Finally some clear directions on how to tune this beast...you have pointed out some flaws in the printed directions. I could never get this tuned following the service manual! Thank you for posting
Strange, I just finished working on a Pro-One (great tutorial btw), but for the osc A & B offset step, I was able to tune to 440Hz with the octave set at "1" as described by the service manual.
I just traded for one of these but am looking for aggressive bass sounds but haven't learned this synth yet. Would you recommend trading and paying more for a Miinimoog or should I try to learn this? Can it get aggressive bass or funk bass like Moog?
The Pro One is a great synth and I would suggest you play with it a bit more before you give up. It might sound a bit different from a Mini but I love the bass you get from this synth just as much, of course it is a matter of taste.
I have an Analog Discovery 2, by Digilent, that I bought used off E@#$ and built into a rack mounted switchable dummy load setup. It allows me to monitor small signals as well as larger audio power signals (between 1 and 200 watts) across 4, 8 or 16 ohm loads, and also has a waveform generator built in. I might make a video about the setup some time, but the whole thing cost ~$300
Hi, to probe both waves at the same time on one channel of the scope, do you probe at the junction of R147 and R148? I can't find where the point is indicated in the service manual...
I am not quite sure what you are asking but the answer is "NO", since R147 and R148 are not connected at all, they are part of the CV circuits for OSC B, so no wave per se. If you are asking about the sum of the Oscillators, each oscillator generates multiple waves, but they are summed and can be observed at the input to the VCF, PIN 1 of U111, the CEM 3320. If you examine the schematic you should be able to clip onto one side of R1159, R1147, R1152 or R1148. It occurs to me now you may have meant to say R1147 and R1148? In that case the answer is "YES" you can clip onto the junction, towards the top of the PCB or the back of the instrument.
@@telefunkian Thanks, Sorry i meant 1147 and 1148, i misread because the img resolution quality of the service manual is poor. Yes on the same point there is also the noise output R1152.
@@telefunkian My pro one i had bought broken and i had repaired it without calibrating it, i had put it aside. Finally I didn't manage to probe pin 1 U111, i probed on the potentiometers mixer OSC A and OSCB, i managed to calibrate it, but i find that for a mono, it is difficult. Thanks this video helped me a lot.
@@aciderrant2983 I'm glad to hear it, and glad to see people learning and taking this stuff on themselves. I find it gives me a whole new respect for the folks who designed and built these things in the first place, small teams of folks 40 years ago, shoestring budgets, pre-internet. Enjoy!
I’ve got a Behringer pro 1. I tuned it up with oscillators on zero with no issue. When k tune them both down to -5, Osc A is flat and I have to tune it up to around -4. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you found the video helpful!
Brilliant.saved me a tonne of time. Really easy to understand . Thank you
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it useful.
Grazie infinite per il tuo tutorial….❤

Hey Telefunkian, should the keyboard when it’s all calibrated and tuned be at pitch with the frequency knobs at 0 or 12 o clock?
That's a great question, I believe it is with the individual OSC Frequency knobs at 0, but the Master Tuning at 12 O'clock, also labelled zero.

Hey Telefunkian - which Oscilloscope program is that?

The reason I use it a lot in videos is it allows me to screen capture from the Mac that I can then sync to the other cameras.
Thanks@@telefunkian ! A video on your Oscillator would be super interesting.

Shane, sorry for the slow reply but I just saw this. I have zero information on the Behringer copy of the Pro 1 so I don't think I can help you.
Why 2 ads ???
Sorry Sel Bel, I'm not sure I understand your question... did you see ads watching the video? You should not se any, my videos are not monetized?
