- Mathew Jonson is back for his next in-depth look at his all-time favourite synthesizers, shining a spotlight on the Sequential Pro One for Telekom Electronic Beats TV. A classic from 1981 that’s still widely sought after to this day, it’s a flexible piece of hardware that saw Sequential successfully reworking their existing Prophet 5 into a compact and affordable monophonic unit.

Can I also add that it makes a huge difference that the audio and voice were properly recorded and someone has obviously gone through the entire video to mix the levels so you can hear Mathew or the Pro-One where applicable. Thank you for doing it thoroughly! Surprising how often this isn't done in even professional videos.

Never played a Pro One, but was always fond of it. I never knew how deep you could go with it.

Rests can be programmed with the sequencer If you toggle the play/record switch to play then back to record. Great video.

Gave mine to my brother in law 30 years ago. Crappy keybed and those slider awitches are not great but what a sweet sound.

Yes, not included. One of the best features. Sometimes they do two videos for a synth, so maybe another one is coming.
Very cool demo of the modulation features which is a big feature of it. Seems you have the Rev 1. I am modifying mine with a brand new toroidal supply. I have installed midi , and replaced the modwheel section. The springs in the knobs rust, which I found brand new ones for I had to buy in bulk. My favourite since.

I play a Minimoog and Mono/Poly. Curious if you've played/owned either and if so what you like better on the Pro-One?
Pro one is kind of industrial but in a electic way, buzzy. The noise with a spanny envelope gives it very spitty character, almost a rusty metal feel. Mono Poly to me is more closer to computer vibes, SID like, similar to sh 101, but cleaner

Mathew, SH-101 and Pro One both have the same OSC chips but the filter is different. So how different do they sound?

I just ordered a Krog NTS1 and a Behringer TD-3. I'm hoping I can get some similar effects. I always wanted that Pro-One.

Did Bjork use this synth on her song army of me? That synth has the characteristics of this one.
Fluke used it . They made violently happy so maybe Bjork falled in love with the synth

Looks like Will Ferrell after a heavy night out. Awesome demo though, I had no idea the pro one could do so much. I’ve got a vintage minimoog and a moog prodigy and neither have any of these features!
