MSFS 2024 Editions Compared: Why Premium Deluxe Stands Out!

- In this video, I break down all the available editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and explain why I believe the Premium Deluxe Edition is the perfect choice for most simmers! 🛫
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 offers several editions: Standard, Deluxe, Premium Deluxe, Aviator’s, and Collector’s Editions-each adding new aircraft, features, and premium content. While the Standard Edition covers all the essentials, and the Aviator’s Edition gives you the most aircraft, the Premium Deluxe Edition hits the sweet spot by providing a great variety of aircraft and additional handcrafted airports without going overboard. ✈️

I will wait and see what quality those aircraft and airports are along with how much improved the sim itself is before making a purchase.
I will do the same . Especially, I'm going to build a new rig for it that can maxout graphic settings at 60fps .
The career mode is main selling point for me so instant buyout for me and Premium deluxe is the best value for me because it include 4 planes that I wanted to fly.
@@Asag321 Career mode is interesting, but how fleshed out and enjoyable it will be we don't know.
Beta access should answer some of those questions.
I went for the Premium Deluxe yesterday because I'm gonna have more options for my career mode, more planes for each career path, Aviator is more specific historical planes which I didn't really care about, I have IL-2 for my WWII dose.
As a business strategist, Microsoft has deployed a tried and tested psychological pricing model. That is to give consumers a set range of pricing options, each with a set of seemingly unique pros and cons. However, Microsoft's entire business plan will be underpinned by a weighting to who buys what. The largest weight will be on the Premium Delux option. It's positioned to be 'perceived' to be the best value for money, both in options and in its packaging and design. I would put large amounts of money on it that when the Q1 sales results are revealed, the units sold splits between the packages is going to be the following (5% margin of error). Standard 10%, Deluxe 25%, Premium, 55%, Aviator, 10%. Cant wait to see the results :)
I’ve purchased almost all Msft/Asobo aircraft for 2020 and fly many of them, so I got that out of the way with the Aviators edition.
Out of curiosity I checked my X Box points and realized it came to $160, So glad I checked. I pre ordered the aviation addition. People with an X Box should check their points. You might be surprised.
I've asked myself a few questions. Do I fly a lot of default aircrafts? ..No Do I fly to a lot of default airports? ..No Is it likely for me to fly over 70 aircraft? ..No Do I buy/use a lot of 3rd party airports? ..Yes Do I buy/use a lot of 3rd party aircraft? ..Yes(almost exclusively) ... Do I need to buy anything more than the Standard edition. ..NO
Likewise
I concur
I still remember fs2k where you needed the professional edition for a lot of third party aircraft to work. I need to get out of that mindset.
Good approach. For me, the premium paid for itself in that the default bespoke airports saved me from buying a few of them instead, plus there are default aircraft in that package I do indeed fly.
For me A Century of Flight was best. I could care less about the aircraft or the airports, I want to see the scenery and historic sites and events. They should put That into this new version.
I bought Deluxe in 2020 but going with Premium Deluxe in November.
One factor not mentioned is that Jorg has said that the price of future local legends and famous fliers will continue to be discounted if you buy the deluxe and above levels.
Even though I currently fly 3rd party aircraft, I went with the Premium Delux.
I am planning to go with the Aviator. My first flights were in the Piper J3, I was four. I started in the PA 18 for my pilot's license then a J3. My father was in the Army Air Corp, so I lean toward the historic aircraft, I have not had a flight sim since FSX and was very excited to see FS 2024 and was in a rush to get it, but my nephew and I have to build a PC for it. He helped me build the PC I had the FSX on. I am not in such a rush nowd and am thinking about waiting a bit to see how all you guys like it.
Have they updated the scenery I’ve got so used to 2020 and Google maps enhancer and traffic injection do I really want to change at all and have to learn a new interface and flight planning system?
Bog standard entry level edition im not biting on sub par crap like I did with 2020 - I dont have time for tons of aircraft so no temptation there, I want to get more proficient with the ones Ive purchased so im just going to wait and see if my Fenix, Twin Otter and A2A Comanche can be ported over before I even think of putting out for 2028 I mean 2024
Have Premium Deluxe 2020 but will go Standard Edition for 2024 because I have more than 200 marketplace airports and numerous study level aircraft that I am already invested in - so I am basically only interested in the new engine and hope that my purchases will just carry over and be supported by the 3rd party developers to do so.
For anybody who has spent so much $$$ in the marketplace already, I do not see anything substantially interesting that the other versions would add. I am a real world pilot btw. and the default Asobo stuff does not really cut it for me to be honest - also most of their airports have been deleted and replaced by better payware alternatives in my library.
Agreed. Least poor value out of all. Some considerations would include (for me) which extra add ons I already have, and there are a few I simply wouldn’t fly much at all. The airports are the draw for me. Isn’t it? 👍🏾
For me its going to be premium deluxe this time around. With 2020 I wasn't sure how much I would get into the game so only went with standard. If they had offered a reasonable price path to upgrade from standard to premium deluxe 2020 I would have upgraded once I found I was really getting into the game. But since they never offered that I have had to wait until now.
Aviators for me. Almost did collectors, because I'm a nerd, but the shipping cost $53 killed the deal.

For me personally, after a bit of thinking, I've chosen the Standard version. The reason being, is that I tend to fly a lot of addons. So I'll get the addon airfields that I can transfer over from MFS2020, along with all the current addon aircraft. As new airfields and aircraft come to MSFS2024, I can choose what I like to put into the sim.
I own Premium Deluxe 2020 and have decided to go with the Aviator Edition.

I go by the following:
1. Never preorder anything but you do you.
2. It's on Gamepass day 1 - this is a no brainer because we all know it will be suboptimal at launch and doing this gives me time to get familiar with Sim and decide what I want before buying outright.
3. The additional aircraft and scenery are not locked to the editions as they were previously so you now get to choose your own upgrade path.
4. Don't regret.
Got the Collector's edition. Didn't want to regret not getting it. It's sold out now.
Premium deluxe for me like last time. I bought most of the famous flyers etc. just to support the sim and hopefully encourage Asobo/Microsoft to continue development, so no point buying them all again. Especially as I never use them anyway. Premium Deluxe is probably your best "bang for buck" if you are getting into the sim.
Great video but I'm still hesitating 🤔
Do you now in which edition are the Lido Charts included?
I've pre-ordered the premium deluxe edition at $169 cad. I own the premium deluxe edition of FS2020 and it seems to be the best 'bang for the buck'. I do not buy payware planes or scenery so this edition gives me enough variety.
Thanks for another great review, excellent information.
I’m thinking premium deluxe sounds a good choice 👍
Premium Deluxe for me because I already have all of the aircraft in the aviator edition I want. I’m assuming those planes will automatically updated since I’ve purchased them. The Airbus H225 looks exciting.
Yes, I’m also assuming those planes you paid for in MSFS2020 are going to be available and upgraded to MSFS 2024. Are we wrong?
@@jameneto my understanding is that they will be available. The only reason to get the aviator edition is if you’ve never purchased any of those planes. Now you can get them for about 2.30$ each which is pretty good. In my case I already got the ones I liked.
@@stefanblackadder5236 exactly, that makes perfect sense. So, it doesn’t matter which version you buy, you’re gonna have those planes you already bought for MSFS2020, in MSFS2024. Thank you!
Standard for hard-core simmers with previous addon
Still get black screens on my Xbox s. I’ll use game pass as no room in Xbox storage and I want both
Standard Edition will be enough for many including me.
Will buy Aviator Edition
Standard for me
MS is hoping you re-pay for planes you frequently fly in 2020. $ca-ching$
However, Jorg said your current planes from 2020 will be included in your upgrade to 2024. Only pay for the new planes you want. You will have the option to purchase individual planes in 2024. Do the math to see which is cheaper. $200 for all planes instead or just a few planes. Eventually, they will be on sale for us budget minded addicts.
I am also going Premium Deluxe Edition cause I realy don't need aircraft just updated ones so I could actually fly asobo planes and not just my other planes. I won't get anything now absolutely nothing till june 2025 my bday month. Hope Asobo won't spend so much time on scenery and forget about the planes like last time. oh baron steam guages ??
I just bought the standard edition 😅😅😅
I agree that the Premium Deluxe is the way to go and I was going to go with the Premium Deluxe like I did with MSFS20 but, when my mom asked me if I could wait until Christmas to get it, then she'd get me the Limited Collectors Edition as my "big gift", I was like, "Uh, yeah!" So, that is the one I'll be getting which I am pretty stoked about to be honest. It'll be cool to have the An-225 model and the flight bag, and all the other stuff. I'll do an unboxing video when I finally get it in December.
PREMIUM DELUXE EDITION HERE!
So you're buying planes that you purchased on 2020
I will go with your recommendation Chick for sure. Great video as always. It really helps in the decision making. Best
130$ = 129£ what a bunch of thieves
You've stumbled into the wrong hobby.
I’m afraid you made a mistake when you came to the conclusion that flight simming would be cheap.
Wait until you see third-party addons 😂
Their point is that at the current exchange rate $130 should equal £99.
I'm going to buy it in Rupees
