      I like the looks of both especially the Lincoln star logo on back on the 2014. People are still driving the previous model years as the 2015 to the present 2019 model year.

    I have had a 2012 Navigator for five years and love it. I'd have a hard time moving from a V8 to V6 with turbo. Just doesn't seem right for such a large SUV. I'll stay with my V8. Definitely the 2014.

    Just traded my Ecoboost f150 for a 2012 navigator. Nothing beats a good old fashioned 5.4 V8. Yeah the interior is a little dated, but it does feel like you're in an older yacht. No regrets here on my "downgrade". Feels like an upgrade to me, especially when I look at my bank account.

It was my first time driving a luxury SUV... well my fist time driving such a large SUV. I still want one, such a glorious automobile!

    "Premium Ford"
    Isn't that what the Lincoln brand technically is?

    • @AJay0404
      @AJay0404 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah but it doesn't have to be an obvious premium version of Ford. When you see a Navigator, you DON'T HAVE TO think it's a premium version of the Expedition. I mean the Escalade obviously looks like a rebadged Tahoe/Yukon but the Navigator looks much more different and unique, and it doesn't look like a rebadged Expedition

    • @Phenique35
      @Phenique35 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AJay0404 Thank You! I drive a Lincoln Navigator and so often, people that don't drive a luxury vehicle or people that drive Fords LOVE to make that comment🤔😂. It's NOT the same, but whatever helps them sleep at night works for me. I went out with a guy that drives a Ford and he made that comment so much, that I got tired of hearing it. It's like they want to play down or down grade your whip. Really doesn't matter at the end of the day. However, if it says Expedition, it's a FORD EXPEDITION. If it says Navigator, it's a LINCOLN NAVIGATOR.

    • @CLEnforcer
      @CLEnforcer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Lincoln started in the past as an own unique brand and ford bought it later on ( in1922 ). Lincoln is the luxury part of Ford and not a premium Ford.

    I just bought an 05 Navi last week, I was debating for a while and the newer ones just don't have the look I want (plus, V8 is gone now) so I started to look at GM's previous generation Escalade and Denali and I just couldn't pull the trigger because of the 3rd row seating. To have a comfortable 3rd row in those trucks i had to go with the longer versions (don't like the look of a long SUV) so I started looking at older Navigators and seeing as it came with almost everything these came with but at a $6000 price tag, I couldn't pass it up. So I got my 6spd auto, I got my 8,600lb towing capacity, I got my automatic tail gate. Only things I need to do to bring it up to the current times (these trucks) is a touch screen stereo with a back up camera which I found for $140 and some better looking wheels that are bigger than the factory 17" alloys.

    I've had a 2014 for almost a year as well as a 15 Expedition. Both cars are great. Yes, the 15 is peppier and gets better mileage (13/14 vs 11/12). I prefer the luxury of the Navigator and believe it will last many, many miles (I have in the mid 70s now.) The turbo's longevity remains to be seen. Either way - much nicer than the GMs.

      Well they did but you have to think that the navigator is a more luxurious version of the Expedition, it's not an "independent" vehicle. It has to be similar to the Expedition. Think of it as the Escalade or Yukon to the Suburban. Both more luxurious versions of the suburban.

      They should also put the 5.0 V-8 in. Truck based SUV's must have V-8's, not V-6's. I have read that people up in the mountains are having issues with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. Apparently the turbos wear out easily.

    • @grahamrothphotography
      @grahamrothphotography 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      especially when you mass produce an engine and turbos, some are going to have problems, I've even heard problems with cvt transmissions in the mountains, having the car redline the whole way up, but ya the 5.0L would have been a good option!

    I'm 39....but I'm old school... and I got the 2008, and I love that style... it's classic and HARDCORE LOOK ROCKS!! The 2015 looks like a pussy, pardon my word of choice, but it really does. I made sure to stay away because I'm a big v8 5.4 fan. Mpg not an issue for me. Only one thing I do like about the newer style is the taillights. That's it. The chrome and front, along with old style classic design or interior being mixed with newer design ROCKS on the 2014 style!!!

      You and me/my Dad are on the same exact page. My Dad bought a 2014 model with 120 miles on it. He was going to get a 2015 model, but he didn’t like the design, but he really got pushed away from the 2015 model when the sales person said the 2015 model didn’t have a V8. 7 and a half years later and 65,000 miles, we couldn’t be happier with it. It’s been super reliable and we’ve done 8 road trips comfortably in it! The Ecoboost has more issues than the 5.4 so I have no regrets.

    I prefer the extensive chrome usage on the 07-14 …including the wheels …and once again I love all the chrome on the grill but the 15-17 split “Lincoln” wing front end is a nice modern clean look …I love both rears just about the same …even tho the v6 is faster and more efficient…I just love having that big American v8 …however all and all the 15-17 refresh are Quite an improvement! Given it now ft. The push to start , lane side assist and instead of the gage cluster …it’s now all digital! Aside from that prior to the refresh …it has everything else …just an FYI …if ur in the market for the 3rd generation …..make sure it’s a 2011-2014 …they hav a lot of the extra technology than the ones b4…not that this is an Escalade comparison but for the record …both navigators are better than the Escalade …in all the ways!!! I’ve always been a navigator girl …my 3rd one…best cars on the road!!! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥💯💯💯❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

    Would you pick this, Roman, over the Yukon Denali if you use the above criteria?

  • @AnthonyGuidetti

    The instant MPG meter thingy in the information center on the older Navigator makes no sense. Sure, on my Focus, a lot of people buying that car want to drive more eco-friendly, so the MPG thing works there. I seriously doubt anyone buying a Navigator cares about fuel economy. I mean really, how much better could it possibly get if you keep track of it.

    Is that short or long wheelbase option? If it's short then sure it has more cargo room than a Yukon or Escalade but if it's long, then the Yukon XL and Escalade ESV have much more room behind the third row.

    I HATE the gauges of the 2015 navigator the 2014’s are way nicer and way more classy looking, also the 2015 should have had an 8 speed automatic and ditched the 6 speed those are the only reasons why I don’t like the 2015 Lincoln Navigator 🤷🏻‍♂️

    There are things I really like about this new Navigator and things l like about the Escalade. Unfortunately neither gives me the perfect vehicle. The Navigator has the better interior packaging thanks to the IRS and a better infotainment set up. The Escalade has more leather and wood choices and more technology aboard. It's a tough choice, I'd prefer a vehicle that gets it all right.

    Also wouldn't you expect Lincoln to compete with Range Rover in the interior of the Navigator? Those are still like a night and day. Hell even *the previous gen. of Volvo* XC90 has better interior.

    Hey Roman, since you spoke about Diamond in the Rough, when are you gonna bring that series back? It was awesome but there was no conclusion and I previously asked you about it and answered that you'd work on it during the summer for a fall airing. Do you have a date set yet?

    Ahhh the 3.5 ecoboost. Buyer beware. When those engines get about 80k miles they start having major problems!! Misfiring. Burning up catalytic converters. Eating spark plugs for dinner. Major driveability problems that Ford is notorious for with any of their new technology engines. Do some research before buying the eco unless you have $$$$ to burn. There's lots of vids about this on TH-cam.

    This is better than the Escalade and Yukon in terms of price and features. It would be better if it had an 8 speed automatic transmission, while retaining the towing capacity.

    I still don't get why Lincoln Engineers have to downgrade from a 5.4L V8 to a Twin-Turbo V6. Yes the number are great on the Ecoboost. But in reality, the Navigator is suppose to go against the Escalade which has a 6.2L V8 producing 420 HP and can run on 4 cylinders for better fuel economy with its variable valve timing.
    If the Navigator had the same 6.2L found in the Raptor, then the Navigator would be a competitor against the Escalade or even the Yukon Denali. Plus the V8 sounds better on the Navigator.

    I thought the last gen front end was ugly, now I see this new one. That in addition to the V6?? Did Ford just decide to hand this market over to GM? I do like the idea of having a programmable suspension though, wish GM would do that. I would like to see how smooth the comfort level is. I love the floaters of yore!

    I like the idea of the 3.5 ecoboost but I can't see why there's no 5.0 (or larger) ecoboost? Downsizing an engine is only really going to give better mpg on light loads - something a heavy truck isn't going to see much of. A turbo V8 would give pretty similar mpg to the current V8 but with a shed load more power and torque.
