- It's time for Week 1 of Season 2 2024 on #iracing and we've hopped straight in to the new Super Formula Lights car for my first race of the week. It's a more modern, slightly quicker Formula 3 style car, and it's brilliant to drive! But what are the racing standards like?? Let's find out!

I did two fixed races at Road America - 1) was amazing, clean, while 2) was a disaster where p2 on the grid failed to start, wrecking most of the grid lol. The Super Formula Light is so much fun to drive.
I really agree - very driveable car from the moment you start. I’d expect it to become very popular! Glad you got one great race in out of the two 😂

F4, F3, sf, and sf lites are chaos. I think anyone getting into open wheel should know, it’s chaos hahahaha

Yeah just adds to the realism, its pretty much exactly how its in real life.
That was the reason for me to change from racing in F4 and F3 to switch to the 992 Porsche Cup Car. Its is so frustrating when almost every second race you get taken out in the first lap by some hero and the car is just so fragile thats most likely your race is over after one collision. That really frustrated me. But the Porsche is really a joy to drive and the racing is just cleaner and the whole field is also closer together.
@@Marvin_040 I love the P cup! By far favorite series. If you haven’t tried to sf lite, it is very durable compared to other open wheel. All week 13 I would get a 4x bump and no damage. More than one occasion too

The new SFL is easily my favorite car to drive in sim racing right now, the car is just so compliant, strong front end out the box and great rotation.

What Overlay do you use for your races?
Hey there buddy! Hope you’re having fun on iracing! My overlays are RaceLab Apps. There’s a free version and a paid for version with slightly more options. You could also try iOverlay which is completely free.
I have the SF Light, but not Road America haha! Can't wait for the tracks I own to roll round. Between SFL and F4, this season is looking great for me!

That was not good for my blood pressure, what a rollercoaster! A bit scrappy, as to be expected, but you kept calm and it paid dividends in the end with what indeed seemed at times a highly unlikely finishing position!

Why are iRacing diluting open wheel so much with similar cars? All you need are F1, F2, F3, F4, Skippy, Vee and Indy.
Well the cynical answer is it’s all about the money! But I think there is also a case to be made for continuing to update the cars on offer. I do agree though that there’s too many options on the ranked servers - I expect the old F3 to be retired at some point.

Hi mate - unfortunately not for a long time. It's on the list to explore resuming in 2024, but it's really the challenge of juggling work and family life. Video production gives me a bit more flexibility. Thank you for the support!
