I flew the 787 exactly once. For that reason, I have also settled on the standard 2024 version.
Same. I went Premium Deluxe first time around. Standard will be perfectly sufficient this time, especially as I've just had to shell out on a better GPU and another 32GB of DDR5.
@@dannyboyy31 Plus, I now understand that even with 2024 standard edition we get to keep the 2020 premium deluxe aircraft and airports. I thought we would lose them. Having had them all, and dumped thousands into each (except xp that I did buy a ton for and supported but don't think I broke a grand) I was more than happy to do it. Plus, in this case I will save the extras and later sell them since I made triple my money back when I sold the MSFS 2004 extras, haha. I was sad to see it came with a scaled Herpa because 20 years ago I sold my ridiculously large collection and scaled airport that I built.
Why should I preorder? Is there a special discount now? Ok, I know, you get an extra plane now, but I’m not interested in it. So for me it’s at least waiting for the airport info.
I would consider myself somewhere in the middle of the road ... not casual and not hardcore sim. I really gravitate toward the GA planes and really enjoy the Cirrus SR22 and steam gauge 172 so I am probably going to get the Premium Deluxe edition. The new "Deluxe" GA planes are interesting to me as well. When 2020 came out, I bought the standard edition and eventually upgraded to the Deluxe Premium edition later. The upgrade cost difference was twice as much as it would have if I would have just bought that version originally - not making the same mistake again.
The choice dilemma I could take further by adding a version that is way less cumbersome. What about a version that is dtrastically scaled down so all the current features such as ponts of interrest, challengers, avitars, planning, ATC, and a whole host of things the diehard flight simmer never uses so that the sim loads at blinding speed?... I'd actually play more to have less if that meant fast loading times. Greetings from Australia.
if you are a simmer, you will get your own planes that you know every bottom will work , and im pretty sure i wont be flying 130 planes in one month , ... the reason i brought this is because i got a plane , i got my routes , and if i want to go some place , i just spoun in the field , idk it just me
The only time I have heard that an add on will interact with our edition is when someone released the 787-8 I think because the creator was based on the 787-10 which was in the premium edition, so if you haven’t that edition you could not use it. But it will certainly not be the case for airports because they create brand new ones not based on what you have on the sim
My favorite two aircraft for FS 2020 was the Cessna 172 and the T65B X-wing, which had a flight speed of 652 MPH. Hopefully FS 2024 will have aftermarket aircraft.
To me the Deluxe version probably makes most sense as a non-hardcore sim guy. Has some additional Cessnas that I would really want to have plus few airports. Not sure premium deluxe makes enough sense though. We’ll see.
I am very excited to give this game a try when it comes out, however i will be sticking with the standard edition as i feel happy enough for tgose aircraft that come with it
Standard is the obvious choice. Premium Deluxe/Deluxe includes a total of 3 aircraft I'd be mildly interested in, so it's not really worth the additional $60 cost to me. All of the new aircraft I actually want are in the Standard version, thankfully.
I have gamepass so i will get the base version as that. If there is a plane i want, i can just buy it later. Now the sad bit is the upgraded airports i wont get, but i had no problem with that with the last version of the sim. So it will be the base version for me.
I bought the standard. STILL waiting for that free plane........ Like you I jumped the gun back in 2020, and I was happier with 3rd party than anything MSFS /Asobo brought to the table. And they really did not bring a lot until people complained about the 787 being poorly rendered. Only then they made the updates to make it tolerable. When I think of MSFS, I think of my first 3rd party purchase of my Areosoft CRJ which is still fun to fly; Fenix and PMDG. I-fly is grabbing my attention and so is PMDG which when they release their version of the Max8, I will not hesitate to buy it. These developers won my faith, I just wish that PDMG did not play so much on their forums. They seem to like to mess with people. Cheers
I believe MS said you will be able to buy the PD & deluxe planes separately as addons. But not how much they will cost. A possible option, if you only want one or two.
Standard Edition. I am not interested in default aircraft, and there are almost as many upgraded airports in the Standard Edition as there are in the Aviators Edition. I generally use payware airports, so the hand crafted airports are bonuses if they are good enough for my requirements.
Thanks, you helped me clarify which edition I want. In reality, I mostly fly add on aircraft like pmdg, a2a because I really like the really detailled implementation of systems. Going to be Deluxe for me. I would have liked aviator but in Canada, it is close to 300$ with sale taxe, which is a lot!!
you also might want to consider getting the game on gamepass to try it on release and then upgrading to one of the upgrades. As someone who uses gamepass its a no brainer for me, tho it may not be for some people as the obvious downside is you need to stay subbed to gamepass
you can upgrade to any version,so i bought the deluxe version and will probably upgrade to the premium deluxe if there are any airports i want.i only really fly the Fenix a319/20/21,so might mess with a couple of the aircraft included.
As you say, different people have different interests. I, for example, have little interest in flying aircraft I wouldn't fly IRL, such as airliners, as my interest is mainly in GA a/c. I have the Premium Deluxe version of MSFS2020 and may get that level for 2024, as it includes a few* "must-haves." The real decision would be if Aviator is worth it (not just the price but the cluttered "hangar"). The thing is, I have five of the "Famous Flyers" but although the "cost per type" is low, Aviator is mostly historical a/c I may fly once, just to tick those boxes (there are only a couple that I don't already have that I'd likely fly regularly). I also have payware types, such as the C414, which had better work in 2024! *Although the best plan may be to start with the Standard Ed, depending on the cost of individual upgrades--you'd have to do the math. Anyway, no point in pre-ordering just to fly a plane you can't actually use as intended until 2024, plus it's wise to let the smoke clear to see, for example, which airports will be included.
I was dead on, on buying te Aviator Version but you really have me in a flat spin now. And the reason you have an effect on me is your reasoning. I think I'll settle for the Standard Edition. Problem however is that I dont always have the cash flow to buy new stuff as they available. I have the money now to get the Aviator Edition. Eish 😊😅😊😅
I fly my Comanche 90% of the time, some addon helicopters, the Fenix A320, and the PMDG 737 so the choice is easy for me. It should be the standard version. This being said, I am waiting for the actual launch and some real gameplay reviews. Maybe, Christmas present.
All I know that for Microsoft flight simulator 2020 that works with the premium deluxe that does not work with the basic one is a different 787 variant that requires you to own the 787 from the premium deluxe version to work, but I have not seen any other issues than that.
Looks like I'll be going Standard version after being stung an extra £20 (back then) for the Deluxe Superdooper Premium edition. As others have said, I've not flown the default B787 much, just a couple of occasions on long-haul flights. But so long as the world is the same in Standard, I'll opt for that. I doubt the 737-Max-8 will be study level, but iFly are on the verge of releasing theirs which I'm guessing will be exactly 737 times better than a default aircraft .Also I never get why GBP is exactly the same as USD. Great vid. Have a sub.
Other than having the potential for custom 3rd party improvements that often utilize the aircraft in the premium deluxe, I tend to fly airliners (fenix, pmdg) and other GA aircraft like TBM 850, PC-12, Learjet 35 etc.
I agree with AirNOTT 100%, I will buy only the standard as I did with MSFS 2020. Default aircraft are not very good, and I won't use them that much. How much time can you spend on each one when there are so many. I only fly 5 star aircraft like PMDG, and Fenix, and from Just Flight, Black Square, such as the BAE 146 and Turbine Duke. Default aircraft are not worth my time even for free, as I remove them from my community folder. I like to keep my storage lean and clean.
As i only fly Fenix and PMDG in 2020 im not interested in more planes..What i am interested in is the airports..particularly Australian airports as i am Australian and mostly fly here. So will wait to see what airports are added and go from there but at this stage probably std version.
I was very happy with the premium deluxe on 2020 but still replaced a lot of pemium/deluxe airports for payware, I'm not too bright sometimes. Maybe a little obsessed about every new airport sold. I will go with the premium/deluxe 2024 & hope a lot of 2020 payware works or can be made/paid to work. Too many choices & not enough info to say anything yet !
I’m getting the aviator…I would say I’m a hardcore gamer simmer. I enjoy vatsim and study level planes but also wanna fly stuff like the c17 and try the carrier .. I mean it’s a lot but 2020 brought me joy for like 4 years.. for 100$ and whatever addons so they deserve it. Still 100 times less than what I spent on Star citizen 😂😂😂
Same and I built a custom €7,000 pc for this game I also bought a €3,000 realistic plane cockpit setup in my room So total amount spent is close to €15,000 euros ONLY for this game. Cuz I didn’t include the smaller purchases
@@VXMnorway Aviator is a waste of money, if you are that serious about simming and aviation in general. The quality of the default planes are nowhere near to 3rd party aircrafts. Trust me, I have tried most of them and I can tell you as a real life pilot, that Fenix, iniBuilds, FBW are superior compared to any MSFS default aircraft. You should have a spent the difference on these aircrafts imo.
Im getting aviator to play with all the older planes from the 40s and 50s that microsoft has released but few others have. I've had fun with the midetn planes and will fly them again but planes like DC3 really intrigue me now. I want aviator to fly the beech and maybe stratoliner and Commando.
It is the Standard version for me, with the A350 and the A380 (hopefully) releasing soon I don't need much more planes than that, I don't fly GA so idc about them too.
For me I’m getting the premium deluxe, since I only really use the jetliners. The aviation edition doesn’t have any so there’s no point in me even considering that.
I'm tending to the standard Edition, 'cause I normally do add-on aircraft. But I wonder about the new career mode. Maybe it's good fun. And if it is, will the number of available jobs depend on the amount of included aircraft? Will the standard edition have less variety in career or regarding the challenges? So, I think I'll wait and see.
I'm also leaning towards the standard version because I already have the premium 2020 version. This means my add-ons will be carried over. The aircraft from the 2024 deluxe and premium versions for some reason just don't interest me that much.
yeah, standard for me.... they put the A10 Thunderbolt in standard, sorted....BRRRRRRRRRTTTTT!!!!! also F18, and some other little cool jet! Safe skys everyone!
Good ongoing debate! I am hard core by your definition. I buy study airports and aircraft. Similar to you, I have a limited number of aircraft. I think I will sit on the fence (which is tricky!!!) and wait for a while after release to decide which version. Also, have MSFS not stated that scenery for MSFS2020 will be compatible with MSFS24? And also, FSLabs, Quality Wings and Flight1 Max I suspect are waiting in the wings for MSFS24. Decisions, decisions.
Amazon has the steel box deluxe premium for $129.99, though I didn’t see any mention of the Herpa or flight bag. Odd seeing this since it would mean there are other options not mentioned elsewhere.
Biggest worry for me in the new updated amounts of internet speed needed. I’m currently capped at 30mbps which sucks and as this will be more a streaming game this could be an issue, so I’m going to wait and see what happens to others before buying.
I'm going Standard Edition and hopefully SAAB 340 will be available as a separate purchase :) Good, someone else thoughts like me ! I'd rather rely on 3rd party aircarfts, just like you. Wish there was an Zero Edition, with NO new aircrafts...for let's say $40US...and hey, you can always update later, right ?
Confused. I've purchased all the historic planes that interest me, in MSFS 2020. Doesn't that mean I can just buy MSFS 20204 Standard version, and all of those MSFS 2020 purchases will pipe over? Seems, in regard to aircraft, getting the Aviator version is really only beneficial for people newly coming into the sim. Am I missing something?
I don’t think that scenery think makes sense. The only reason for the different editions should just be for the aircraft and airport addons. For them to be basically separate sims and use different features just sounds insane to me. Not to mention nobody at Microsoft has said anything about it
I bought the aviators edition for €220 but went back on my decision and decided to request a refund. Mainly because they gave the information that if you had bought the premium deluxe MSFS2020 edition then you would also get those planes in the new 2024 sim. But now I’m left wondering if we will get the new versions of these aircraft like the 787 or just again the old version from 2020 which aren’t improved.. I would think not but idk. And they also said we could always upgrade later for the extra amount so I just bought the standard edition and put the rest of the money to a Honeycomb Bravo since I was still using a saitek throttle quadrant with my Honeycomb alpha.
It's unclear though if they're the same planes. You'll get say the 787 from 2020, but it's not clear if it's the same 787 that's in the 2024 premium delux. That might be a new version utilizing some of the new 2024 features.
I like the sound of being called a Digital Tourist lol. I will be playing on Xbox Game Pass for Windows, so it will be playing the standard edition. I might expand later when the price drops.
I have been flying a free version of the ATR 72-600 in MSFS 2020. I found it a really fun plane to fly and get good performance in the sim with it. MSFS 2020 add on planes are supposedly going to be compatible in FS 2024. So, I assume it will work.

I had similar thoughts, the standard edition seems great as is. The other editions just don't have enough for me given the price point.
I brought the premium delux edition, more than the additional planes, im more interested by the additional airports.
I really wanna try that dreamlifter and the C-17. Also excited by the A321 neo :D although thats in the standard edition.
To me the Deluxe version probably makes most sense as a non-hardcore sim guy. Has some additional Cessnas that I would really want to have plus few airports. Not sure premium deluxe makes enough sense though. We’ll see.
I fly the Cirrus SR22 all the time, especially after the upgrade. That makes the Premium Deluxe more attractive to me.
Standard for me, I like study level planes, and I have standard for 2020 and added many airports and I haven't had any problems.
I'm flying a c172 cockpit, so the basic is literally all I care about. Easy choice
I'm a real world heli pilot, so i neeeed the Chinook and H225, although I hope they work a lot better than the Bell 407 does in 2020
I am very excited to give this game a try when it comes out, however i will be sticking with the standard edition as i feel happy enough for tgose aircraft that come with it
Should I buy from steam or Microsoft? Which is easier to buy 3rd party add ons?
100% made me decide, thank you. Premium deluxe it is! I'd rather spend the extra on the planes I want by 3rd parties with more realism.
Standard is the obvious choice. Premium Deluxe/Deluxe includes a total of 3 aircraft I'd be mildly interested in, so it's not really worth the additional $60 cost to me. All of the new aircraft I actually want are in the Standard version, thankfully.
I have preordered the standard edition, and after seeing this, I think I made the right decision.
Standard version for me. I fly GA and nothing but (for now). Maybe I'll upgrade later if my interests change.
Standard Edition. I am not interested in default aircraft, and there are almost as many upgraded airports in the Standard Edition as there are in the Aviators Edition. I generally use payware airports, so the hand crafted airports are bonuses if they are good enough for my requirements.
interesting, I haven't been able to get any info on the handcrafted airports, which makes it hard to decide.
@@Donnycr As far as I am aware, they are improved versions of the existing hand crafted airports in MSFS 2020.
Yeah same. i wil buy the standard edition, mostly i fly FBW A320 and PMDG 737 on daily basis. So others are useless
The Pilatus PC-24, Saab 340 and GTX King Air pique my interest in the premium deluxe.
Great vid. Have a sub.
I'm playing on gamepass day one and ill know in few weeks if I will buy it or stay with 2020
Other than having the potential for custom 3rd party improvements that often utilize the aircraft in the premium deluxe, I tend to fly airliners (fenix, pmdg) and other GA aircraft like TBM 850, PC-12, Learjet 35 etc.
Standard. See no reason to pay more. Have all the planes i want already.
Premium Deluxe is a must for me, there is two must have helicopters!
I'm going all out!
I Pre-ordered The MSFS 2024 Aviator Edition from STEAM on 16 Oct,2024.
Same and I built a custom €7,000 pc for this game
I also bought a €3,000 realistic plane cockpit setup in my room
So total amount spent is close to €15,000 euros ONLY for this game.
@@VXMnorway hope you own real licence
Standard FTW! If... reviews of the release version warrant making the plunge into 2024.
Im getting aviator to play with all the older planes from the 40s and 50s that microsoft has released but few others have.
I've had fun with the midetn planes and will fly them again but planes like DC3 really intrigue me now. I want aviator to fly the beech and maybe stratoliner and Commando.
There's also the Aviator Edition. Planes look interesting, but would really like to know what airports include with these...
It is the Standard version for me, with the A350 and the A380 (hopefully) releasing soon I don't need much more planes than that, I don't fly GA so idc about them too.
Thanks buddy. You saved me 200$ I was gonna go all out and get that edition. I'm going to stick with the free gamepass version.
I'm thinking about getting the collectors edition. Do you guys think I should get it?
Does MSFS 2024 completely replace all MSFS 2020 functionality or is it intended to run side-by-side with MSFS 2020?
I'd prefer far more "upgraded" airports but just the base 70 aircraft. I wonder why they didn't consider this option?
yeah, standard for me.... they put the A10 Thunderbolt in standard, sorted....BRRRRRRRRRTTTTT!!!!! also F18, and some other little cool jet! Safe skys everyone!
If I say got the deluxe version could I upgrade to aviator by the price in between the two and not the full aviator price
Decisions, decisions.
will you be able to buy the planes on market place instead of buying the deluxe
Yes, they'll be in the marketplace individually.
Will we be able to use the aircrafts/add-on purchases from the previous Flight Simulator on Xbox? What about the Aviator edition?
Thank you for another post!!
Always been curious about the 340 as it has 4 engines when everything around it is 2
Dont think you can do that sir
You make some good points.
Thank you !!
Welcome!
Couldn't agree more with everything you said. Screw the stock crap that Microsoft puts out.
Am I missing something?
...you're not missing, it's like that.
Is the Prem deluxe going to be worth it for the airports for just the extra cash? Im a Vatsim hardcore and dont need the planes either
Now one thing im wondet is, if say you bought the aviators edition. Do you get those planes instantly in 2020 as well or just only for 2024
I'd rather get the standard and then hand pick what 3rd party planes I want. Quality can greatly vary.
I like the sound of being called a Digital Tourist lol. I will be playing on Xbox Game Pass for Windows, so it will be playing the standard edition. I might expand later when the price drops.
I don't see the ATR in any of the versions. That's worrying for me. I like the ATR.
I have been flying a free version of the ATR 72-600 in MSFS 2020. I found it a really fun plane to fly and get good performance in the sim with it. MSFS 2020 add on planes are supposedly going to be compatible in FS 2024. So, I assume it will work.
it's in the Aviator edition
Buy the standard version. You can always upgrade later, which almost no one does. But you can.
It costs more at the end of the day
@@LucaStabielGeaft in my exsperience you will not miss the planes and airports that the higher editions gives you. Much rather buy some third party stuff that I really like for the extra money. Now it is possible to rent planes as well. I will go for the standard.
@@LucaStabielGeaft had the same thought - but then i remember i did the same for 2020: I bought the standard version 2020 and then there was an easter offer for the premuim deluxe update. 50% or so off..... half a year later ... i guess we could see taht coming too for 24
If you buy the like most expensive one do you get all the other planes with it from the other versions?
I mostly fly helicopters (even though I have a lot of military jets and all the good airliners getting dusty in the hangar lol) ... H145 (Yorkshire Air Ambulance liveries...love it!!)...H47-D Chinook, (Fantastic flight model... maybe the best of any aircraft I have experienced on 2020! ) and my new favourite the UH1-Huey (for its ridiculous flight model... you can do full loops rolls and spins 😂 or best of all ...a combination of all 3 in single maneuver 😮... crazy bird lol!!.... I sometimes draw crowds haha... I bet it looks like a 3D acro RC helicopter 😂 ... Makes my heart beat pretty fast when I'm in the zone with people watching lol!! (I don't think full size helicopters are supposed to be able to do that... but it feels and probably looks amazing so I can't complain 😌 lol)
So I am mainly after HPG H225! Damn that's a big helicopter!! It sure is a lot of extra money for one helicopter 🤷♂️🤦♂️ but ... I'm that kinda guy so.... sign me up haha!... I just reqlly hope the UH1 flight model doesn't change too much on the switch over to the new physics of 24 ... I still would like to be able to my stunts 😂😂😂
Lollll
I think the there will also be a lot free planes in flight sim to.
I will get the Premium Deluxe because I really missed the 787 in the last Sim
I bought the steam premium deluxe 2020, why is there no discount on for example 2024 aviators? since i own quite a few planes more than someone not owning any 2020 edition
How much we spend on pc's peripherals etc. The amount between them is pretty insignificant. Think i may even go with the aviator version given how many hours fun i get out of it....
Do we know if MSFS2020 aircraft will be compatible with 2024? If so, I’ll probably go with a lesser version.
Can you upgrade after buying the standard edition, or do you have to pay the full price of the better ones even if you've already purchased standard? If you can upgrade, what have you got to lose by trying standard first?
