The moment flowey realises you're not backing down and that you have the souls onside his pathetic noises when attacked to real pain.Flowy knows now he cant toy with you anymore and it's a fight to the death after 1.00 his attacks speed up hes throwing everything at you in a last ditch attempt to kill you and you aren't dying
I always thought the “ow” was just supposed to make him look more creepy yet still cartoonish in a way, as well as RPG enemies having a hurt reaction regardless of the damage they take.
When the music drops, the damage actually nearly doubles! You can see this in speedruns, they save the 12th hit until they drop so they can get in about 700 damage a few seconds faster
@@Keep701 He may be, but the souls are just can be just as diabolical as he was when they want, as seen soon after he "loads his save file". They knew Flowey could do this, but they let him do it to lure him into a false sense of security, just as Flowey did to the player. In other words, he may have outsmarted them, but they outsmarted his outsmarting. (And yes this was a JoJo reference)
What's really strange about Flowely (and maybe this is just me being weird) is that, ironically enough, he's the one who feels the most disturbing to kill. The evil, souless, manical Flowey. Not Toriel, Undyne, Papyrus, or Sans, but Flowey. During this fight, once you drop Flowey defense to 0 and you can actually hurt him, he's already gone batshit insane with his new power and turned into an eldritch abonimation that plain shouldn't exist in the gameworld, and he makes that disturbing grunt sound every time you do slash him. Again, it just plain sounds like something that shouldn't exist, meanwhile he's going apeshit and spitting anything and everything at you in an attempt to kill you. Once you do beat his Omega form, he goes back to being a flower, but he's visibly beaten and scarred, showing battle damage, which not many other characters show unless you're on the Genocide run. Then you have the choice of either sparing or killing him, both feel very disturbing in my eyes. If you kill him, you've only confirmed his stance on "Kill or Be Killed", almost like even in true death, he still somehow wins because you stooped to his level of murder and killed him. And then, he doesn't just fizzle out of existence like the other monsters or characters. You attack, and his face just slowly disappears from the flower. He's the only enemy in the entire game that actually leaves a "corpse" behind, completely drained of his soul and essence. Did I also mention that this is, more less, him having to experience dieing a second time? (After dieing as Asriel). And then you're left there in silence to observe what you did and Flowey's remains until you walk away and end the game. Spare him, and he starts breaking down and fleeing because he simply can't comprehend how you can be nice to him despite every bad thing he has tried to do. At this point, you've have not only foiled his plans, dominated him in his penultimate form on the verge of attaining Godhood, but you shatter him mentally as well. "Kill or Be Killed" was the one rationale he clung to in order to justify his existance after being brought back to life without a soul and the ability to feel anything. You have challenged and disproved Flowey's worldview and his own fucked up rationale of his existence, and he simply can't find any way to comprehend or rationalize this. You've not only dominated him in power, but you have shattered him mentally and completely broken him. Then there's his behavior in the Genocide run. Ironically, he acts more human than a lot of other characters. He spills his guts on his backstory and his previous life, and only slowly comes to realization that he's only in your way and your just going to do away with him just like everyone else you have killed in your path to complete the Genocide run. His body and his voice tremble in fear as he realizes the fate that approaches him. He panics and tries to warn Asgore in the hopes that he might be able to stop you, because Flowey knows he's outpowered and can't hold a candle or a shred of winning to you. He even tried to barter and get on your good side, but to no avail (not like you have a choice at this point because you have already allowed the Fallen Child to taken over). Finally breaking down in fear and begging you to spare him. Nearly every other character accepts their fate when you kill them, and some even try to still see in the good in you despite acting like a complete monster, except for Flowey. He is filled with nothing but panic and fear towards his enevitable demise at the hands of a genocidal child. Maybe I'm weird, but no matter how I look at Flowey and his actions, I can't help but feel pity for the the little flower, despite all the fucked up shit he tried to do.
+Daniel Maniel I could have sworn I've heard that disturbing sound before, like a certain animal makes that noise. I can't recall what, but it doesn't help the situation either way lol.
+Daniel Maniel The grunt of pain sounds like him cursing to me. But I'm kinda childish I guess. The disturbing thing about Final Boss Flowey to me though is sheer and utterly comical attacks. He just rains nukes with his face on them and shoots finger bullets. These things just... Shouldn't be used by a monster like this.
+Daniel Maniel You think if he truly wanted to, he couldn't trap you in an infinite loop? Get real, you're not dominating anyone. He lets you win. Every time. Even giving you cheatcodes to ensure you can't screw the happy ending he wants for you up. That happy ending that involves him getting a taste of what he desperately struggled for only to be reminded that he can never keep it. Flowey is a total bro. Sans is not as kind to you.
+chris c So you're telling me he also "lets" the six human souls disobey him and turn to your side in order to take away his ability to save? Also, this cheat code business is news to me. What the fuck are you talking about?
@@stellarworld8477 yes. but what it's saying is that every monster soul has the power equivalent to a human soul meaning that he CAN hold his true form for as long as he has a monster soul. That's why asriel never goes with you because he'll just turn into flowey. because he has no soul.
Omega Flowey is the only boss that you feel satisfied in using "Fight" on. You've been tortured by this sadistic flower asswipe the entire game, and this is the moment you get to see him get his comeuppance. I don't know what it is that makes me smile so much while I'm killing this guy. The triumphant, anthemic score that is this song, the desperate, rapid way he cycles through his attacks, the weird noises he makes when he gets hit... Something about fighting Omega Flowey just feels... ethically correct, if you can understand that.
My favorite feeling in gaming is empowerment. This fight, the badeline chase, playing as bowser, the last hit of most Kirby bosses, those are what I LIVE for. This goes double for when you're otherwise generally kinda weak for most other things.
That's the Victory Lap, where the situation is, on the surface, completely the same as it was before, but the tables have already finished turning. The antagonist might be powered down, the protagonists might be powered up, or, hey, maybe both, and everything we've believed this whole time has been completely validated, and the only thing left to do is finish the job. (I'd argue Undertale actually pulls off this trick twice, with the second one being, at long last, finally bringing Asriel home to say goodbye.)
Undertale is a proof, that games don't have to have great 1235k graphics to attract people or 100h+ of "open world" gameplay. Everything you need is a great, heartwarming story with lovable characters and great soundtrack. These 4-5 hours were worth more than 1000 hours in other games.
Killerraptor XXL don’t let that idiotic fandom ruin it for you. If some idiot made a cult around the entire internet, that doesn’t mean the entire internet is evil. Most of the fans are weird; undertale isn’t.
GachaJenny Kitty well, that’s only half of it. The other half is filled with good, understanding people that make good theories, good remixes ect., it’s just that half of it kind of ruins it.
People always identify the Finale part with determination, but I don't think so. I think this song is all of the souls coming together to mess up Flowey one last time. It's not one single soul, it's teamwork. You've had the patience to deal with the attacks, the integrity to deal with this and do the right thing even if no one is watching, the justice to bring Flowey down from the horrible things he's done, the perseverance to stick through until the end, the bravery to face a horrible disgusting monstrosity, the kindness to help the others souls be free of Flowey's grasp, and the determination to get through this and not die. That's what I think of when I hear this song.
It could also be the determination that comes from help. If the souls can't actually hurt Flowey yet, they can at least empower you to fight back. Determination can come from anywhere, especially with support.
+GeminiOrion9 (For those who din't understand: He means that Flowey was being sarcastic with the "Ows" in the first phase. then in the 2nd phase he was really meaning the "Ows")
Perseverance will keep you strong. Integrity will help you to be honest. Patience will show you the patterns. Kindness will reveal the good you can accomplish. Justice will lead you down the right path. Bravery will let you fight through the darkness. Determination will keep you alive.
Flowey is such a complex and interesting character to talk about. When he's a flower he can't feel anything. Love, happiness, anger, and that's heart breaking to me. He is just doing this so he can feel emotions again. The entire reason flowey wants them is to become stronger. He forgot what emotions where and didn't remember how much of an impact they had on someones mind. As soon as he had the ability to feel he apologizes for everything only to get turned back into an emotionless flower and that's sad to think about. He maybe evil but if you couldn't feel how to you think you would react? You don't know because your emotions get in the way of the true thought. Emotions are powerful. And damn is this song good. I think flowey is an amazing villan. We need more like him. 😊
Favorite track from the game. Its just extremely fitting - the fast and crazy drums for the chaotic boss you're trying to beat, the sped up and distorted version of "Your Best Friend" on repeat, the bells in the background giving you determination and just reminding you how epic this game is... Omega Flowey is my favorite final boss from the three routes. He's just so crazy and unique, and in the end you can still spare him. The whole experience is just really epic for me. When this song gets stuck in my head I'm always in a good mood.
***** Yeah I know their patterns are predictable... but if you had to dodge a mile-wide meteor that was going to collide smack into the earth centered on you in the next ten seconds, that'd be about what I think would amount that sequence to be. Cause those things are kinda stupidly large in comparison.
+Ice Lizard22 The best way I found to dodge those is stand right in the middle of the 4 bullets and tap left or right repeatedly. Never got hit by them.
I feel like I'm the only one who realizes how emotional this song is. This is the end of a route, the end of a journey, it's the first final boss most of us ever fought in Undertale. The song is arranged beautifully and his theme was a great addition. Just a random thought, maybe his theme is supposed to represent something in there? Maybe Flowey has some of him left inside, even if it is just memories. Stay determined flower boi.
You pretty much nailed it. He needs seven souls to become Asriel again and has six as Photoshop Flowey with the last one having brought itself right to him, so the reason His Theme is used in Finale is because of Flowey's closeness to regaining his true form as the character His Theme belongs to. There is a little bit of Asriel left inside of Flowey, and he's incredibly close to accessing it in the Photoshop fight.
I can't hate Flowey after finding out who he really is because if I were in his place, I'd feel the exact same way. Barely having a life (since Asriel is just a kid) and then having it taken away from a misunderstanding only to be brought back without a soul and trapped in a flower? It's just not fair. I hope that if Hard Mode ever becomes a thing, the ending is saving Asriel from going back to flower form. It doesn't feel right leaving him behind.
Idea for how to save Asriel in future DLC or something: 1. Discover San's passcode in pacifist or neutral [with papyrus not being dead] mode [legendary fartmaster etc.] 2. Play a genocide route and get to Sans. 3. Get to the part where you can spare him. You now have a new option in your spare menu: Password. Say the code. 4. some shit happens and you go back to snowdin with Sans. 5. San's machine resets everything to when you first went to snowdin, but you and Sans [and Chara's soul currently trying to possess Frisk] are unchanged. 6. You and Sans retrieve Chara's soul from Frisk, saving Frisk from genocide. 7. emotional stuff 8. you reset once more with Sans' machine, but to the very begining. You now have Chara's soul in your inventory. 9. Play 'altered pacifist' [changes in dialogue, harder] and break the barrier. 10. Go back to Asriel in the flower patch in the ruins. 11. Give him Chara's soul. yay now everyone is happy and you get an ending where toriel and asgore get back together and you and asriel live together with them edit: and you can fight annoying dog and sans in normal non-genocide mode. annoying dog is harder than sans. sans wont actually kill you though.
I think Finale, much more so than Asgore or Hopes and Dreams, really captures the essence of being a hero in a desperate last stand. It's almost melancholic in a way; this isn't a fight you should be able to win, but you're going to try anyway. It's more subdued orchestration compared to Hopes and Dreams perfectly highlights how alone you are, with a faint glimmer of hope for success.
I think the types of melancholy that Finale and Asgore give off are very different. Finale is more of a what should be hopeless struggle against an impossible task, fighting against a God and persevering despite the circumstances. ASGORE , however, is a more of a orchestration of Asgore's Tragedy. Showing that he doesn't want to do what he's doing, and that he doesn't feel he deserves to live after all he's done. Both are excellent songs, but I think the moods they set are very different
For me, this isn't a glimmer of hope, you and your opponent are now in equal footing. But instead of a battle, its a race. with the only thing in your way is the obstacle. This is your last push
@@neutralplayeroflol5722 exactly You have the immense futile and fear of "what the heck is this thing" with your best nightmare and as the fight continues on it becomes this "I can do this" when it gets to final
I think "Asgore" is more like sad because asgore don't really wanna fight, and like it or not you have to fight him but this is more like the real end so it feels more melancholic and frenetic.
Thomas S. Mettaton: *sitting in the middle of the room* hey~ *somehow extends leg and sticks it out as far as he can and waves it around* Frisk: *gets hit in the head by a robotic leg* owww

It’s still a cool game with a cool sound track. And I wanted the lieks
0:41 you can hear a very faint bell playing his theme in the background, but is quickly swallowed by the main melody. probably represents asriel crying for help
Ya do know.. Flowey is Asriel. Like flowey doesn't control him or anything. When asriel became a Flower and learned the power of reset, be used his power for good. What really amused him was killing, so he became insane
3h2c He lost his soul, so he is not whole, it made him lose all empathy and on top of that he was tortured by boredom for like a million years. I wouldn’t say he was completely in control of his actions
@@semicolon2599 But they didn't actually WANTED to fight, they HAVE TO fight. 'cause you know Asgore broke the frickin mercy option. But i still think that he didn't do this for "no mercy for you" or "no escape for you" , he did this for "i don't deserve any mercy"
i don't give a shit how many people hate this game, this game is a masterpiece and shouldn't be hated just because of its fandom. i mean seriously, when something gets big on the internet, there's bound to be a lot of different people in its fandom.
With real life theory games like Undertale, everyone hates it. Gameplay is the only thing people like in games. When it comes to crazy hard games like Fortinite, everyone loves it. GET A LIFE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAMES LIKE UNDERTALE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN A THIRD PERSON VIEW SHOOTING GAME!!!
By far the most underrated song in the ost. Edit:I know ASGORE may be unrecognized by like 51% of people but, I don't think I would call it underrated, keep in mind I am in no way attempting to discredit the rest of Toby Fox's music, his music (UNDERTALE HomeStuck Deltarune and Earth Bound) he is a amazing musician and I think we can all agree on that.
This game some of the best boss encounters of any RPG I've played Makes you really feel like you are fighting for a future to believe in. . . or you are the villain that needs to be stopped. . .
Yeah, you should refer to yourself as "Totally Badass Ideal Hero TH-cam Commenter" because that's what you are. You leave comments and they're far from just butt jokes or empty phrases. They're your sincere opinion, and also show a lot about you. YOU, my friend, are destined for greatness. To glory and beyond! For Narn- but oh: Though your writing and your name sound like they're made in different points in time (your username sounds rosy and innocent when your comments are full of stoic ellipses). You must have been at least marginally more joyful in the past?
Wretched Bastard I've been around for a while, yeah. I don't really think of myself as anything other than fan who likes to comment on videos, hence the name.~
I see, I see... By nature, you are a combination of ordinary and cutesy with a very noticeable streak of "idk man i just like stuff. . . that's all there is to it. i'd really like to suggest not making the situation even more awkward than it already is, but that might come off as kind of rude . . . so i'm just gonna ride with it until you decide to stop." Thanks for elucidating your entry on my book of life. Here's your heaven reservation card (don't lose it). This entire encounter really hasn't led to anything of importance, and wasn't intended to be all that meaningful. I'm sorry. *Wretched Bastard ran away*
God I loved this boss fight. It starts off with Your Best Nightmare, and the fight feels impossible. It does such a good job of making you feel powerless, and your only hope is to cry for help, and hope someone answers. But, after you gain the help of all the souls, the tables suddenly turn. Now, Flowey, with all his godlike power, is at a disadvantage. This is the first time in the fight, and really the game, when you feel truly powerful. Flowey absorbed the six human souls, achieved unmatched strength, and is throwing everything he has at you. He's using every last bit of his power, in a desperate attempt to kill you, and there is nothing he can do. It's so beautiful, because despite him gaining everything he ever wanted, he can't beat you, because you have the human souls helping you, and after everything, Flowey's downfall is in one thing. He. Is. Alone.
So true. The Asriel battle is less of a fight and more of trying to guide flowey into remembering who he is. The sans battle is the least significant in the element of a story, but a punishment. It takes that impossible feeling of the omega flowey fight, with a bit less of a crazy stature, and then makes it 6x longer, and the fight never feels in your control. Toby really is good at making final bosses symbolic. Especially that whole sans punishment. It spells out that you are wrong and you will get what you deserve. No other game uses the final boss to make the player know they are on the wrong path. The other paths have such a more undertale nature. And it's just fantastic game developing. That dragged sorry. Omg this is long what rant did I make I need to stop this no-.
@@thegeeg1748 I actually never interpreted the Sans fight that way, that's actually really insightful. Now that I think about it, both major fights in the genocide run are a punishment, the Undyne fight being a warning, and the Sans fight being the consequence for your actions.
ArkhamJesterV And at the very end chara talks to you about thinking you are above consequences, and the game permanently punished you for the genocide run if you do a pacifist afterward. You are not Scott free after doing all of that. Edit: oh and reading into sans’ dialogue helps to prove that as well. Amazing story.
The fact that this is literally just "Your Best Friend," but it's a remix shocks me. It follows exactly the same theme as it, but it's just more instrumental.
Not only that, the song also veers off into a mostly original composition with bits of Your Best Friend sprinkled in after His Theme plays. You're not fighting the Flowey you know anymore once he gets the human souls, and his battle themes reflect that with Your Best Nightmare not using the Your Best Friend leitmotif at all and Finale's usage of it being mostly unrecognizable for most of the song.
the thing i really like about neutral ending is that it gives personification to the human souls that we don't really get in the other ends. its insanely easy to forget that they were characters at one point; all we know about them is that they lived, they died, one of the things they enjoyed and a virtue they had .its really sad once you think about it
They are as one dimensional as Frisk and I feel as if that is intentional. Though even if that is the point, it still sucks that only the first human is somewhat properly explored.

seriously, is there any other soundtrack that (no pun intended, for real) fills you with determination this much? every time i hear it i feel like i can surpass anything that gets in my way, may it be flowey, or any boss in any game.
I got some serious Super Paper Mario vibes during this fight : a fucked up villain appears as you defeated who seemed to be your last opponent, take the power to reshape himself into a nightmare and even though he is allmighty at first, he finally fail to harness his new power... Yep... Flowey would "like" Dimentio
Poor flowey. It's not even his fault, really. It was Asgore who commissioned Alphys to do the research in the first place, and flowey was just a byproduct of that. Even Asriel is pretty blameless. The only reason he went evil was because Chara was a heartless bastard and twisted his mind. Jesus, I did not expect any of this to come out of a 6 hour long indie game.
+M5A1 Stuart I think being reborn as an unfeeling flower that could manipulate time and space did more damage to Asriel/Flowey's mind than Chara's hypothetical remnants.
+M5A1 Stuart It´s nobody´s fault. Agore wanted to get the monster free. Alphys too. Asriel got manioulated by the Fallen Human. Flowey/Asriel couldn´t feel emotions and had a power that made life meaningless. Who can you blame? Oh, right. The Fallen Human and YOU, potentially.

+M5A1 Stuart Not even the fallen human is to blame. They weren't completely bad at first, they only wanted to destroy humanity, not monsters. Well, that is until you, the player influenced them.
I exist only to make offensive and distasteful comments. Wanting to destroy humanity isn't exactly the kind of thing you say "they only wanted to do that" about.
Anyone else notice that SEVEN wizards sealed the monsters underground, and you need SEVEN human souls to break it, and that their are SEVEN types of human souls?
There are SEVEN Chaos Emeralds in Sonic. There are SEVEN Crystal Stars in Paper Mario: TTYD. There are SEVEN Dragon Balls in DBZ. I think I see a pattern...
Mattan Masri DETERMINATION, BRAVERY, JUSTICE, KINDNESS, PATIENCE, INTEGRITY, and PERSEVERANCE! Mind. Blown. (Also, SEVEN CHOCOLATES because I have seven chocolates.)
Seeing that you are finally going to defeat flowey fills you with PATIENCE Knowing that if you lose, you will always come back fills you with BRAVERY Knowing that after all flowey has done, you're still standing fills you with PERSEVERANCE Seeing that your friends are helping you fills you with INTEGRITY Knowing that you will save the rest of the people in the underground fills you with KINDNESS Seeing all the bad things flowey has done coming to an end fills you with JUSTICE But most of all, knowing that if you just keep pulling through, you will defeat this main antagonist. It fills you with DETERMINATION.
The first time I played the game, I failed. I wasn't agile enough to dodge all of Flowey's attacks, Frisk kept dying over and over and over again, he laughed at them, and what he did to my file really scared me. So I chickened out. Deleted the game, deleted my file. I still feel guilty about it. The last moments the Souls had were spent under Flowey's control control. The last the monsters had was Asgore's death. Maybe in the game's world there is a timeline, where they are all very much aware, listening to Flowey gloat about how he was the one to kill the human, and Asgore. The Chara from that timeline must hate me for giving up in the final stretch, for letting their Father die, for letting their brother and best friend succumb to the power, especially after everything. But every consecutive playthrough, I persisted. I remember muttering "I'm not afraid of you." at Flowey, even though the visuals, music, and the stunts he pulled with the game were pretty scary for me. The biggest turning point was when I realised that after "redeeming" a Soul, my progress didn't vanish after dying. And Flowey's text every time I tried again and again proved that he was not prepared for Frisk coming back again and again, and I wouldn't just let them "stay dead for good". So I had a chance. And every time I got a little bit closer. And I could finally see through his "kill or be killed" schtick. He was just a child, after all. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to rub my victory in his face, but I think still sparing him, even if partially out of spite, just to show how wrong he was, helped prove my point. He could throw his threats and attacks around all he wanted, but I would not turn back again, and I would fight to give everyone the happiest ending possible. I think we fought him to the end around three times now, resetting again and again just to achieve *the* happiest ending, where *every* monster is happy. I do feel a little guilty. Characters like Sans must feel like I'm doing it for entertainment, but I just want the silly pixels on the screen to have the best end possible. Every one of them. I know it's worth it. And every playthrough, this song hits hard as ever. To me, it not only symbolises rising up against Flowey that cheated his way into power, and used file saving and loading only to kill Frisk over and over again, and bring pain, but myself using file saving and loading over and over again to make sure I don't fail a single monster. Not again.
@@ethanmcneill1941 I know about it, but it's not canon to me. Thog don't care that the game guves you free choice to do whatever you want. Thog want the funny pixels to be happy.

+Totally Badass Goat Mom (Formerly The Mad Doctor, Marty McMole, and The Organization XIII) Yeah, and I obviously see why people like finale more. But, for some reason Power of NEO is my favorite song in Undertale.
Watching the six souls be freed from FLOWEY’S grasp, a blinding flash of white conjured in the flick of a wrist. The whole scene changed, like a stage. In front of you stood a yellow flower, in a crystal clear distress, obviously in a flourished panic stricken state. The world claimed to be back in your hands, albeit the enemy was just in front of you. The six souls vanished in thin air, a mixture of vines, leafs, a monster more than enough times the size of you in your way. You took a deep breath. *”FLOWEY’S DEFENSE DROPPED TO ZERO!”*
This game is truly the perfect storm of music, story, and gameplay. Most games focus on good graphics, or a great story, or maybe even well rounded controls. This game compacts all of them into a Indie game, something big name franchises I've yet to see do. Thanks Toby, you made one of the best games to ever exist.
Ouoyupot Dotch The game doesn't have great graphics, but it's stylized and unique looking. Still, the graphics aren't bad aside from like...the ruins. Plus some parts are just fantastic, generally endgame, as in, Photoshop Flowey and Asriel
For me, it is literally Friday, and I have five minutes left. And I am listening to this. I spend my entire free period listening to Undertale soundtracks.
I don't know why, but 1:00 in always make me emotional. The sudden instruments in the background are like the souls, helping you through the fight when things seem tough, which naturally, a minute into the final phase, you would be somewhat beat up. This music is like they're supporting you through the battle, win or lose. Damn.
Ahh, nostalgia.. I remeber when I really died many times but always tried again. Than the soul sections, they were something like heaven. But then all the human souls helped me to beat the crap out of flowey with that damn good finale. Than that trollface that flowey did. And then that weed part, where the souls "betrayed" flowey.. Undertale will always be my fav game

+Karby64 its the only way to be a true pacifist. despite how much one has done wrong, everyone has some good in their heart and they just need somebody to help them find it. even flowey.
+Karby64 I wanted to do a genocide run to be bros with him, but the fallen child didn't obey me T.T That's what I get from playing the game without spoiling myself.
+thatdmnguy Actually, you don't need to spare Flowey to get true pacifist. But if you don't spare him, he won't give you the hint for achieving the true ending out of spite. You can still get the true ending without his hint though.
+Karby64 I did the same. Maybe because I was going for a pacifist run, but I felt that there had to be some good in him. And besides, like a lot of main villains, giving them what they want, especially when all they want is to die, doesn't always feel right.

Megalovania and Hopes and Dreams stand no chance against this. And no, I won't tell you to "kill me" because that is the truth. At least in my opinion.
Wanna give this song an even more epic edge? At 1:21, increase the speed to 1.25. Then at 1:41, increase it to 1.50. Gives the impression that time is running out, and you have to win quickly. It'd actually be pretty cool if the music sped up like that in the battle as Flowey's HP got lower...
6 years ago man...6 years ago this masterpiece was made, this whole undertale game was made, that created so many fandoms and groups and universes, it all started with undertale, the music, and Toby, thank you toby for such good music, your talent is unmatched.

+Daniel Maniel So, for those TL:DR people, flowey's a fucked up character, has slight essence of soul, and shit happens to him..?
+Daniel Maniel You think if he truly wanted to, he couldn't trap you in an infinite loop?
Get real, you're not dominating anyone. He lets you win. Every time.
Even giving you cheatcodes to ensure you can't screw the happy ending he wants for you up.
That happy ending that involves him getting a taste of what he desperately struggled for only to be reminded that he can never keep it.
Flowey is a total bro.
Sans is not as kind to you.
+chris c So you're telling me he also "lets" the six human souls disobey him and turn to your side in order to take away his ability to save?

Omega Flowey is the only boss that you feel satisfied in using "Fight" on. You've been tortured by this sadistic flower asswipe the entire game, and this is the moment you get to see him get his comeuppance. I don't know what it is that makes me smile so much while I'm killing this guy. The triumphant, anthemic score that is this song, the desperate, rapid way he cycles through his attacks, the weird noises he makes when he gets hit... Something about fighting Omega Flowey just feels... ethically correct, if you can understand that.

Nightmare in a nutshell
this
It could also be the determination that comes from help. If the souls can't actually hurt Flowey yet, they can at least empower you to fight back. Determination can come from anywhere, especially with support.
To me, is what Asriel could have been had he not been killed on the surface
Patiently waiting,
Bravery rising,
Integrity showing,
Justice standing,
Persevering,
Kindness glowing,

Wdym the only one
You pretty much nailed it. He needs seven souls to become Asriel again and has six as Photoshop Flowey with the last one having brought itself right to him, so the reason His Theme is used in Finale is because of Flowey's closeness to regaining his true form as the character His Theme belongs to. There is a little bit of Asriel left inside of Flowey, and he's incredibly close to accessing it in the Photoshop fight.
You aren't. Not only is this a banger, but it sounds extremely dramatic, giving me the feeling of "LET'S KICK SOME ASS."
Idea for how to save Asriel in future DLC or something:
1. Discover San's passcode in pacifist or neutral [with papyrus not being dead] mode [legendary fartmaster etc.]
7. emotional stuff
8. you reset once more with Sans' machine, but to the very begining. You now have Chara's soul in your inventory.
9. Play 'altered pacifist' [changes in dialogue, harder] and break the barrier.
10. Go back to Asriel in the flower patch in the ruins.
11. Give him Chara's soul.
yay now everyone is happy and you get an ending where toriel and asgore get back together and you and asriel live together with them
edit: and you can fight annoying dog and sans in normal non-genocide mode. annoying dog is harder than sans. sans wont actually kill you though.

FINALLY SOMEBODY GETS IT THANK YOU
I wish the remixes can capture this as good as the actual theme does
For me, this isn't a glimmer of hope, you and your opponent are now in equal footing. But instead of a battle, its a race. with the only thing in your way is the obstacle. This is your last push
@@neutralplayeroflol5722 exactly
You have the immense futile and fear of "what the heck is this thing" with your best nightmare and as the fight continues on it becomes this "I can do this" when it gets to final
I think "Asgore" is more like sad because asgore don't really wanna fight, and like it or not you have to fight him but this is more like the real end so it feels more melancholic and frenetic.
I know a lot of people have said this, but 0:58 is literally the rawest part of the entire game’s OST.

Oh yeah! that's so cool!
I just listened closely and OMG you're right!

i heard it too...
Ya do know.. Flowey is Asriel. Like flowey doesn't control him or anything. When asriel became a Flower and learned the power of reset, be used his power for good. What really amused him was killing, so he became insane
If you listen closely you can hear it throughout
I think
Could be not that but
3h2c He lost his soul, so he is not whole, it made him lose all empathy and on top of that he was tortured by boredom for like a million years. I wouldn’t say he was completely in control of his actions

@@thegeeg1748 Or, you know, we're just reading way too far into it.

The fact that this is literally just "Your Best Friend," but it's a remix shocks me. It follows exactly the same theme as it, but it's just more instrumental.
I think it’s a remix of hopes and dreams
Your best froend is a remix of the fu song from spongebob
Not only that, the song also veers off into a mostly original composition with bits of Your Best Friend sprinkled in after His Theme plays. You're not fighting the Flowey you know anymore once he gets the human souls, and his battle themes reflect that with Your Best Nightmare not using the Your Best Friend leitmotif at all and Finale's usage of it being mostly unrecognizable for most of the song.
There's a bit of His Theme in the back and a MASSIVE amount of dancing around in the melody, it's almost nothing like it in comparison.
@@allenwantstodie7378 Its a heavily intesified remix of Your best friend. The melody is made into a battle theme

the thing i really like about neutral ending is that it gives personification to the human souls that we don't really get in the other ends. its insanely easy to forget that they were characters at one point; all we know about them is that they lived, they died, one of the things they enjoyed and a virtue they had .its really sad once you think about it
They are as one dimensional as Frisk and I feel as if that is intentional. Though even if that is the point, it still sucks that only the first human is somewhat properly explored.

+M5A1 Stuart
I think being reborn as an unfeeling flower that could manipulate time and space did more damage to Asriel/Flowey's mind than Chara's hypothetical remnants.

Maybe its like in zelda those are the old mages desendants
There are SEVEN Chaos Emeralds in Sonic.
There are SEVEN Crystal Stars in Paper Mario: TTYD.
There are SEVEN Dragon Balls in DBZ.

Knowing that after all flowey has done, you're still standing fills you with PERSEVERANCE
Seeing that your friends are helping you fills you with INTEGRITY
Knowing that you will save the rest of the people in the underground fills you with KINDNESS

Hello, Flandre.
Not again.

The sudden instruments in the background are like the souls, helping you through the fight when things seem tough, which naturally, a minute into the final phase, you would be somewhat beat up. This music is like they're supporting you through the battle, win or lose. Damn.
Ahh, nostalgia..

I knew someone would write this in the comments
You sound like a freaking epic warrior!
the frist part would kind of fit for lyrics...
I spared him my first time getting to this.
Is that weird? I had no hesitation to spare?
+Karby64 its the only way to be a true pacifist.
despite how much one has done wrong, everyone has some good in their heart and they just need somebody to help them find it. even flowey.
thatdmnguy It wasn't even a pacifist playthrough, it was a regular playthrough, which makes it even more strange I guess.
+Karby64 I wanted to do a genocide run to be bros with him, but the fallen child didn't obey me T.T
That's what I get from playing the game without spoiling myself.
+thatdmnguy
Actually, you don't need to spare Flowey to get true pacifist.

I agree, this song gives the feeling of: this is the final battle everyones counting on you , you need to stay determined for the one final time.

Genocide: Megalovania
The ending songs for each route!
Pacifist: Bring it in, guys!
correction: genocide's ending song is ASGORE
and all 3 are BANGERS
The final Bosses songs, not the ending ones
@@auraethan you dont even fight Asgore on Genocide
Wanna give this song an even more epic edge? At 1:21, increase the speed to 1.25. Then at 1:41, increase it to 1.50.
Gives the impression that time is running out, and you have to win quickly. It'd actually be pretty cool if the music sped up like that in the battle as Flowey's HP got lower...
+IidoTheFox This sounds awesome this way
