This is how our brain/human nature works. We love to see things in pairs or to look for similarities. I can't break it down psychologically but i think that's why you feel like that about it.

GrandLineReview plot holes, not using a character as much as you want, not doing the manga justice, giving an annoying character more airtime than they deserve, feeling like an arc has lasted for 10 years, the theme song taking up more time than any of Zoro's fights? I agree. It’s such a shame, because the meaningful and important message gets lost in all the “boringness” and bad pacing of the arc. I felt the only reason I didn’t skip was to commit to my investment in the stories significance.
The episode where Luffy yell’s “I’m going to do it!” is probably my favorite in the entire series because the music in that scene has such a large hype factor and I just get really happy

Execution was not the best, but the themes that are covered in OP is one of the most complex and interesting themes that is covered by OP. Talks of prejudice and later on, human trafficking only shows that post time skip is a clear and interesting attempt at appealing to a mature audience.

I started watching OP on toonami when I was a kid but stopped watching at the arlong arc because the fishmen weirded me out. Funnily enough, this was the arc at which I restarted watching OP. Then I hit youtube and the wiki real hard for a couple weeks to catch up. Good stuff, do not regret, but also there’s no way I can go back and watch everything I missed.

I thought thriller bark was words than this arc and I still like both. One piece has such an engaging story as a whole, that I end up just loving it as a whole, not just any one arc. They all build off of one another. Watch and read it all, I say 😊
@@tomaskalinka5679 A good number didn't like that it was mainly a showcase for the post skip straw hats and didn't provide a difficult fight for them. It was an arc more for setting pieces than enacting them in the main story. The flashback and societal conflicts are largely enjoyed, but the battles felt empty.

I actually quite enjoyed that arc in contrast to many who disliked it, maybe because i could binge watch the arc in a week or two. Just the last fight vs Hody felt a bid stretched but except that its a really solid arc with a lot of comedy.
