It CLEARLY was Death Eaters trying to break in to rob you of all your Harry Potter coolness. They used Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder to hide their misdeeds from us...better check your library to make sure nothing is missing...
Not to be a killjoy here, because I do collect this village. But, they are pricy, they sent you over a thousand dollars worth of merchandise. The buildings run about 120 to 200 dollars a piece. The small figures start at about 23 dollars on up.
I think a lot of the more “high end” villages are pricey like this, people like their Christmas collections haha. I thought the same thing though, like $1000 worth of stuff! So lucky!
I can't afford these on my salary but I have been exceedingly lucky at the thrift stores and garage sales for some of my items. I found a Harry Potter Philosopher's Stone origina paperback at a yard sales for $2.00 many moons ago. It was not in mint condition but the appraiser said between fair to good condition. Yes, I have been collecting Harry Potter since the 90's.

We r planning on my grand daughter and i taking Amtrak to Tampa and going to Universal. I have not been there and want to do so in the next year. I cant wait! I recall visiting a Christmas village somewhere in Virginia and there was a section displaying Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, it was too pricey for me. Still, that's an awesome collection! Gringotts with the dragon is my fave in this set. Can't wait to see part 2!
I didn’t realize that Department 56 came out with Harry Potter house and characters until last year! Haha These are incredible! My grandma collected the entire Department 56 Dickens Village and the entire North Pole Village. I now want the Harry Potter Village! Haha Keep Collecting!

I use to help my gran set up her Dept 56 when I was a little girl too and now all I can envision is maybe one day she'll let me have some and I can create a Muggle London with her older pieces with a passthru to Diagon. I don't collect these yet. But I really love the idea, especially to display in the holiday season. I have to say my favorite is the burrow with the twins! The Burrow always gave me a home feeling. Grimmauld Place is definitely a must have!!!!! With a Sirius and a Monster Character!
O wow imagine using the figurines and creating a landscape so it looks like figurines are in foreground and building are in background. So Fred and George walking home and you can se it in the background, or Griphook walking home from his work :)
