    A solid feeling twin fan case with great accessibility. Reasonable quiet with good cooling properties
    Thanks to 52Pi for giving me both cases.

    I have that case but removed double fans and I put a 30x30 fan pi, works awesome better then the other caesnive used on isle is 35c and 42c during game play or using desktop, the heatsink gaps let me use screws to mount that other fan

    I also have the version without fan. I put a fan on top with some short plastic separators that fit perfectly with the scew side into de cuttings of the aluminum housimg. I connet it ti 3 V and it runs with almost no noise ant temp while loking at videos stays around 40 C. Good solution for me. Does not need 2 fans. No problems with wifi or bluetooth on my side.

    I've been using the Armour Case since I first bought the 4B when it was launched. Extremely good cooling compared to the Argon One case which I just bought recently for my 8GB 4B. The only bad thing is I tend to brush against the fan blades while trying to plug in USB devices.

    Over Volt 6 for me is good to about 1950mhz /650mhz
    The voltage starts at 1.2V and adjusts up or down in 0.025V steps. 0 is equal to 1.2V, the minimum -16 is 0.8V, and the maximum 8 is 1.4V. Voltage starts to help when running core/GPU/SDRAM at or over 500MHz

    This style case has heaps of Clones and Colours, Single or Dual Fan, What i liked about the older ones (Pi3) is the way it had cut-outs for power/hdmi/audio, it is not an open slot
    Have you seen the Pi Blower Fan for the Bottom of the Pi

    I have been using the dual-fan version for while and for my needs, it works perfectly. It is interesting though that you experienced the same black screen at boot that I only began experiencing with the last EEPROM update. I thought I had figured it out when some SD cards would boot if burnt with Belena Etcher but not the official Pi Imager on window 10. I did continue to have mixed results so thought it was cards that were bad, only to find out that those cards work perfectly in my MiSTer. I am going to test to see if an OS that will only boot to black screen on the new firmware will work with the overvoltage increased. So frustrating that the new firmware seems to be soooo picky and random. Just want to use the Pi, not spend all my time tracking odd issues. I would not even know what to say to able to submit a bug report. I changed the cable on one monitor and that fixed some boot to black screen but not all. It has led me to just put the Pi's aside while I play with the MiSTer!
    Also, the issue with this case blocking wifi and bluetooth should not be a condemnation of the case. I am glad the issue was pointed out though, it should be considered when choosing a case your use needs. Personally, I had never even considered it to be an issue before reading the comments in this thread. I just googled the issue of metal cases and Pi's and there are a few pages that actually test the issues, so it is a measurable factor. I guess my use scenario never put me outside the reduced radius when using the case, so have never noticed. I normally use ethernet and have no issues using a 8BitDO SN30 Pro Plus in bluetooth mode with either this case or the Argon One. Cooling is critical for me, so love the dual-fan armor case!
    Thank you for another fine video!

    Does the kit also work on 3.3V (pin 1 instead of 4 on the GPIO)? Maybe it draws less current and the over_voltage=6 could work. It worked on my GeekPI Extreme Cooling Fan kit. ;-)

    Doesn't the metal casing (any brand) interfere with the on-board WiFi? I would think it would act like a Faraday cage to some extent.

    i have this, but without the fan version. It seems to interfere with Bluetooth and wifi signal, my connection always dropping.

    I buy these from China (aliexpress) for about $8, using since I first got a Pi4 and been very happy with them. Never had throttling, even in the beginning when heat was a much bigger problem.
    The negative is that there is no protection on the side, and I once knocked some small parts off the board when trying to connect a micro-hdmi cable and missed the right spot.

    • @Nick_Jarrett
      @Nick_Jarrett 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First one I bought neither fan worked.
      Got a replacement for free and only 1 fan worked and then ye gave me a refund.
      In the end I bought a 40mm fan and a usb voltage dial and stuck it on the top and changed to about 60% power which makes it even quieter than the one that came with the case
      (p.s. Non working fans all heat up)

    I think the heat sink notch at the bottom is intended for someone using Rockpi SBC since the SoC of the Rockpi is located at the bottom of the board. Rockpi is the same size as the raspberry Pi.

      It is there for use on other RPI models, useless for the Pi 4. The molded part goes up to cool a component from underneath. A good idea to add it to the case!

    No, the GPIO header is not available to most hats and another add on for the PI. The current way that these companies are adding fans this way is flawed. There needs to be a different standard for supplying power to the fan.

    Great video, just subscribed! Thanks. Could you please try the stability of: over_voltage=8 - arm_freq=2130 - gpu_freq=950? It's been reported that, this is the most stable upper way. Thank you!

    I've kept my pi4 overclocked at cpu 2147 and gpu 750 for months (in an argon one case) . Then i've tried to switch from rasperry os 32 to ubuntu 64 and after that my pi can't be oc properly. As soon as I change the GPU speed it hangs after few minutes. No problem for the CPU that, btw, even if is at 2147 in config.txt is reported at more than 2200 from neofetch. Anyone else noticed this strange behaviour?

    • @leepspvideo
      @leepspvideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try upping the over voltage

    • @massimodileo7169
      @massimodileo7169 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      leepspvideo you arr right, I'm using overvoltage at 8 and the system seems pretty stable (neofetch reports a cpu speed of 2200 instead pf 2147). I don't know how safe is to keep the voltage at 8, but I wonder what has changed, why the overvoltage at 6 is not enough anymore.
