I just got fired yesterday while I'm on Probation. I had a hard time adjusting to the work culture at the company I work for, it's pretty intense and I don't mind this outcome because I really wasn't happy. So I am okay with moving on.
This is very common in IT companies. They hire people to build web or mobile apps(which can take 3-6 months), and once the project is finished the developers are fired without any excuse. So please be careful. Find out more about the company you are going to sign the contract with. Also, keep the knowledge to yourself. Don't help junior people. Because if you do, the company won't need you any more. Another important factor, is the nationality. If you are a foreinger, then you have more than 95% to fail the probationary period. The last company I was working for was hiring peope from southern European countries, and was firing them after 3-4 months.
I was hired by an IT company in france and fired after 5 months, i don't know what i have done, because of this kinda companies we lost and treat all companies as shit in future.. No,human values anymore
When on probabtion they dont have to give a reason as to why they are letting you go. Although, I think everyone deserves to know why that way everyone could work on whatever it is they need to work on for an upcoming position.

I recommend everyone move to other countries in europe particularly germany, france, spain. From what I am reading here, employment laws in Ireland seem barbaric. To much like the UK and their "zero hour contracts". If you are Irish then you have the right to freedom of movement, if you are qualified in something...why are you still here? Money? That doesn't work out because the difference extra you make working here in Ireland verses spain is swallowed up in rent and generally higher living expenses. So all you are left with is the same money but worse weather.

Hi , I got exited from a company on training period just 3 weeks in it !! The reason they say is my training period assessments/tests until now were not up to the mark !! I am on a contract basis . Is this legal ? As it is not mentioned in my appointment letter regarding laying you off during training period

I disagree with my dismissal, first I have anemia which makes me weak and slow sometimes depending on how I eat and other things. The other thing my boss never introduced him self to me which I think he didn’t like me because of my skin color. I got to know him the day he wanted me to sign the dismissal papers.
Then it may be possible to bring a claim on discrimination grounds-that is, that the dismissal was related to a disability. I would need to know all the facts, though, and the person would need to contact me outside of TH-cam as I do not give legal advice on TH-cam, or anywhere online.

Two weeks later, the employer terminated the contract , asked me to leave the office and refused to pay the notice money. The contract does not contain anything allowing the employer to extend the period. Hong Kong Labour Law does not have any description on probation either. In this case, what should I do? Do you think I may win in the labour tribunal court?
Im not harm to society in my 19 birthday i was heading to my house at 2 am I was really tired and lil drunk I wanted to go to my house so bad I was falling sleep i accidentally crash to someone got down ask person he was good got into my car and just waited till police show up . I got arrested and later the charge where DUI and bruce knuckles I didn't leave the scene and stay there to make sure i was gonna respond for my acts 2 days in jail I paid my bong. got out after 6 months i got probation 2 years and DUI with the chance to clean bruce knuckles from my record , I was already 2 years working at store name heb a month ago i honestly got tired how racist was the environment or just disrespectful with me i should have report it but it was almost half store employee so me against store nvm im just like i didn't kill no one i stay in the scene that happened in 20 October 2018 its 25 January 2020 im still in probation now I own 1,350 of honestly don't know i just need one more hour of community services to complete the 40hrs and Have moved so many times cuz honestly im not establish paying all the gas the money to probation office

Frank, it is a bit unusual and I am not sure that this decision would not be beyond challenge in the future if there was any dispute before the WRC. If I was in the job for over 12 months I would be arguing that the probationary period no longer applied to me, suspension or not. I think a WRC adjudicator might arrive at the same decision-for example if you were in a job for 18 months but the employer claimed the probationary period was suspended for the first 7 months. I do not think this would stand up to scrutiny, to be honest, I could be mistaken, of course.

Not sure what you are asking. But if the employee is on probation and defames a colleague then it is unlikely he will pass the probationary period.
