Thanks for the circuit surgeon recommendation! I just ordered the blue one along with an SSD, Thermal Grizzly paste & thermal pads. I'm excited to optimize the performance of Project Scorpio XB1X as it randomly shuts down during graphically intense games....so annoying. xFix's tutorial is straight forward enough that anyone with basic cpu skills can complete it. I was able to do it with my 2015 Macbook Air via xFiX's Ubuntu tutorial for anyone with a Mac that may feel discouraged in doing the upgrade. Some people will say these upgrades aren't worth it but if you plan to hold on to your Special Edition XB1X console as I do or have sourced an XB1X console for cheap and can also find these items on sale then I think the benefits are well worth it! Upgraded speed, cooling, & reliability will enhance your user experience and give you peace of mind. Plus this is just fun if you like to tinker with things and make them better lol.

Serious question, how do peoples consoles get this dirty? I've had my xb1x since launch and recently changed my thermal paste. Inside was pretty much spotless and I've never cleaned it.

Got my One X late 2017. Never opened it up. But despite that, it’s never failed on me once. And it’s still quiet however I’ve noticed the sound picking up recently so im gonna have to clean it. Never knew dust could get inside consoles so that’s why i never opened it up.
Cuban Cucumber glad it’s still working well! Some compressed air and a soft brush can help to clear dust from the vents around the sides. However, if it needs a deeper cleaning, taking the console apart will be better. That way you can see what areas need the most attention. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙌

Cleaning from the sides would def be a great place to start if you’re having trouble with the tear down. You can you a soft toothbrush and air along the sides and back to open up the airflow. Hope it helps! Thanks for watching and commenting
I’ve been playing this Xbox for a month now and it’s generally cool and silent. If I’m playing for a while, the fan will speed up occasionally and is a little loud but that only lasts for like 15-20 seconds. It gets the heat out quickly and goes back to being cool and silent again. I messaged with the seller on eBay and he said this mod should make your Xbox run 10 degrees cooler. Hope that helps. Good call with replacing the thermal paste. I think the fan is meant to adjust depending on the load but I’m not sure if pulsating is an issue or not. The fan mod I used follows the existing fan patterns and boosts the speed by 50%. The eBay seller has other options available. The one I used in this video was the least expensive.

Recently cleaned my xbox one after purchasing it used from a pawn shop (want to play the exclusives Gears, Halo etc and got a Ps4 launch this cycle). Never seen so much dust inside in my life. My Ps4 (launch) was spotless. How TF can people let their expensive shit get so rough? Its like discs. I buy a lot of used media and looking at the discs sometimes it's like people be using them on turntables first before putting them in the console.

The difference is likely that the fans are loud for less time with the mod as it pushes the air out faster. I had some fall off and was able to line them back up on the heat sink before putting it back together. If that’s not an option you could also replace those pads with something like this amzn.to/32OlNj6
If you dont want to open it, you can use like a toothbrush and compressed air to get some of the dust build up. However, it most likely needs to be taken apart and deep cleaned if its like the one in this video. Thanks for watching!

It’s because people don’t do basic cleaning I cleaned my friends ps4 and now it doesn’t over heat
Sometimes the dirt can come from smoking near the console or just straight up neglect I guess

@@Jamsnaxx yeah got it fixed turned out i accidentally lifted the main chip and it needed reballed so far it works perfectly and runs a lot quieter

One of those blue round thermal pads fell off one of my ram Chips will this damage my one x ?
