I gained so much respect and affection for Milk after this interview. The past few seasons of Drag Race I've been trying to be careful about making snap judgements about the queens because it's becoming more apparent how production manipulates the footage and editing. I wish Milk continued success and happiness.

I’m really glad you feel this way now! A lot of queens are very different off of the show because drag race is such a stressful time for them, it’s great seeing the other things they can do! especially with milk, a lot of her personality/talent didn’t get shown on drag race. She’s a very talented skater, a huge political activist and also can be very funny :)

I still love and appreciate her regardless. Filming drag race puts the girls in a delicate situation and I’m not mad at her for cracking under pressure. The fans take things way too far. I don’t hate any of the girls on the show. Just enjoy the content and stop ruining it for the rest of us sane fans. I know people who stopped watching the show because the fans get too intense.

Also, I don't see how this is her being honest. Yes, there were moments where she was being sarcastic and it got missunderstood. But there were plenty of other moments where sarcasm clearly had nothing to do with it, and I don't see her aknowledging those. That being said, she didn't deserve any of the hate she got, and I totally empathize with her and feel bad that she had to go through it.
Yes the editors are Shady but the shade thrown towards shangela was very real, that meltdown she had about being safe(when she slick shouldve been in the bottom) was very real, The way the queens were reacting to her was very real, when they told her about herself in the work room that too was very real...lets keep it a buck sis got the big head coming into All Stars because of her success after her season and understandably so, and we saw it play out...

I've always LOVED Milk and I love her even more now! I haven't seen this interview at the time, but I definitely knew this would be her view on that and it makes so proud to see how she's been dealing with all of this and grew even stronger from that!

Wow...Milk looks BOMB!!! I watched Milk on her All-Stars season and the introspective way that Milk dealt with her exchange with Kennedy and the other queens (showing a vulnerable side) made me like her even more.
I love you MILK. Haters gonna hate. Honestly I agree, the hatred and negative comments need to be shut down. The forums need to have better moderators. Let that be a paid position from Drag Race. Protect your queens!
This is one of the reasons why I don't enjoy watching Drag Race in general as I used to. Plus, I didn't like the elimination system in All Stars because it played a big role in creating a lot of unnecessary drama just to feed the audience. I get that producers need to keep discussion alive to get money and renew the show another season, but I feel that queens paid the most expensive price here. To hear that many of them got backlash and harsh criticism really saddens me and of course I've got my favourite ones but I like each of them in their own way.
If only I could be a fly on the wall in those confessionals, I've heard queens before say the producers can get very rude and VERY aggressive if they want you to do or say something and you don't. I understand they are there to make a show, but I've certainly heard rumors that some producers are a lot worse than others (from what understand every few queens get put under a producer, and eventually as the numbers dwindle each queens get almost a dedicated producer for their confessionals and such).
Milk looks GORGE right here. Also, Milk was hilarious on her All Stars run. Like very clearly she was joking or just being extra at times.

Tbh if you dislike one of the drag queens because you didn't like them on the show, then you're clearly not very bright, because we don't see everything, we've been proven time and time again that some of the "mean queens" on the show are completely different outside of the show.
And that’s the only tea we should, as just drag race “fans” care about. It’s been this way in the Tv industry for DECADES yet we usually act like we know each of these people personally but PLOT TWIST: we don’t. If those people are on Tv, watched by millions of people every single day, it’s most of the time for a reason meaning they obviously went through a lot of work and put an enormous amount of effort just to get onto these shows and that alone should be a good enough reason for us to at least appreciate their work.
Notthefather Well, you definitely have a point here I can’t deny it but sadly, a lot of people like Milk mentioned in the video really come for some of the queens and while you’re (as well as a lot of other people which is comforting) not sending directly any hate towards them we all know a lot of angry people went ham on (for example) Kennedy Danvenport or Jasmine Masters and Monique Heart straight up being racist and even sending death threats. As much as I think we can make our own opinions on people, it will never excuse this amount of hate and disrespect.

I think people have to learn to appreciate drag race as a TV show, and appreciate Drag Queens as first people, second as artists, and third as people who portrayed characters on a TV show. Sure it's them, but they don't have full control over what's shown.
One of my favorite seasons of regular drag race is Season 4. And it's for a bunch of reasons, but one of the big ones is because Phi Phi Ohara makes such a good villain. Think about a normal fictional drama TV show that runs for several season. A good villain makes for better TV. You can't love how much someone gets you invested or how strongly you feel about someone for good TV, and then turn around and send them hate. Appreciate the entertainment they give you. Just like you don't hate on actors for playing bad guys in movies.
I truly think there's a huge portion of RPDR who don't understand that this is a tv show and that there's a big portion of filming that's "edited". Most of these queens, and I say most because I have met some of them in real life and they were exactly how they were portrayed on the show, are SUPER nice and wonderful people. The RPDR fans who take this show at face value need a serious reality check.

The problem isn't fans seeing queens being problematic and holding them accountable for it, the PROBLEM is that fans will see a queen be problematic, drag them through it, send hate, send death threats, and try to bring down their career over one incident. This is a problem I've noticed with Gen Z as well. I believe the millennial group was more about calling people out and forgiving, but I'm seeing younger generations do that without the forgiveness. Of course hate has lasted through all generations, so it's not a generational thing, but it is interesting to see Milk address that as well.
I believe fans (of any demographic) that drag situations out for so long and are more about cancel culture than improvement do that to get the feeling of doing something right with the adrenaline of doing something bad. Sending hate/being negative is very rarely going to get you the response that you want, which in most times is change. Because even when celebrities do change and apologize the haters are still not satisfied. It seems like more of a projection issue to me. The best way to change a celebrities view on something is to educate from a place of love because the second you do it from a place of hate it's not valid anymore. From them or from you.

I think weather it was the editing or not. People grow and your forced to face your faults more than ever when your a public figure.
