I like how you added the extra pad between the heatsink and the back, great idea. Heat really does a number on CPU's. I've tried to reflow the cpu on 2 different brands of TVs and didn't have any success, possibly I didn't do it long enough worried about frying the CPU or my flux just evaporated too fast. Both times it was hot enough to see the flux smoking. I primarily use Amtech 213 but just purchased their 559 as it is suppose to be a bit thicker, so when I get the opportunity to try it again I'm going to use the 559 and see if that lasts a bit longer under the hot air.

many times i reflow the bga chip without the flux, if you worry to damage the chip reflow it from the bottom of the board it is more safe, always keep moving your hand

I have an LG55UM6910PUC it just shows blue/green screen. When it first happened there was audio and you could switch channels but no picture. Now there is no audio so I can't tell if the channels are changing with the Remote.

So did you just reseat the same cpu and add a heatsink, or was the CPU shot?
