You know I think you are correct. I had to change my script when I read a Reddit post and someone said it was front wheel drive. I thought wtf? Well it kind of explains the handling. But I should have checked better!
I'd definitely suggest leaving open setups ticked when browsing for a series. A lot of them, including the MX-5 and the GR86 that you were looking for, are almost fixed setup series anyway: You can use the setup called "baseline" or "fixed" (if the car also has a fixed series), or even better use an iRacing-provided setup for the specific track (just go to garage > iRacing setups). And these cars only offer a small amount of adjustable components, so if you are using a provided setup, your competitors won't have been able to tinker with too much anyway. It takes most people a long while to be fast enough for these bits of setup to really matter, it's all about the driver at first.
I find that iRacing should change the graphics asap. The graphics don´t fit the physics and the effort put in this simulator. Especially when you see the newer graphics like rain, and compare it to the track when it´s dry. There is a thicc old layer that needs to be replaced. The maps are a real let down. The rest is all great, even the damage models. (and yes I just focus on graphics here, but that doesnt mean its my main focus, I just like to be immersed. I prefer EA WRC over RBR for example. Love the sim, but if it looks like a turd, it works against the experience.)
Agreed, the game STILL looks like an early 2000's racing game. They're spending too much time and money on acquring license on new cars / tracks, because that's what the 🤡's want.
You over steer the car a lot which is where a lot of your spins come from, plus putting the foot down in a RWD when spinning is not the best of ideas, lay off the accelerator and wait for the tyres to gain grip again. Maybe turn the force feedback down. When you approach a corner you don't really turn until the apex and really steer hard and then correct. Practice smooth in smooth out and turn in one motion to the apex. Brake bias is key for entering corners, usually the rule of thumb is, RWD move it back, FWD move it forward. FF1600, is RWD. Install crew chief so you know when a car is aside you. Hope this helps.

@@atlantic_love Look at what I wrote. They can improve the surroundings of the tracks for sure. The asphalt and curbs look good. The cars look better than ACC imo. And the movement of the cars is for sure better, everyone can agree on that. The environment tho sux especially on old tracks it looks like it's from 2006
Yep, that is what I initially thought before I checked and got the wrong info 😅. I even said I thought it was a formula Ford and worse, if you just look at it you can see it's all in the rear. WTF was I thinking 🤔
Great Breakdown! I also was very hooked on GT7 and passed the 700h mark when things got a bit stale. Now I am regularly attending races in the World Sim Series (WSS) in AC via the content manager (which is a must for modern AC). There is also a race licence/safety rating system in place incl. driver reports with stewards when you want to report a driver/incident. There are a lot of great events to choose from and some very entertaining stuff from third party organizer's on top (e.g. AUSSIE OLD SKOOL WORLD TOUR). It's a ton of fun and everything is for free after purchasing AC with all DLCs. You really should give it a try! I just don't know how crowded it is in your time zone as the vast majority of players seem to be from Europe.
I can't be the only one who can't get most parts of content manager to work? Missing out on all the best AC has to offer is a real shame but its just not as user friendly as I'd like!

If you want quick racing GT7 AND FORZA would be best for you. iRacing is a professional platform, the physics out perform console racing games. The graphics engine for iracing is supidly old, but for me i don't care as long as the physics are right. ACC isnt that pretty and has shiteee AA.
i have similar feelings about this video. the author is clearly more of a casual driver (nothing wrong with that!) and a lot of those spins and crashes are 100% just skill issue. iracing is a competitive video game at the end of the day and those are not everyone's cup of tea. good video tho, i finished it :)
@@lopata_So Iracing having a bad tire model is skill issue ?! 😂 Go and drive the Mazda Cup on Assetto Corsa LFM. You can literally push the car exactly like in real life. Stop talking bs.
You've got nothing good to say about iRacing. I've been using iRacing for over 14 years and I am by no means a fan boy but I think your take sounds like someone who prefers the console way of racing. No disrespect but I think you should probably stick to Forza and gt7.
I absolutely love iracing i mean yeah it sucks sometimes im currently on D class after a month using iracing im still learning about but so far im loving it wish i done this pc sim racing when i was a kid lol
i could not agree more, this is the longest skill issue I've ever seen in my life, 26min of complaining that its a hard game. like bruh your Irating determines your split, you want good races get better at the game lmao.
Imma be real with you. This whole comment sounds like a lot of cope. Any video game. Especially a racing sim should not be a subscription service. Iracing isn't an extraordinary sim. There's nothing it does better than gt7, acc, or forza. And the few things it does do better don't make it worth a repeat purchase
@pain4623 I can see where your coming from, I primarily race Nascar and Dirt Oval on Iracing, and have been for 3 years, before that it was impossible to find a sim that met my requirements and expectations. Not to mention, there are hardly any that feature dirt oval racing. The last good Nascar game made was thunder 2004. And none of the world of outlaw games have been particularly good. So, for 12.99 a month, I will gladly pay to take part in some of the biggest Nascar and dirt oval races out there. I'm not trying to call you poor or anything, but I don't particularly find it that expensive. Hell, all I do is not eat out for one day, and boom saved enough for next months subscription. I think Iracing is an amazing simulator for Nascar and Sprint cars, I couldn't tell you about formula or sports cars as I don't drive them but I have played asseto corsa and will admit it's a fun game. It's just not my cup of tea. I think you have to take into consideration the niche communities of racers. While there are a huge amount of race formula and sports, there is a giant amount that does Nascar and Dirt car racing. While there are toxic racers out there, 99% of the time, I've had nothing but absolute joy talking with the other racers. And I think in part it's due to the fact that we all love racing and Iracing is the first to do our favorite section of the sport correctly. I do still stand by my initial comment, though. He does a lot of complaining without any type of subjective view. As is, he was almost looking for issues. I believe he was unbiased in his video, and that leads to poor views twords the game and communities. While he is aloud his opinion, my opinion is that he is wrong, which is how he went about making the video.
How is that his problem? He literally showed in the video that he is getting around 700 Mb/s download speed and only 2 Mb/s in iRacing. The problem are the Iracing servers.
I don't think the Ray Formula is front drive ? Rear engine rear drive .
You know I think you are correct. I had to change my script when I read a Reddit post and someone said it was front wheel drive. I thought wtf? Well it kind of explains the handling. But I should have checked better!
12:16 that right there shows that iRacing really hasn't improved much over the years. New cars, new tracks, new weather, SAME OLD BUGS / GLITCHES.

Visuals look great. They could improve the views of the surrounding, but generally it looks better than ACC for instance IMO. The style is better.
no it does not
No, the visuals don't look great. Open your eyes.

iRacing is a good simulator if you understand car handling and racecraft. For casual racing I suggest Mario Kart 64
Diddy Kong Racing > Mario Kart
Let’s cut to the important question, what is that whiskey?
That whisky is a spiced rum 😋

The intro 😂
Just started this iracing game and it is disappointing rain is more like black ice.
was hoping this was about the new update.......lip sync? Iracing is a blast when you figure out the car.
The audio is out? I was wondering about that but figured I was getting into my own head about it 😅

Total fraud of a game, 😮
You can do better than Forza or GT7 when it comes to livery, you just have to learn photoshop or GIMP.
