassion (can't think of a better word that doesn't imply pity sorry) for them.

Great video! You know it's funny, cavetown triggers our littles so our littles got really excited and watched the second part of your video. It's good to see good DID rep out there. We're also a system if you can't already tell by our comment so far. Lol.
Great video keep up the great content! -Annabelle from the Delayney's Expanse system.

Thank all of you for making this. We’re still on the path to getting proper diagnosis. As host I’m scared of the trauma hidden from me. I wish anyone struggling with this disorder healing and peace. ❤

  • @user-wi3yx3gy2o
    @user-wi3yx3gy2o 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Trauma is not adversity happening to you per se. It is how you experience the adversity happening to you. Many external and internal factors therefore may contribute to the how “extreme” the trauma is, including the frequency of repeated traumas, underlying conditions such as anxiety, autism spectrum disorder may contribute to how extreme or frequent the traumatic experiences are, and may separately contribute to how likely you are to experience dissociation as a coping mechanism. A major factor in the types of trauma that may lead to this disorder include betrayal trauma, shame, and inconsistent behavior on the part of abusers, and the child being attracted to the abuser or firmly trusting the abuser. Also the inability to effectively use fawn, freeze, flight, or fight responses to escape or avoid the abuse. So while some people might have objectively less severe or less frequent adverse experiences the might have sufficient trauma and be sufficiently predisposed to dissociation to develop the deep extensive and frequent dissociative responses sufficient to develop this disorder. Also the “it did not happen to me” denial can contribute to the prevalence of actual alters as opposed to simple dissociative amnesia/repression, no matter how pervasive one’s dissociative amnesia might be.

children don't shatter. All children are plural. People with DID don't get a chance to become singular cause children start to integrate around 8 years old without the kind of trauma we had. That's the difference.
