49:00 Dave....just let the dude answer the CW vs CCW question....let him hang himself with his answer. To Witsit....can you debate your question without involving a, "Would you agree XYZ?" questions....just put your facts and explanations on the table....and Dave.....just let him. @ProfessorDaveExplains Bud, not everyone that offers you constructive criticism is against you Bud. Possibly, just possibly, you could hone your debate techniques a little better. God forbid.
@@ProfessorDaveExplains This is my first time seeing the guy. I'm guessing you've either debated him or have seen him debate before so you undoubtedly know what he's going to say in your head so interrupting his expected answer makes sense....save for those of us who didn't know where he was going to go with it. I was served up this video, no doubt, because I frequently view TQ's videos. I clicked on it because I'm legitimately fascinated by the justifications that flat earthers put forth and it really feels like a mentality similar to The Cult of the Dead Stock where believers will continue to dream up an explanation to keep their false reality afloat. My frustration lies in that, due to the frequent interruptions (on both your parts), I wasn't able to get as much understanding into the warped logic of one of the movement's (I'm guessing) more profilifc members as I thought I would have for a 1:45 video. I have nothing against you taking this FE'er on, just expressing frustration that it turned out to be an arguing match instead of a debate. I'm not captain debate either so just conveying some frustration and constructive criticism. It's your prerogative to dismiss it, totally get it. In any event, I appreciate the prompt reply (which was unexpected). Make it a great day.
To be fair, Jeremy's interruptions were a source of frustrations as well. Hats off to him for choosing to moderate. He could hone some of those skills as well. Alas, we can't all be Joe Rogan (i.e. letting people just talk)
There must be some of them who think like that... like they might get a free ride to space. Let's face it, it's basically impossible unless you're a trained astronaut or incredibly rich

Here’s a TL;DR for this video: In the first 2 minutes, Dave outlines everything Austin plans on using as an argument in this debate and explains why all of it is wrong. For the rest of the debate, Austin proceeds to do everything Dave said he would do. In the meantime, the moderator apologizes for taking up too much of their time while actively taking up too much of their time.
Spot on. This "debate" was laughably bad thanks to the moderator who talked more than the 2 guest. From the jump, Dave tried to drill about the stars going 2 directions and the mod jumped in and changed the topic. Debate derailed from that point.
You warned us, but I didn't think it would be this bad. The ""moderator"" won't shut the fuck up! I am typing this as he has been monologuing for several minutes at 49:55 This makes me want to stop watching.

A brief debunk of Austin’s coffee cup caustic nonsense: In his model the Sun is low and to the edge of the dome in order for the light to bend around the entire flat Earth Antarctic ring. But let’s remember that this is supposedly simulating the winter solstice… when the Sun is directly over the Tropic of Capricorn. People in São Paulo Brazil will see the Sun directly overhead at noon on the solstice. Austin’s ‘model’ places the sun just above the horizon from this vantage point. So yeah, in typical flerf style, Austin pulls a ‘model’ out of his butt to try and explain ONE observation, but then ignores how it completely fails to account for other observations. How do people in São Paulo see the Sun directly overhead during the winter solstice? Let’s just drag that Sun back into the dome and ignore Antarctica for a moment…
Also, what even IS the dome? Why can't we interact with it and study/measure it? What's outside of it? Is the dome..... our atmosphere? If so, is he implying that the pizza disk flat earth's atmosphere interacts EXACTLY the same way as a hunk of glass with a flashlight shining through it? If there is no real gravity, what keeps this dome of air in place? HUH??????
When the mod asked him to explain the coffee-cup caustic, he tried hard to deflect and then claimed that the light "will wrap around the entire rim" (24:00), which is not what his citation showed. Then he claims it perfectly replicates day and night but he doesn't show this, he just tells people to "look it up". Of course, if they do look it up, they'll see it doesn't work, but his whole point is to dodge and deflect. And, then, at 25:41, he claims to still be talking about the coffee-cup caustic but he's dropped a solid glass hemisphere (not a "dome" as he calls it) over his flat earth. So, now we're embedded in solid glass?
FE are endless cherry picking nit pickers. They'll zero in on a single thing, find some ridiculous explanation for it. And move on to the next isolated point, and silly explanation. They have no cohesive model because none of their explanations work with one another.. But then again the whole point is to shill their BS on YT and make some money.
"Of course I can explain that, you're stupid." Okay explain it. "I literally can explain it, you can't, Dave." Okay explain it. "Stop interrupting me with your fallacies" This was a wonderful waste of time, thank you both!

He did ok, but obviously the flat earther can't really respond in good faith to anything Dave says, because as soon as he does, it's game over. He'll have to give up the game he's been committed to for however long he's been into it. It's clear he has a kind of religious conviction to flat earth. I would love to see him in Antarctica, or on a plane trip from Argentina to Johannesburg. But even if confronted with reality, flat earthers stick to their convictions in spite of the obvious.
@@AWildBard How did he do ok? He interrupting without saying anything. Basically just saying, ""sorry for interrupting". Like dude, just let them speak
The photographer who got a shot from so far away is called Mark Bret, and he himself said that what enabled him to photograph from so far away was atmospheric refraction (basically, layers of air at different temperatures distort the path of light, which helps to "push the horizon away"). He added that very specific weather conditions were required and that this kind of shot is only possible about twice a year if the sky is not obstructed.
So basically if it was a flat earth then that shot would be possible at every point in time right? Even the photographer debunks this assholes talking points
Pic de Finestrelles (where the photographer was): 2826 meters altitude Pic Gaspard (target): 3883 meters altitude Distance between both peaks: 443km When calculating the earths curvature taking those two altitudes into account, the max line of sight distance would be 476km. In other words, the photographer still had another 33km extra before it would have disappeared over the horizon. It would have taken pizza earth bro just a couple minutes to confirm his own argument was false.
@EanTec Gravity depends on the masses of attracted objects. This is the reason why you can throw a ball up the sky but not a car. Objects with larger/denser masses will attract each other more. Resulting in more weight. The ocean by itself is a huge body of water that is being pulled towards the earth by Gravity. That's why the seas follow the curvature of the Earth. Smaller waves can go up and down on sea level because the Sea is not still. It's dynamic and other forces like Earthquakes, Tectonic plate shifts are also affecting the oceans. Your statement about ships "sliding" off make no sense whatsoever. The mantle and the Earth's crust act as a platform for the oceans. They are also shaped spherical because theyre also affected by Gravity.

As somebody who is surrounded with a heck of a lot of military and aeronautics engineers, has flown a plane, who runs an ADS-B collector out of their attic, and works in government infrastructure, I can absolutely subjectively and objectively confirm that the earth is a sphere, and any claims of conspiracy are so obliviously stupid I cannot even wrap my head around it.
@bhante1345 they treat it as just another religion. Just with a different sort of priests... learning bullshit by heart despite no evidence for it existing or the evidence pointing to the opposite is the basic description of religion.
You just admitted to being part of the conspiracy dude!! Sorry, I am kidding of course. The thing is that almost all flerf claims can be tested and shown to be wrong rather easily. The concept of pressure coming from the overlying mass of air can be tested by getting any can of compressed gas and weighing it on an accurate scale, allowing it to all escape and then weighing it again. There will be a difference in reading if one has an accurate scale. There of course will still be some gas in it, but at only one atmosphere of pressure vs . eighty atmospheres or more. For example a scuba tank that is empty will tend to weigh two kilograms, call it four and a half pounds, less than a full one. A simple test that even a flerf could do.
“We use military equipment based on a flat earth.” This couldn’t be more wrong. I’m an aviator in the Air Force, most types of radar and all types of UHF radios are limited by line of sight. Know where line of sight drops off when you’re over the ocean?? At the curvature of the earth. And we have several different tools we use to find out who/what we will be able to see/talk to in different places based on the altitudes/elevations of both objects. What an absolute bafoon to open his mouth.
There is an international organization that monitors Earth rotation, and the Navy has an office that participates in the program. Never mind that there is a frickin' Naval Observatory that certainly doesn't think Earth is flat and space is fake. I'm not in the navy, btw.
These flerfs really need to stop using the military argument. The flat, level plane assumption is only used in ballistic data to simplify the math, and really doesn't make much of a difference at ranges less than 18 kms. Once you push out past 18 kms, the effect of curvature on precision starts to become more apparent, and additional math must be done to compensate. This is also only done when doing manual calculations; ballistic computers account for curvature at all ranges. Oh, and many artillery systems use gyroscopes for orientation, which doesn't work on a flat earth. Source: I've been producing ballistic data for artillery pieces for the better part of 30 years.
All they would have to do is _read_ an artillery firing chart. But reading isn't one of their strong suits. And I suspect most of them feel secure in their "knowledge" and don't actually want to discover they're wrong.
Looks like X-Scorpio-33 deleted his comment. He must have realized he couldn't support it. He said "Cruise control and guided missiles and torpedoes all prove flat earth." I'm afraid he has no idea what he's talking about. Guided missiles in particular definitely use DTED and other data which is all based on a spherical Earth. If you see this X-Scorpio-33, know this: when you talk shit, expect to be called out.
I wanted to say the very same, I was working in the early 2000s in a project for artillery system computers and the curvature of the earth is VERY important part of the calculations to be accurate. This alone blows flerfs dellusion out of the water that you NEED that to be accurate.
I had an argument with a flat-earther. He was so mad, he said he would sail to the end of the earth to prove me wrong. But, I'm sure he'll come around eventually
Austin lost in the 1st 5 minutes when he couldn't explain why a clock on the ceiling would appear to rotate in 2 different directions depending on your location in the room. Edit- for spell check error
Yeah Dave entertains way too many derails. It's hard to ask the same question over and over and they say "corpuscular and anticorpuscular rays" and the illuminati and the pyramids and how the aliens got through the dome and ... and.. and you have to exercise supreme self-restraint to just ignore everything they just said because they'll dangle objectionable claims in front of you and try to get you to bite so you can be led down a path elsewhere. Ignore it all and ask the same question 20 times in a row like a total psychopath and force them to give a specific, refined, non-vague handwave answer. Dave unfortunately doesn't really have the sociopathic bones in his body to ask the same question over and over and over again like a lunatic. And when Andrew says ask him to draw a very specific and accurate picture. And if he can't call him an absolute liar and moron to his face unless he concedes he can't explain the spinning of the stars. Andrew needs to explain not just that the stars spin but they have a constant angular velocity consistent with the sidereal latitude position. When you're at the poles, the stars spin overhead, at the equator, you see both poles spinning in opposite direction, and at the south pole, stars spinning the other way, all with a constant 24h per 2 pi rotation. Literally anything other than that specific explanation you need to be ready to twist the knife and never ever change topic.
And then also tried to gaslight Dave claiming he doesn't understand perspective, all while claiming that simply looking in a different direction will change the way the sky rotates. Dave also brilliantly used the model globe to literally demonstrate it in a non-verbal fashion, and he still failed to grasp the concept. This level of willful ignorance is bizarre.
He made such a self-satisfied performance over his own decisions on moderation which didn't effect anything. It's very cringe and I wish this was the most stupid thing I've seen the Quartering do.
Hi Witsit. I'm a radio operator. Radio waves bend and reflect. You can bounce them off of the atmosphere, and off of the earth. Because they are waves, like light, they can bend. Stop lying about straight line propagation, it's not the only way the radio waves can travel.
He's one to show how he doesn't understand radio by not understanding radio. Of course he's only going to mention the behavior of short wave radio implying it applies to all. All he ever does is cherry pick, every single time.
And, if I recall my E&M class correctly, propagation by ionosphere bouncing isn’t always possible, which makes zero sense if all transmissions are actually line of sight. Which is why the US got in huge international hot water for putting metal needles into orbit to improve the reliability, which is a scandal that makes no sense if the earth is actually flat
As someone fairly familiar with (American military) RF propagation, this was painful to hear. He has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about and trying to add perceived legitimacy by attaching “military” to the terms he’s using.

Him: Because he claims an object can be moving really fast from my point of view but slow from yours. Me: Well we are flying through space at roughly 30k MPH but because we do not speed up or slow down we don't notice it. Him: We aren't flying we are sitting on a couch. Me: You serious? Him: Yes Me: Okay so since the earth is moving through space at 30K MPH and we are sitting on a couch that happens to be sitting on the earth we are moving incredibly fast. How ever there is no increase in Gs nor decrease in Gs because it is at a constant speed. Him: We would be killed moving at speeds like that. Me: Come with me. Him: 'follows' Me: Okay let's run to the store and grab a 12 pack. On the way there the highway speed limit is 55 so we are cruising along at 60mph. Me: Okay so do you think you can catch a phone traveling at 65mph bare handed and it not hurt? Him: I dunno maybe. I do concrete work so my hands are pretty tough. Me: Toss my phone in his direction. Him: 'Catches phone' Me: That wasn't nearly as bad as you thought it was going to be was it? Him: Dude that toss wasn't even 5mph. Me: True but we are already going down the road at 60mph. Him: Yeah but the phone wasn't going 60mph. Me: You serious? Him: If you had a radar gun and clocked that toss the gun would show you that was not 60mph. Me: Not if the gun as going 60mph when you clock the phone. However take the same radar gun and stand on the sidewalk then when the phone comes by you it will be doing 60mph. So from my perspective the phone is moving fairly slow. From your perspective it is traveling at about 1 mile per minute, if you are not in the car that is. That somehow convinced him the earth was a sphere after all. Me: 'Shrugs' I learned something from that experience though.

I don't particularly like Quartering, but to be honest, this "I don't like this guy's opinion on one topic, therefore I disregard his opinion on different topics." is really detrimental to having good conversations. You don't have to love or hate a guy, you can also just agree with some arguments or opinions and not with others. This bipartisan bullshit that EVERYBODY seems to be doing nowadays is very very dishonest. So I can confidently say, that some opinions of Quartering are idiotic, while others are spot on. You could argue and I wouldn't blame or contradict you, that his method of providing content is lazy and maybe he doesn't do enough research before publishing his videos, but we really need to be able to adhere to while simultaneously detach from different opinions from the same source. If its harder for things to fall up because physics scales, and thus you would need more magnetism to lift the thing up, that would also mean you would need more magnetism to pull it down. So the Earth would have to magically know to apply more magnetic force to the more massive object to keep it down.
37:00 - This is a real photo taken on 16 July 2016 and verified by the Guinness World Records. It was possible because of the globe and what dipshit left out was the quote from their website: "The picture was taken from Pic de Finestrelles, in the Pyrenees mountains. Pic Gaspard, of the Alps, can be seen in the centre of the photo, 443 km away. There are very few places on earth where it is possible to extend the line of sight so far. Due to the curvature of earth, both the observer and object must be at sufficiently high altitudes for the object to be visible at long range. The higher an observer is, the further they may see before the point where the earth curves out of sight, otherwise known as the horizon. If the earth had a uniform radius with no mountains and valleys, an individual six feet in height would view the horizon to be 5 km away from them." So his own "proof" debunks his belief. What is it MCToon says about a flerfs citations again 🤔🤔🤔
I was wondering if that was another condition of that location. obviously the earth isn't perfectly smooth in it's spherical shape. there will be areas that are more flat than others. anyways you still can't see the entire mountain in those pictures even though the elevation is so high so it disproves itself just by appearance and simple logic alone.

@@PhoenixAurelius-138Serious question, how far do you think the stars are? Just from your daily life, when you move perpendicular to two objects at different distances, the one further moves much less than the closer one. I live near some mountains, so I can see them while in the car, they appear to move very little. Now, those mountains were 50 km away. Stars, even the closest one, are so far away that their perpendicular motion is negligible. This has been explained for a while now.

A brief debunk of Austin’s coffee cup caustic nonsense:
In his model the Sun is low and to the edge of the dome in order for the light to bend around the entire flat Earth Antarctic ring.

He added that very specific weather conditions were required and that this kind of shot is only possible about twice a year if the sky is not obstructed.

@EanTec gravity makes the sea rise. It's called low tide.
No it's like watching him fight an invincible worm

Nah, sorry bro, witsit already knows an expert aerospace engineer who told him NASA, space and globe is fake!!

B...b...b..but he knows pilots, man! He really does!

Him: Yes
Me: Okay so since the earth is moving through space at 30K MPH and we are sitting on a couch that happens to be sitting on the earth we are moving incredibly fast. How ever there is no increase in Gs nor decrease in Gs because it is at a constant speed.
Him: We would be killed moving at speeds like that.
Me: Come with me.
Him: 'follows'
Me: Okay let's run to the store and grab a 12 pack.
Him: 'Catches phone'
Me: That wasn't nearly as bad as you thought it was going to be was it?

Wait a minute, just so I understand correctly. So Austin really believes, that an object that is rotating clockwise around him, will suddenly rotate counterclockwise around him, if he looks in a different direction? I must have misunderstood that, right?
You didn't, they can't handle 3D space.
I thought the clock on the ceiling analogy by Dave was hilariously simple in it’s complete dismantling of his argument.
"an object that is rotating clockwise around him, will suddenly rotate counterclockwise around him, if he looks in a different direction?"
I hadn't watched the video up to that point, so I don't know what the witless guy actually said, but that's absolutely right. It happens all the time when I look at the stars. When I look north they rotate counterclockwise and when I look south they rotate clockwise, but always from east to west. That's precisely why we see the stars rotating in different directions when we change hemispheres, and people on the equator even get both views.
How this would be even remotely possible if the Earth was flat is beyond me.
he's definitely going back to the grifting board to assemble some kind of word salad to describe that one. seems like he already tried (he obviously knows almost all of the main undeniable facts) but this one just didn't work that well. what's telling is that people can keep on coming up with so many NEW examples that prove the earth is round lol. what do they have? a picture of a mountain...
His brain is not developped enough to understand this. He probably got dropped as a baby. There's something not working properly in there.
Witsit's "physics scales" argument doesnt make sense. If its harder for things to fall up because physics scales, and thus you would need more magnetism to lift the thing up, that would also mean you would need more magnetism to pull it down. So the Earth would have to magically know to apply more magnetic force to the more massive object to keep it down.
For his not so smart audience it’s enough to fool them.
37:00 - This is a real photo taken on 16 July 2016 and verified by the Guinness World Records. It was possible because of the globe and what dipshit left out was the quote from their website:
"The picture was taken from Pic de Finestrelles, in the Pyrenees mountains.
If the earth had a uniform radius with no mountains and valleys, an individual six feet in height would view the horizon to be 5 km away from them."
So his own "proof" debunks his belief.
So if they just plugged those numbers into a curve calculator then Austin would have been proven wrong?

Unfortunately, no globers can either. This is a big question no one on either side can answer.... And before someone throws a pejorative at me, I'm not a flat earther.
