Sophie runs around so fast you can't tell she's a dog; she looks like a hamster. Chaos is funny though. The way he vocalizes his confusion and interest is outstanding. Incredible to think that Sophie has absolutely no fear of the dog that is 100x her size, just tons of curiosity and wants sooo much to get him to PLAY with her. Great vid, thanks.
When we had our Yorkie, we had a much bigger dog mistake him for a 'stuffed toy".....the bigger dog found out REALLY fast that our little guy was 10 times as ferocious.....he sent the bigger dog packing, tail tucked and yiping the whole way trying to get away from our little 5lb terror, haha.
I have a 2.5 lb micro Yorkie. I am very cautious with her, but every big dog that sees her instantly become very protective of her or they want her to play. When she gets nervous my 12 lb poodle steps in. It's amazing to see.

It's one of the things they were bred for and they have a really strong instinct to sound the alarm so you know they perceive a danger. You can desensitise them to different sounds, you can work with them to lower their urge to shout at every little thing and you can teach them the noises you actively want them to give you an alarm call if they hear. But it's a huge amount of work each day, starting from when they're about 10 weeks old. You need to spend minimum of an hour a day on training, broken up into short stints through the day while they're still small, slowly working up to a solid 2 hours a day of work together. You'll need to enrol them in agility classes, as well as the usual dog training classes all dogs should get. It's really important to only use positive reinforcement techniques, treat training, lots of praise when they get it right, ignore any times when they fail to respond correctly to the command. Give them lots of exercise, lots of play time and incorporate treat training into play sessions. To the dog they are one and the same. Don't take on a dog of this breed if there isn't someone home full-time with them, or where a couple have a staggered work pattern so one is always at home. Be aware you might end up with a dog that just wants to laze around napping all day. My Yorkie, The Gizlet, spends most of his life in bed cuddled up to me as I'm mostly bedbound. He wants very little time playing with his toy, he only has the one that he prefers over all others, he sleeps in his crate at night and most of the time hates going for walks. He doesn't really like other dogs much but he adores humans and human interaction. I didn't get him until he was 13 months old. Dogs have a window of time when they are puppies when they need to experience every type of interaction in the world before that psychological window closes. If you don't start fully socialising them during that period then you have a higher risk of your dog struggling with many aspects of life in the future. Unfortunately that window is shortened even further by when the pups have to wait for their vaccinations. Otherwise without their jabs they can catch some very unpleasant, and in some cases lethal, illnesses and be in a huge amount of distress and pain while suffering. But you can start lots of training at home in that time at least!

I love the way the little tyke keeps hiding beside the the dogs legs, it will take no time before they are friends and playing together, as long as the big one doesn't sit on the small one they should be fine 😂
Beautiful shepherd. I had one for years when I was younger, but she was never around other animals in her puppy years. Found out the hard way she couldn't be. Was a great dog as long as she was no where near another animal

He could hurt or kill it on accident, it happens all the time. It's not safe to let such a large dog play with a tiny puppy at first, especially when the german shepherd is so excited.

These are my favorite lil dogs iv always wanted one cuz they can go anywhere you can & unlike bigger dogs there is a lot less chance of not paying attention to your pet cuz it’s to big to to keep with u at all times like say sitting with you on the couch - bed & watch TV lol

No such thing as a micro yorkie; AKC states yorkies are "toy"; micro, teacup, mini, are terms used to get more money off buyers.
