  • In this video, we are going to unbox the aluminium case with dual fans made for the Raspberry Pi 4 B. After that, we will set it up and perform a temperature test to see if the case really work or it is just for fun.
    The case is very popular and you can find it on Shopee, Lazada, eBay and other online commercial platforms. The case is made of Aluminum Alloy with CNC machining manufacturing technology. Come from the box, we have the case, 2 fans, thermal tapes and screws. The case will also fit well on Raspberry Pi 3 B and Raspberry Pi 3 B+ model. Tests had been done and we could see that the temperature is reduced by 10°C.
    If you are in the APAC region, you can grab this Raspberry Pi with a good price at my.cytron.io/p-raspberry-pi-4...
    Video timeframe:
    00:00 - Aluminium case with dual fans for Raspberry Pi
    00:22 - What is inside the box?
    01:55 - Install the aluminium case on the Raspberry Pi
    05:06 - Install the fans to the aluminium case
    08:01 - Temperature test and final words
    Feel free to check out other unbox videos & tutorials on my channel.

    Hi. Very good video. Opened my eyes to use IOT. I bought a banana pi r2. I installed openwrt 21 and the docker on it. It was excellent. With docker, install samba container, openvpn, MariaDb and Shinobi/CCTV. On AWS I use openwrt, as with an ec2 t2 micro running openwrt I get more instances in the free tier with very good performance. I'm better used to openwrt than alpine. It is clear that openwrt runs on home routers very well where it is possible to do the wonders of the linux world.

    How about a video on installing OpenWRT onto the really popular Ubiquity EdgeRouter X?
    Thanks.

      I could see that the process is little complicated. At the momment, I have so many routers to work with and don't think I will buy one just for the video, unless someone borrow me / give me the router. Or, you can try and if there is anything I will assist.

    How do you know the correct orientation of the fans ? I mean, putting air into the system or releasing air from the system?

    • @VanTechCorner
      @VanTechCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Normally I will blow the air out from the case. For normal PC, we only blow in the air if there is another fan blowing out the hot air.

      @@VanTechCorner you cannot suck air from the case. Pc fans are not good at that. They are good at blowing. They do not extract. They only move air. They are not like centrifugal mini fans.
      So you can only circulate air inneficiently. For a proper cooling and larger FCM you need a high profile cooling plate with fans that push air from the side to inside the cooler fins. Thats wht Noctua NH-D15 is the best cooler in the world. Because of the way its built.
      Active cooling (fans) and passive heat removal(copper). 2in1
      Aluminium its a crap in thermal conductivity.
      Every cooler should be made from pure copper.
      If you learn some physics you will never buy aluminium again for cooling.

    Did you try overclocking the Pi with this case to, say, 2GHz? What was the highest temperature the Pi reached? I am considering getting this case.

    • @VanTechCorner
      @VanTechCorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, I didn't try that. This this not a premium case and OC with the case is not recommended. If you want to OC, maybe you can take a look at the Ice Tower Cooling Case instead.

    Do the thermal pads touch the inside of the case lid?

    • @VanTechCorner
      @VanTechCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I feel the thermal pad touchs the heatsink, that why it is getting hot when the device is up.

    I just ordered this, but the fans won't install? The screws seem incorrect, they don't tighten?

      I have the same problem. Did you find a fix maybe?
      edit: ok I fortunately found some similar screws that actually work but now the top of the screws are too close to the fans so they sometimes just start being loud so I have to readjust them, which is not good for the fans

    what was the CPU load during that temp testing ?

      Hi, just normal load, under 10%.

    • @SupriyaMondal3
      @SupriyaMondal3 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      normally cpu temperature test should be done in high load. anyways thanks for sharing.

      @VanTechCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are talking about stress test. Cytron have this test available, you should see this when searching the this product on their store.

    • @SupriyaMondal3
      @SupriyaMondal3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not talking about stress test, when checking how my heatsinks and fan is working we need to put a fix load to cpu with heat sink and without. to understand how it's performing

    Some people are saying this case will interrupt the wifi signal what's with that can u please give a explaination !

    • @VanTechCorner
      @VanTechCorner  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been using it for age and doesn’t see any problem with the WiFi. However, I have to say that the WiFi signal of the RPI is not strong out of the box (due to the radio) so if you plan to use WiFi instead of Ethernet cable, you should look for a USB Wireless adapter.

    That aluminium case makes non sense. And even takes 5v from raspberry. Even an Ice Tower with power off its not gonna be soo hot. Ice tower with fan off its reaching 44. Fan switched on-reaches max.33°C
