Racing Seat Install Guide | 2006 Subaru WRX

On my birthday in October, 4 of my best friends gave me the biggest surprise that I definitely wasn’t expecting. All of them decided to pitch in for a Sparco Circuit QRT competition seat! The best part about this gift was what they told me, and I will never forget these words, “we bought this for you because we believe in you.” I am beyond grateful for my brothers and I am beyond grateful for this gift. Looks like rear slider bolt position and orientation limits qbility to drop seat down any lower, consideration for if needing to drop tbe seat as low as possible.

Get rid of the harness bar asap and get a welded cage. Harness bars can and will bend in a accident.

My plan was to finish the build with a cage its just a lot of money at the moment and I don't have sufficient funds to support it.

I never made a video about it because I had a lot of stuff going on but the Subaru is not being built anymore. It’s pretty much finished, I just have a lot of things to film and to talk about. I get what you’re saying and you’re correct, but I’m not going to throw myself in debt to where I can’t recover. I only tracked the car 3 times and haven’t planned on tracking it anymore due to certain reasons. The car hasn’t been modified since the last video I uploaded and ever since then it’s just been getting driven around to get fluids running on the weekend. I do agree on doing it the correct way, but you also have to understand that I do have a life and other bills and expenses I have to cover to make sure I stay successful with my builds and make my future career happen. Like I said, I haven’t made any videos in awhile explaining everything so don’t judge a book by it’s cover. You have no idea what anyone is going through so please don’t assume that I have tons of money to play around with and toss around. I’m working very hard to fund my racing career and builds/future builds. Good things take time, just respect it.

@@courtneyjaneracing “Just respect it” Sorry, nope. You made a video showing a unsafe modification. If you don’t have the money, then sell the seat… put the stock seat back in and remove the harness bar. It isn’t rocket science.

Would the seat mount to the oem bracket if you didn't use that Soarco base? Just curious if an aftermarket bottom bracket is required for an aftermarket seat to fit or not

You a solutely can get bolts that will fit if you can properly gauge the pitch, metric or SAE

is it better to use QRT-R bracket than non-QRT bracket? the one in the video is non-QRT bracket

It all comes down to personal preference in my opinion. Then again, I'm not an expert and I'm still learning. I already had these Sparco brackets with my previous seats and sourced them out from someone who was selling them and they work just fine. I haven't struggled on any installs with these.

What did you do with the sensors for the passenger side?

For whatever sensors I can plug in, I plugged in. Other than that, I tucked away the rest of the sensors under the seat where they can't be seen.

What's the drive like with the head protection in the view

Having the "halo" seat as what some people nick name it, is definitely good for racing and keeping your head, neck, and body protected as long as you have the HANS device connected with the harness and helmet. However, if you are talking about dailying the seat, I would say that it's NOT ideal for daily driving because it does obstruct your view and blind spots. A lot of car enthusiasts who are considered to be show cars will have these in their cars, but are not aware of how dangerous it is because they don't have a HANS device that should be connected to the helmet and the proper harness. I don't daily the seat, but if I do drive it on the street, I don't drive for a long distance. It should be used for racing purposes only. Overall, I enjoy the comfort and tightness of the seat and feel protected in it when wearing all of my proper safety equipment.
