      If you look in healthcare databases you will find publications on characteristics of effective leadership, such as influencing others, effective team building and meeting organisational goals. You could looks at traits of effective leaders, again lots of publications on impact of effective leaders/ leadership. I hope it goes well. 😊

    Hi Carol
    I’m preparing for a Band 6 Critical Care Unit Charge Nurse position and got to prepare a presentation on How as a Band 6 would I promote teamwork to ensure positive work environment. The presentation should not exceed 6 slides, so I’m a bit confused as to what to include and not. Would you suggest as to how to go about with this presentation. Heartfelt gratitude for all your informative videos.
    Awaiting your reply.
    Regards
    Jolsana Joseph

    Hi Carol
    I am so glad to come cross your videos. I have a interview for a CHC nursing assessor post in two weeks. A bit of nerves, because I haven’t been in a interview for many years!
    In my invitation letter said: you will be expected to give a presentation at your interview, but didn’t say the subject, time required or the format. I have sent a email to clarify.
    Do you have any tips for this kind of interview?
    I am looking forward to hearing from you.

    • @carolforde-johnston
      @carolforde-johnston  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Ying, I am glad you found this video helpful to help your presentation. It is good that you have asked for clarification. Regarding the interview, if you are on Facebook I would ask the question on the nursing forums as lots of nurses have been for CHC assessor roles. The Royal College of Nursing Students or # NursesRoar are good Facebook forums to ask the question. I am unfamiliar with the role I'm afraid but the same principles apply for any job, start by reviewing the job description and national standards that link to the role. Check out my videos on How to prepare for a Band 5,6,7 role for generic interview questions that might help. I am unsure what banding the role is you are applying for. I hope that helps and wish you the best at interview Ying.

    Hi may I know what does it means unseen presentation to last 15 minutes. Is this means … can I use any topic? Am I able to use any slides or poster to present my topic ? Please reply. Thank you so much.

    • @carolforde-johnston
      @carolforde-johnston  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, usually for an unseen presentation you are normally given the presentation title/ topic on arrival at the interview, not before. Then you have a set amount of time to prepare. You can then plan a presentation during that set time and you may use different tools to present e.g. PowerPoint, white board, flipchart paper or smart boards. It should state details in the interview invite and what tools there are. I can't say for sure as employers may have different interpretations, but this is my understanding. There should be no problem phoning or emailing them before the interview to check for sure. I hope it goes well for you. 😊🍀

    Where can I find the answer for how to increase training figures in palliative care ???

    • @carolforde-johnston

      It depends which type of training and for who.
      Check on health care databases for articles like this: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.5694/j.1326-5377.2003.tb05573.x

    I found out at my informal visit that there would be a 10 minutes presentation. How do you prepare for a topic that you find out on the day?

    • @carolforde-johnston
      @carolforde-johnston  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you are not allowed preparation time, it's harder. All you can do is research around the field, setting and current topics/ latest research linked to the role before your interview. The principles for presenting will be the same e.g. be clear on the aim and what you're being asked to do. Don't forget the other candidates will be in the same position. I hope that helps. 😊🍀
