Professor Dave Ruins Flat Earther Austin Witsit

- Remember when idiot flat earthers harassed me incessantly about debating David Weiss? And then I agreed to debate him, and completely humiliated him to the point where flat earthers started calling him controlled opposition? Well they passed the torch to Austin Witsit and began pretending that I was too afraid to debate him too. So I agreed to do it, and that's this. As expected, it's nothing but word salads and pseudoscience from another flat earth grifter who is completely incapable of answering the same questions I ask of all flat earthers. Enjoy!

Hey all, quick FYI, I had nothing to do with choosing The Quartering to host. Austin was whining that I was too afraid to do it simply because I turned down one other channel (MDD), so when he picked this one I agreed so that I could shut him up. I did not look into who he is at all, and perhaps that was lazy/irresponsible on my part. Watching this video on my channel will not support him one bit, and I will try to exercise better judgement in the future. Thanks for your support!
The quartering is rather milquetoast why would it matter?
Regardless, thank you for not using Modern Day Debates. That is such a trash channel and "moderator" I stopped watching anything on there ages ago.
Happy to see that you're not using their platform. I have zero respect for that channel or James.
Thanks for pointing that out! Was going WTF internally when I saw that name pop up :/

Bro I'm not a flat earther but I might pretend to be if it means a free trip to Antarctica to see a midnight sun

Right? Instead of funding idiots the rich dude should donate money to scientists.
There must be some of them who think like that... like they might get a free ride to space. Let's face it, it's basically impossible unless you're a trained astronaut or incredibly rich
Stand in line bro, I'm first!
That was my thought as well lol “How many flat earth videos will get me a free ticket to Antarctica?” But they are not dumb lol I bet it has to be an old channel and a decent audience, I’m not that committed to the grift 😂
Dave's opening "Austin will try to shift the burden of proof"
Austin immediately: *shifts burden of proof*
Lol yup
😂😂😂😂
Dave also said he'd bring in the whole geocentric vs heliocentric debate into play which has NOTHING to do with the argument over the shape of the earth. Even if we grant him the geocentric model, it STILL won't make the flat earth model work. You can't make a 2D object work in a 3D world. I'll never forget when I learned in like 4th grade that a map will NEVER be 100% accurate as it's IMPOSSIBLE to put a spherical surface on a 2D plane surface, like a page. There will always be some distortion, and all they can do is mitigate it.

Here’s a TL;DR for this video:
In the first 2 minutes, Dave outlines everything Austin plans on using as an argument in this debate and explains why all of it is wrong.
For the rest of the debate, Austin proceeds to do everything Dave said he would do.
In the meantime, the moderator apologizes for taking up too much of their time while actively taking up too much of their time.

You forgot that Austin also debunks his own supposed model every now and then.

Spot on. This "debate" was laughably bad thanks to the moderator who talked more than the 2 guest.

@EanTec gravity makes the sea rise. It's called low tide.
No it's like watching him fight an invincible worm
@EanTec Gravity depends on the masses of attracted objects. This is the reason why you can throw a ball up the sky but not a car. Objects with larger/denser masses will attract each other more. Resulting in more weight. The ocean by itself is a huge body of water that is being pulled towards the earth by Gravity. That's why the seas follow the curvature of the Earth. Smaller waves can go up and down on sea level because the Sea is not still. It's dynamic and other forces like Earthquakes, Tectonic plate shifts are also affecting the oceans. Your statement about ships "sliding" off make no sense whatsoever. The mantle and the Earth's crust act as a platform for the oceans. They are also shaped spherical because theyre also affected by Gravity.

A brief debunk of Austin’s coffee cup caustic nonsense:
In his model the Sun is low and to the edge of the dome in order for the light to bend around the entire flat Earth Antarctic ring. But let’s remember that this is supposedly simulating the winter solstice… when the Sun is directly over the Tropic of Capricorn. People in São Paulo Brazil will see the Sun directly overhead at noon on the solstice. Austin’s ‘model’ places the sun just above the horizon from this vantage point.
So yeah, in typical flerf style, Austin pulls a ‘model’ out of his butt to try and explain ONE observation, but then ignores how it completely fails to account for other observations. Ignore it all and ask the same question 20 times in a row like a total psychopath and force them to give a specific, refined, non-vague handwave answer.
Dave unfortunately doesn't really have the sociopathic bones in his body to ask the same question over and over and over again like a lunatic. And when Andrew says ask him to draw a very specific and accurate picture. And if he can't call him an absolute liar and moron to his face unless he concedes he can't explain the spinning of the stars.
Andrew needs to explain not just that the stars spin but they have a constant angular velocity consistent with the sidereal latitude position. When you're at the poles, the stars spin overhead, at the equator, you see both poles spinning in opposite direction, and at the south pole, stars spinning the other way, all with a constant 24h per 2 pi rotation. Literally anything other than that specific explanation you need to be ready to twist the knife and never ever change topic.
And then also tried to gaslight Dave claiming he doesn't understand perspective, all while claiming that simply looking in a different direction will change the way the sky rotates.
Dave also brilliantly used the model globe to literally demonstrate it in a non-verbal fashion, and he still failed to grasp the concept.
This level of willful ignorance is bizarre.
Imagine having your whole argument debunked before you even open your mouth. Cringe.
Yes, those 8 minutes were glorious in their concise and thorough dismemberment of any counter argument. These flerfs really need to stop using the military argument. The flat, level plane assumption is only used in ballistic data to simplify the math, and really doesn't make much of a difference at ranges less than 18 kms. Once you push out past 18 kms, the effect of curvature on precision starts to become more apparent, and additional math must be done to compensate. This is also only done when doing manual calculations; ballistic computers account for curvature at all ranges. Oh, and many artillery systems use gyroscopes for orientation, which doesn't work on a flat earth. Source: I've been producing ballistic data for artillery pieces for the better part of 30 years.
All they would have to do is _read_ an artillery firing chart. But reading isn't one of their strong suits. And I suspect most of them feel secure in their "knowledge" and don't actually want to discover they're wrong.

Because weird anti-education sentiment, especially in America, grows by the day. As a teacher who uses Professor Dave's videos in class, you wouldn't believe some of the stuff that I've been told.
It’s fun
FAKE Professor Dave Clearly LOST. pretty hilarious...
Most people aren't very analytical or rational. Some people hear an idea that makes them feel smarter than almost everyone else, and emotionally latch on to that. It helps them not feel inadequate.
If you google "Austin Whitsitt" you get his criminal record and his high school football stats. This explains his brain damage and general demeanor.
"Flat Earth doesn't make you money" he said in his studio living room with his logo in a custom graphic in the background
Podcasters and youtubers can make money. There is no direct financial gain from just believing in a flar earth.
@@einhalbesbrot when he talks about flat earth on TH-cam or podcasts and makes money from it that is directly making money from his belief in flat earth. Enough money to make a brand out of it when.
@@jamesf3881 yeah sure. I didn't have the context you just provided, your comment alone seemed wrong.
DIRTH has made quite a bit of money off Flat Earth.
@@einhalbesbrotyou had the context, you just don't know how to use it. It was pretty fucking obvious what they were saying.
New flat Earth just dropped. The Earth is inside a coffee cup!
Only a imbecile would believe that 😅😅😅 He showed the light source would need to be on the other side of his ice wall
The only forgot to fill it with coffee :(
@@tabularasa0606no, god filled the coffee cup during Noah‘s flood, then he promised never to do that again, gave us the rainbow, which the gays stole with the help of Prometheus
@@pufffincrazy5275please tell me this is satire
@@BossAwesomeSauceWhy would it be serious lmao
My response to Flat Earther's is 'yup, you convinced me', then I walk away. They can't stand that.
Yup, I had an anti vax lady tell me I shouldn't do exercise because I'd had my jab. She told me I'd have a heart attack or stroke or something. I said I was awaiting my fate, and spite gave me the energy to run up the hill I was on despite the fact that I'd been surfing for 4 hours prior 😂 She was rattled and sounded genuinely worried!
@@markhellman-pn3hn Nope. never engage. That is all they want. Attention. They do not exist. They are things, not people. To validate them with an argument means you already lost.
I like to point out they are either being intentionally $thpid and lying, or they lack the capacity to have the conversation.
@@kingflynxi9420I'm not an anti-vax person but you still likely shouldn't exercise for a week after a jab. It's my doctor and medical professional's suggestion to me after my vaccine boosters.
