Except that Pearl literally admitted that her intention was to get close to the judges so she could have an advantage in the competition. Pearl gets away with a lot because she's hot. That's the truth. And she thought she could easily charm Ru. But she didn't. Ru saw right through her act and appropriately called her out on it. Look, we don't know how things exactly happened. We don't know Ru's side and its unfair to judge her when we've only heard one side.

When you see RuPaul on Drag Race promoting the idea that all the queens are family and they call her “Mother”, it makes incidents like the one between Pearl and Ru so shocking. But like Pearl said, it “wakes you up” and you come to realize that RuPaul is simply doing his job and it’s nothing personal. Heart-warming moments between Ru and the queens mean more in front of the camera because they publicly promote the philosophy that they are all family. In an interview years ago, someone asked why RuPaul doesn’t dress in full drag all the time to which Ru replied that he only dresses in full drag “when he’s being paid to do so”. That says it all.
Ok Ru is considered mother. When you disrespect your mother what do you get in return. You would get checked. Now let's be honest Ru didn't say anything hurtful to Pearl, he said he wanted to for Pearl coming off as disrespectful. And as a human we all have days or moments where we could destroy someone verbally if they pushed us so dont act like Ru is the first person. And again "we the people" are mad because he wanted to say something mean and nasty but chose not to???? Make it make sense

If someone on a show saying something to you is emotionally damaging then that's not the place for you. In real life we don't put our selves out to be judged or scrutinized like they are on Drag Race. Drag Race is not real everyday life
@@zleo7054 hey I know they're very convincing but please don't let anyone make you believe you deserve to be treated that way just because they have a higher position whether it's at work or school or a competition you participate in. I'm in a field where I'm constantly critiqued not only my work but me personally. And it's never done in such a way to hurt my confidence make me hate the mentors or make me demoralized. People who do that are on a power trip and should be called out. And i really don't want you to be in a situation where you think it's okay and you're the weak one for breaking down.
I’m currently watching season 7 for the first time and I am so confused at why the judges seem to hate on Pearl for no good reason. When Ru said she didn’t have personality, it really rubbed me the wrong way as well haha. I totally got where Pearl was coming from.
It pisses me off when they say a contestant doesn't have personality like they judge them based off a runway look and a cheesy skit and you don't know someone's personality unless you spend actual time with them not just an on camera scene I don't think they genuinely get to know the contestant so the personality thing is irrelevant. They should use the word "persona" in that case cuz the show is for entertainment purpose.

RDR is entertaining and all but the judging is just way off. Especially so in season 1. I get that its still a tv show but the judges always put down one contestant in a season. Example is Shannel from season 1.
Ru didn’t say she didn’t have a personality, she said she didn’t have a BIG personality. There’s a difference. Pearl took it the wrong way. Having a good personality and a big personality have nothing to do with each other.
Ru basically wants every single participant to be pretty much like Silky or Vanjie, they catch your attention, in a good or a bad way. And that’s incredibly annoying, just because Pearl doesn’t go around screaming or making a scene that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have personality, it’s just not as obnoxious and annoying as others’. I would be twice as pissed if someone told me that I don’t have personality, do you know me? i’ve been here a few weeks, you have no idea of who I am so no, I’m not gonna let it pass because you’re RuPaul, you can be the fucking president of America and I still wouldn’t care.
When I heard Pearl's story, it opened my eyes when I watch the show how fake Rupaul is.
Rupaul has also invested heavily in fracking. She's not a good person even though she has done good in her life.

@@01spiderman01 That's fine, but also how many season's has she done...you'd think Ru would have a little more awareness given the show pretty much literally brings him new fans every season as part of the cast. Cutting someone down bluntly when there's obvious alternatives isn't a could sign about that person.
I wonder if Ru's coldness comes from the fact that once girls get on Drag Race they stop being just fans and are really in the process of becoming his competition.
He's a producer and a host, he's hardly a drag queen anymore and definatly not in the same competition as the drag race girls.

I think part of the reason that Ru became a phenomenon and achieved his current level of stardom is because of "Drag Race". I do believe he wants to promote the Drag community and the show definitely shines a light on the potential of current queens (even the ones that don't win). I think it's what those queens do with their newfound fame after the show that determines whether they can become competition for Ru and match the fame and longevity of stardom that Ru has achieved.
In hindsight, Pearls ‘is there something on my face?’ moment was so smart. She learnt quick that nothing she says matters unless the camera is rolling, so she gave ru the 🖕🏻 when the cameras were rolling 🤌🏼 we love a mega-aware queen 🧘♂️

Pearl has all the respect from me. Just came from her video on RuPaul and Michelle’s podcast where they talked about her, and can I say I’m surprised? Not really.... It’s clear from many of the discussions on the judges’ panels in the show (especially in s12 imo) that they have a really shallow and strangely stereotypical view of most of the contestants (ex: seeing things in Aiden that nobody else saw -coughs-) and a lot of the compliments and even critizisms seem really forced and fake because of it :/

I see some people trying to make excuses for RuPaul saying he's doing his job, but assuming this story is true, there's no reason to respond like that. Yes, we shouldn't meet our idols, period. But how hard a "thanks honey, that's sweet, now excuse me, gotta be somewhere" could be? It's not like she was eating at a restaurant and somebody asked for a selfie. These girls makes your fckng show!
Could be why Santino Rice left, he was always nicer that Visage anyways. Ru changed from season to season whereas Santino was consistently kind-hearted.
Santino was a dud though. Ross and Carson bring way better energy/sassier and coherent critiques

I always thought the show was meant for creativity, which means bringing on queens to show who they really are- but only to Ru’s liking- like no one can outshine him on his own show and I think that tells a lot about her Why make a show to support the drag community if she’s going to dictate it so much.

Anyways my friend said this is such a honour to meet you thank you for bringing me up when I was down and ru basically looked at him like he was a utter shit to him and continued signing his book and said there next not a thank you and glad I have helped you nothing like that so I guess then say never meet your idols
depends on who your idol's are really. I remember back in my younger years (early 2000's) meeting various music folk at signings, being shy I never really said much just handed whatever was being signed but so often they'd engage with me like Brian Molko looked up at me and his eyes read over my shirt which had "I FUCK ON THE FIRST DATE" printed on it he laughed and said "So do I". Jake Shears complimented my style, it was on the gay strip so everyone was fake tanned and puka shell necklaces...I turned up in new rocks, tartan bondage pants, fish net shirt with faux fur wrap, he signed my shit with hearts which he didn't to my friends. He also remembered me a year or so later when I was involved in setting up the stage for a gig.
Some other people though, giant let downs.

Jonny & Teddy talked about this in a podcast that Jonny used to do as a bonus for the HeyQween Patreon patrons. At the start of 2020, he ended that podcast and went back to doing "Gayest of All Time" on iTunes for all to listen to.
I can't even imagine how hurt was Pearl was to somebody day you were sure for so long and you think that they was kind even though they don't care on camera but off cameras so I can just imagine how hurt she was but you know what though I know it's me and my sister as we watching the scenes on Instagram when that part when she told Pearl you do not have a personality me and my sister knew what's up it's like something behind that because the way how Pearl was coming at RuPaul me and my sister was like what the f*** is wrong with her but as the more we watching it the more we was like that's something more as soon as she said that it was like boom we knew it it's just really f***** up how people act on camera and pretend who they really are I don't like that s*** at all 😠

A lot of people are shocked but people have been saying for yeats they didn't like Ru because he only cast black Queens if they are portraying stereotypes.
I've seen tons of statements from Queens aside from pearl also having what I can only imagine to be completely devastating interactions with Ru. The response from many of those girls was terrible disappointment and feeling very Jaded towards the whole fakeness of the reality TV machine, with the amount of Queens that have come forward talking about their own interactions with Ru that we're in a similar vein, I think it's pretty hard to refute what all these Queens have come out and said. I think what makes those interactions so sad and upsetting is that on camera Ru professes to be a mother figure and teacher who supposedly care very deeply for the contestants, when in reality it's a completely different story when the cameras are rolling. I've heard Queens say that when the camera isn't rolling they aren't even allowed to look at him, just some weird stuff

It’s not that I lack empathy for Pearl, but a big part of me is like hello… What did you expect LOL this it show business and he has a job to do. I would never speak to someone like that who idolizes me but I also wouldn’t expect my idol to treat me the way I dreamed of, it’s just unrealistic. I would’ve just moved on and thought about my career and not take anything personal. But I know it’s an unpopular opinion.

You know something ladies and girls. It doesn't surprise me ONE BIT of Pearl's "negative experience" with mamma Ru. I mean sure Ru paved the way for the queens of today. However, to deliberately break someone's heart. Especially, if that someone has looked up to and revered you is just flat out wrong on SO MANY levels. One could even say when some of these queens from different seasons past or present. Start getting emotional during or after their performances. And Ru is sitting their giving them "positive words of encouragement" is she REALLY being sincere with them...? Honestly i'd like to believe she is and does genuinely care. But unfortunately Pearl's "negative experience" with Ru. Is certainly NOT a first time thing. As MANY other queens have had VERY similar encounters with her. So that all said, if these "allegations" are true then Ru needs to take a step back. And reflect on why she has this need to put these other queens down like that. Much less embarrass them in front of everyone else....... (g)
