      Yes, will have a go in a couple of weeks Damian, as a few people asked about which post-reg courses to apply for. You do mean post-reg rather than pre-reg? Thanks for feedback 😊

    Hi Carol, thank you for this video. Do you have any advise for a Band 7 clinical practitioner interview? This role is for hospital at night team. Thanks

    • @carolforde-johnston
      @carolforde-johnston  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Thelma, perhaps have a look at my video preparing for band 6 and band 7 interview as that may help too. Try to align some practical examples linked to the specific skills required in the role to prepare and plan for potential questions. What are your key managerial and leadership responsibilities, as you may be asked questions linked to these? These roles vary across employers. Think about scenario based questions linked to 'night working' too. Talk to staff currently in role about any challenges at night. Although you have less staff on at night there will still be a team approach to escalation, check out how current escalation structures and communication works at night. You can still educate and support staff in roles at night, as per any clinical practitioner role. Otherwise most of the advice is linked to preparing for potential questions as per video guidance. Good luck!

    Hi Carol 😁 do you have any advice at where to look for suitable masters qualifications for a mental health nurse to progress from band 6 to band 7 please? I am planning for my appraisal and job specs say master qualification, but I've no idea what would help my application 😁

    • @carolforde-johnston
      @carolforde-johnston  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sarah Louise 😊 it will depend on the mental health area in which you work and/ or the type of band 7, which your line manager should advise on in your appraisal. Where are you aiming for and/or what career path or band 7 role? For example, there are a wide range of MSc courses/ modules available, linked to leadership, education, specialist fields in mental health or research. If a clinical based band 6 to 7 there are lots of healthcare leadership MSc programmes relevant to all fields of nursing. Talk to educators & people in the post you aspire to, to ask about the best MSc courses in your chosen area to be sure. Universities will have a list of post-graduate healthcare related MSc or you may have in house specialist MSc courses available. Your local education lead should advise on courses too. Good luck 🍀

      @@carolforde-johnston thank you ☺️ I work in community mental health, will have a chat in the trust and see what I find ☺️

    • @carolforde-johnston

      @@SarahsGarden2024 Yes good idea there will be community based MSc courses too. There is a lot of choice out there Sarah but also you'll be led by what your line manager/ trust will fund& pay for as modules are expensive. It's good to find out what the trust will fund or if there is external funding you can apply for. Sometimes they will pay for a post-grad Diploma & then staff self-fund the rest to complete full MSc or some will fund full MSc . Make sure you ask about funding and what the trust will fund, along with how you secure funding on courses. The trust will definitely have a process in place for applying and should advise on modules they'll fund. Good luck xxx
