What would you have done differently?

You could reinforce the upper glueup with domino, or through dowel. Otherwise nice work.

@@GadiBereznitsky We couldn't think of a good way to get a domino in there but a dowel might have worked!

The table likely could have held more weight but we didn’t want to risk it!

Come on Mr. Muscle, where are you hiding the rest of your plates?
I'm just kidding. You asked what we thought and if we were woodworkers. I am a complete wannabe. I made my bed frame and headboard out of pallets and it came out beautiful.
A lot of work. We have a lot of tools but not the big stuff. I have been watching tons of videos and have a couple projects going. I'm up cycling pallet wood and keeping my eye out for some cedar, maple or anything that's not pine to mix together for my next noisy mess. Lol.
Thank you for sharing. I'll check out your hardwood flooring. Stay safe.

Beautiful table! Super creative and love the mid-century look.
The only thing I’d have rather seen was one of you sit on it as that would have been a much more effective weight test…😂

    That's an awesome piece!
Im not sure if I would have done anything different. However, as a curiosity I wondered if a mitered half lap (the knee to foot) would have performed as well or if it would only be a complicated visual effect.
Truly an awesome build! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! That probably would have worked as well, we just kept it simple since even these little projects take so much longer than expected

Love this design! Thinking of doing this out of 1x material and dowels! Would I have to do anything different?

I have the Makita Miter Saw and the little accident at the start happened to me more than once ahahah. I think it has to do with the piece of wood moving during the cut, but I might be wrong (I would actually like to know the exact reason if you know better than me) . Btw I'm a super beginner in woodworking and you guys have a new subscriber! Loved the table design!

I think it can be for a few reasons either wood movement, the blade pinching, or a really dull blade. We replaced the blade and haven’t had any further issues. Thanks for subscribing, feel free to reach out with any questions.

@@kellybrosbuilds wow, thanks for the insighful answer, I should check the blade.

Just ONE scrap pile? You need to be more specific... And how big is the pile(s)? Are they carefully sorted into "I could make a knob out of this", "I could make a handle out of this", "I could make a sign out of this", "I could edgeband something with this", and "I could make a shelf with this"? These things are important to cover...
