My very first concert of Mylene.
Everyone was sweating at the end of the song due to the jumping and singing🤣.
This song is in fact very long, you have an organ intro with spoken words and people carrying big candlesticks into the dark then the song, then the encore where she presents everyone on stage.
Not a lot of effects like nowadays, screens etc. but I remember that the lighting effects were over the top.

This concert is even lowkey weird to watch since it’s the only one where she is so energetic, only one where she runs and jumps like that. Young (well she was 28) Mylene is super refreshing and a very nice change to see when you are watching 1989.
Also please definitely do Tristana from this concert! It’s just as theatrical as Libertine. One of her best performances from this concert in my opinion.
Getting some sort of album reaction would also be a great surprise, especially if it would be one from 1988-2005 (her golden era)!

OMG Libertine! 1989! I remember trying the dance in my parents living room. And oh Dereck it is definitly Sofie: she was one of the backdancers the whole show, because Tristana was also played and she danced a prominent role in the live version of sans contrefacon.....

Such a shame it's not the full version, the end is mindblowing. My very first concert, in the first row, I still have some photos and Mylène seems to look at me. From that show, I would recommend you Maman a tort, because it's her very first hit, because there is Carol Frederiks who was also in François Feldman's "joue pas" and because it is also one of her anthems, a vey ambiguous song. Next times, you really need to watch and listen to the 1989 live versions of "POURVU QU'ELLES SOIENT DOUCES", "TRISTANA", "SANS CONTREFAÇON", "ALLAN" and "PLUS GRANDIR"__you'll love them all and totally lose your bananas! Trust me. Keep up the good work, Dereck. Take care.

Yes, you re right, that song had been covered for a more modern version in 2002 by Kate Ryan, it was good but I think we prefer the original. Mylene has something more poetic, hypnotic in her songs, we know that since Maman a tort in 1984, her first song ever, when she was unknown. Libertine was probably the song which revealed that fantastic singer with red hair, as Like a virgin was for Madonna. Fun Fact, there s a debate between Mylene fans and Lady Gaga fans about the song Born this way which could have been inspired from Libertine in her main melody.

The dancer is Sophie Tellier ^^. You're right, there's a dance version of Libertine and each time Mylène sing this song live the version is different (1996 very rock and 2009 very punchy and funny). The next song could be C'est Dans l'Air live or Diabolique Mon Ange Live or another song from the 1989 live (Allan, Sans Logique, Je voudrais tant que tu comprennes...). It was really an event concert at the time, today maybe a little outdated (if you compare with her other shows), but again for the time
it was completely insane. I definitely adore Bruno Fontaine's orchestrations. It's a shame on the other hand that the video is
truncated, the finale with the presentation of the musicians has disappeared. It is rare for MF to present her musicians, she will also

Indeed, this is not the whole version.. you haven't seen the final which is absolutely amazing and terrific : the music stops, then re-starts, then stops.. It goes crescendo also with the backing vocals where you can hear Carole Frederick and Becky Bell shouting..

"Dreaming" is the last song of this show so is very moving, everybody is crying lol ;). Mylene is known for her entrances but also for the end... so I let you guess and check ^^

I was so fascinated that when Mylene did her first concert tour she did 8 concerts EACH DAY!!! and in total 68 concerts in a few months time!
Please react to Plus Grandir from the 89 concert @ th-cam.com/video/QcxaOIJqKDc/w-d-xo.html. This song was on the live cd but was omitted from the dvd, along with Allan, as well. This dvd was not released until 2019 - 30 years after the original concert. It holds all her earlier singles from Maman a Tort to A Quoi Je Sers - all great performances.

Yes! I agree! Like for "Maman A Tort" her debut single in March 1984, he should watch and react on the music video before watching the Live Version 1989 even if I like this version too. This was a great concert, i went to this with my mum and dad when on holiday( still have the merch) when i was 8 Just such a shame-Myléne Farmer never did a duet with Kate Bush in their career.
That would of been soooo EPIC!
So when you said you couldn't of taken yourself to it as you were 4, you could of still be taken to it with your family on holiday!
My first concert was when i was 2 but don't remember it, but y 2nd is when i was 4 which i do remember which was A-ha :-)
