Stephan Sterns should he face castration like the State Louisiana does
Murder Charges: Stephan Sterns, the boyfriend of Madeline’s mother, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Madeline Soto’s death. An Osceola County grand jury returned the indictment against him.
Sex Crimes Charges: In addition to the murder charge, Sterns faces 60 charges related to sex crimes against Madeline. These charges range from possession of child sex abuse material to sexual battery of a child under 12.
The question on everyone’s mind: Will Sterns be directly charged with Madeline’s murder? The answer is YES Charged today with Murder 1st Degree Capital is Stephan Sterns
To recap, Madeline Soto vanished on February 26, 2024. Surveillance footage captured Sterns disposing of items in a dumpster near their apartment complex. Among the discarded belongings were Madeline’s backpack and school laptop. Authorities believe Madeline was already deceased at that time. Her lifeless body was later discovered in the woods off Old Hickory Tree Road in Osceola County.
Sterns now faces that include sexual battery of a child, lewd and lascivious molestation, and possession of child sexual abuse material. The severity of these charges could lead to life imprisonment or even the death penalty.
In a surprising twist, Sterns waived his arraignment, initially scheduled for today's pre-trial hearing, April 24th, with a trial expected on May 13th. However, with the change today, the pre-trial will be in July, 10th 2024, with a trial date scheduled for August 19th. 2024

i need to share my situation. i am a Serious Victim of identity theft. All my money has been stolen. All of my stock accounts were zeroed out in 2018. This is only one of many, many offenses against me. The DA thinks i should put all this into a book. Every Law Enforcement Division is working on my case. Discovery of all these actions had been occurring to me since my husband passed in 2016. The DA, Elder Abuse, PD Detective, IRS, OSBI, and as of about a month ago, the FBI, are all assisting me. The IRS assigned a personal advocate to me. All my stock accounts were zeroed out and no taxes paid. Meaning it looked like i did it and owed $64,000. in taxes owed on it!! All these offenses had been occurring until discovered in July of 2023. It would take at least a single spaced legal pad page to list all the offenses he has committed. (and they say his wife is culpable also). He has done so many things they can't believe it. it was an accident that it was discovered and after learning that, the offenses continued to be discovered daily. i am 83 in September and i went from not having a money worry in the world to overnight having to use gift cards for groceries and my Church had to pay my water bill. i have so many other stories about so much of this that you would listed to,... with your mouth open. The DA said he believes that he and his wife thought I would just die and no one would find out. There is so much more. i have shared only a BB in a box car worth of this story. i can't afford an attorney so i was advised by a law firm on what needed to be done and i have done it all. Binders and time lines. They are going to video me so if i pass before this comes to fruition they will still prosecute as if i were still alive.

It's probably because medical treatment is considered torture if it's done for other reasons than to diagnose and treat illness if it is done without consent. The general exception to this is treatment for severe mental illness or to treat addicts.
I voted "other" (the 3rd alternative) partly for that reason. I don't think from a princip that medical staff should carry out a punishment, maybe ok, have the local sheriff cut it off then perhaps. But better save the medical resources to help the victims.
Another is for the specific case of Sterns I think it's redundant if he get life in prison or preferably death penalty. I doubt it would be more of a deterrent factor, Sterns did it and from what it looks death penalty did not deter him from killing Madeleine.
It can be a thing useful with perps who are to get out of prison BUT as regards quite many rapists as an example they are not doing it out of lust at all. Some of them don't even used their penis, so they could still be able to carry out sexual violent crime even if castrated.
For the deterrence, isn't it possible that a sex offender could be more dangerous, to kill his victim for not leaving a witness?

My daughter's rapist, who was also my husband, her step dad, told my daughter, that he would kill me, her brother and our dogs if she told anyone. He violated her for 7 years, under my nose .. he is now serving life for what he did.

I am a violated female myself, started when I was in a high chair, by my own bio dad, then again by my uncle, at 9 and raped at 23....My Husband, is also a victim of molestation, by a Family member..It Ruins a Child's life, for LIFE...in this case Maddy Soto, This little endured so much for so long, then to have her life taken after all she went through...PHYSICAL CASTERATION... CASTRATION , THEN PUT INTO GENERAL POP

It should be done before he enters the prison to start serving his sentence. It's not that harsh a punishment considering the crime. It's done to pets & livestock all the time. DP is harsher.

In Canada, we are too soft on crime. Bernardo, a designated dangerous offender, is serving a life sentence for kidnapping, torturing and killing Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy in the early 1990s. He was also found guilty of the manslaughter and sexual assault of his 15-year-old sister-in-law, Tammy Homolka. Paul Bernardo went from maximum to medium security prison. The decision was met with intense backlash from many Canadians. The government did nothing about this transfer, they just let it happen.
That and the fact that Karla Homolka walks free is a crime in itself .

Hello, DutyRon. I'm a whopping 43 years old and I've never even heard of any form of court ordered castration. Never heard of the chemical castration, never even heard a conversation about it, other than, of course, angry people who care about victims or their family members. So, "street castration". But I've never even ever heard of case where a family member or other has actually done that either. This is a conversation that needs to put out to the universe LOUDER. People need to know that they can go Congress and fight/vote for this law in every state of America. And use Louisiana as an example of already doing this.
Taking away parts of the „hardware“ does not necessarily change the „software“.
I think there are a lot of TH-camrs out there who need to run for office. Our country needs some common sense. I don't care what political party. Life is hard enough, why make it easier for CRIMINALS and more difficult for the rest of us?

Is there the potential for the person castrated to become violent and maybe even become a serial killer?
aggression and even violence can be fueled by testosterone. no testicles, no testosterone. Not to say it couldn't happen, but the idea is that most violent offenders will be incapacitated from violent tendencies.
In dealing of my own s.a. it was discovered that there was this type of perpetrator in my family, same mother, different father. We didn’t grow up with him in same home. We as previous marriage children felt he was weird even as a child. It was discovered that he did things to someone in my mums home, again and again & again. It split the family up to never recover. He went to prison & is still locked up to this day. On occasions he has worked to get out this mental institution he was then found to have videos of females under 14 on his computer & was reported again. It takes many years before you can wake up each day without it being the first thing thought of each day.
