      I’m not sure on the subs to be honest. I know the TH-cam algorithm tends to favor larger creators now, but I think some of it is on me for not knowing the “TH-cam Game” well enough. Still working on figuring it out.

    Do you use straight braid on all your setups for snake or a leader?

    • @KambotroutFishing
      @KambotroutFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Father Of 4 Fishing straight braid. I’ve never had an issue with snakehead being line shy nor have I had any real problems with them line cutting 👍
      A snakehead’s teeth are designed more for gripping than cutting.
      The only caveat is that I’ve only ever fished for them in stained or tannic water. I’m not sure if they’d be line shy in clear water or not.

      Thanks much!
      The primary lure I used this day was the 4” MegaBass Spark Shad in chartreuse on a 4/0 Gamagatsu, rigged weightless.
      The line was 20lb suffix braid, but I recommend 30-40lb if you’re in heavier grass and cover.
      The rods and reels were primarily 6.5’ - 7’ medium heavy, fast action rods. Penn Fierce II spinning reel.
      No leaders for snakehead. I run straight braid without issue.

    Man I've been absolutely struggling to catch one at my spot this year. I've thrown everything in my box from spinners to swimbaits to weightless flukes slow twitching, I've thrown swimbait spinners, just about everything in my arsenal and went and bought a few more things and just cant get them to bite for nothing

  • @theperfectpaintertoolreview
    @theperfectpaintertoolreview 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What would u recommend this time of year, mid summer when it's really hot outside? Im having trouble getting them to bite, I think their staying down deep in cooler water

    • @KambotroutFishing
      @KambotroutFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right now the bite is tough in a lot of locations because of the spawn. When they’re pairing and spawning, they rarely bite or bite short.
      This time of year, live white perch and bluegill can do very well for live bait. For lures, I use small, often white topwater frogs and mice, along with buzzbaits, inline spinners, chatterbaits, and swimbaits

    • @theperfectpaintertoolreview
      @theperfectpaintertoolreview 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KambotroutFishing thanks, makes sense, I've had some hit on frogs but no hook ups. No luck on any other lures. I had one play with my live bluegill but wouldn't take take it, maybe it's cuz of the spawn.

  • @deannakoa3
    @deannakoa3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should have a floating cooler or a crate and tire thumper on your skiff to thump the fish and kill them ... Then bleed the fish out for good taste . these fish are great table fair and also invasive . Your not suppose to return them its the law . catch and keep no limit either
