Man, feels a bit weird to watch a channel baloon in subs & views like crazy. Its been just a week or so since watching and you've gone from near 1k subs at 980subs and talking in vids about celebrating 200 subs. Now here we are at 3k subs from 2k subs of like 3-4 days ago
In one of the next couple videos I say how I wonder what we will be at when I get back from china, maybe nearly 2000 haha. Its just mind blowing to me and I never expected to have this many people enjoying a show together. I'm beyond grateful ❤
Loving his reactions and his commentary, not only on the technical stuff but also on the philosophies and values around the sports and life in general. ♥
"SUGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" That scream will never not make me cry...
Now *THAT'S THE ACE!* The team is complete, every piece is on its place, now Karasuno's born anew. From now on, things will get harder and more epic as we continue growing and keep forward. Buckle up Lachy, because this is just when Haikyuu truly starts.
Aint no way we just at the start line bro, I already been on a rollercoaster... hahah
@@lachyywhite oh boy you have no idea...
@@lachyywhite it's is a WILD RIDE FOR SURE
Episode 9 making you cry? Certified Haikyuu moment right there. Classic.
Definitely hit me hard
The reason why this is such a comfort show for tons of people, is mostly because these boys, this team (and even other teams as well), they're an ode to trying your best and communicating in a healthy way. Sure, they fight sometimes, but that's being human, and in the end they always resolve things in a way that makes them a better person. I've watched Haikyuu for the first time when I was in a tough place (I'm in the middle of a very challenging uni course), and even tho I played volleball for 6 years I stopped loving the sport because of horrid teammates who would belittle me quite a lot. This show managed to heal my relationship with volleyball, while also making me understand that it's okay to struggle, and that I'm not alone. I feel like the values it holds and the themes hit homes for a lot of very different people, whether they've played volleyball or not, and that's why it's such a fan favourite show
This is such a great way to put it! Thank you so much for sharing. I definitely agree they show case growth and how to communicate and have conflict in healthy way or at least learning how too
I feel like Haikyuu has some of the best impact frames/pencil sketch moments in all of anime. They’re always perfectly timed to build the sense of either hype or dread and I love it
They're always brought in at the best moments
"i don't think i can say i have a favorite character anymore" that's the true haikyuu experience hahahha
I'm definitely understanding that more now haha
It's so heartwarming to me seeing an educator like Takeda... He really cares about those boys and is willing to bend back and forward even in his off time for them. I had very few teachers in my days, maybe 1 or 2 that I remember fondly, and to me it always downed me that most didn't even care if I was there unless it was to count presence. Takeda to me is what being a "sensei" is all about.
I always believe that teaching is such an important job, we all remember the impact a good teacher has had on us
I really relate to this sentiment. Takeda is the kind of teacher not many students have but all kids deserve.
I just had stuff in my eye that was all....
You better take care of your eyes, tons of stuff gonna get in there in future episodes
😂
Just keep a tissue close 😂
Constant stuff in my eyes whenever I watch this show, I get chu
😂😂 I expected to see tears in this episode. Kinda thought you would connect with the emotions in this episode. I honestly don't love this episode of the show that much but it's one of my favourites to watch others react to. Thanks for the upload ❤
everybody gangsta until Azumane screams "SUGAAAAA" :D
AMEN
30:14 that's honestly one of the biggest strengths of haikyuu. Every single character gets to struggle and shine and its not just limited to the karasuno team or even volleyball players. You could ask 20 different people who their favorite character is and I doubt you'd get the same answer more than 3 times.
Hmmm yeah its super interesting, they cover so many different personality types that everyone can relate to the show
The way Daichi just knows what to say really gets me all the time. The third years are different kinds of mature, but Daichi being picked as the captain just makes soooo much sense. His maturity really helps him stay composed which makes him a very strong pillar for the team. I just love this show man 😭
Diachi is the final boss of captains
"i'm in love with everyone"; yes, and you will love the enemies, too.
I'm starting to learn this
4:38 Pretty sure someone has already mentioned but whatever, Asahi and Nishinoya are literally opposites in many ways.
- Of course there's the appearence, Asahi is big and looks scary and Nishinoya doesn't even reach 160cm
- Asahi is a bit of a coward, he's very sensitive and insecure, Nishinoya is just the opposite, he's energetic and loud
- Asahi's last name "Azumane" (東峰) is written with the kanji for "east" and "peak", while Nishinoya (西谷) is "western valley"
- Nishinoya's first name Yu (夕) means "evening", Asahi (朝日) means "morning sun"
- Nishinoya's birthday is 10/10, Asahi's is 01/01
- Their position can be viewed as sort of opposites: Libero vs Outside hitter
They're a match made in heaven ❤
Hahah this is super interesting! Amazing character design by the author
Without spoiling anything plot related (so only what has been covered so far).
Tsukishima and Hinata are also written as complete opposites.
Height is the obvious one. Covered in earlier episodes, feeling on volleyball is another. Tsuki doesn't take it too seriously because it is "just a club". (The background into why both feel this way is also opposite.) Hinata is incredibly passionate about volleyball.
Tsuki is calm and quiet, Hinata is loud. Tsuki is negative and puts down others. Hinata is overwhelmingly positive and inspires/compliments others.
Tsuki is an analytical player while Hinata moves on instinct.
Tsuki role is to "shade" the view from the opponents spikers. Hinata's is about rising over the "horizon".
Tsuki means moon. Hi means sun.
Their full last names mean "moon island" which emphasizes Tsukishima's loner attitude. Hinata means "towards the sun" which again highlights his continuous positivity.
Interesting Tsukishima's first name is Kei meaning "firefly" which could be interpreted as a small light in the dark...
Every time I hear it... the "Sugaaaaaa!!!" starts the water works right up. The passion, the drive, everything just bottles up to that point and releases with that yell
It is great voice acting, hits you right in the feels
22:40 "when you're kind of friends with someone this doesn't really happen, because its only really brothers that fight" man i love how well you're able to pick up on the themes and character dynamics of the show! loving the reactions and i cant wait for you to experience the rest of this amazing show.
Thanks so much for your kind words and I'm really glad you enjoyed that line hahah. I find it super true and was showed so well in this episode
The Haikyuu mantra is "if you're not crying, you're lying." 🤭
HAHAHA I can understand this a bit better now
Haikyuu really does a significantly better job at getting you to care about the characters than a lot of more serious and dramatic shows with higher stakes. I think the fact the conflicts are so grounded and believable is its strength. Being too insecure and anxious that you forget you can rely on the people around you -- even feeling guilty about the idea -- isn't a conflict unique to volleyball. It is tackling some very heavy themes about the intersection of individuality and group dynamics and using volleyball as the framework to explore them.
It definitely does a great job of grounding the themes into an everyday situation that nearly anyone can relate too
And the way Hinata always comes in and just breaks all the norms and all the negativity up with some silly comment, or a serious comment or just something random. He's such a brilliant character, the type of person everyone and every group needs, not just wants. He makes everything seem so easy to overcome, and once you take those first steps after he shakes things up it becomes easier and easier to overcome. Just having that character to get everyone taking that first step out of darkness/negativity is priceless..... and he doesn't even know what he's doing half the time🤣😂🤣 He's such a pure character.
That closeup imitating Hinata climbing the window saying hi to Asahi was perfection 🤣🤣🤣
Your sleep paralysis demon watching like...
I LITERALLY just finished binge watching your other 8 reaction videos! What a treat to get your E9 reaction right after!!! Love your reactions to Haikyuu!
SAME
Lets gooo! That's perfect timing
THIS is the moment I fell absolutely in love with this anime, the flashbacks, Asahi’s realization that he’s not alone, Noya’s faith in his spikes, Suga’s hesitation disappearing the instant his Ace asks for a toss, and of course Asahi screaming “SUGAAAAAAAAAA” it’s such a powerful scene. I cry every single time I watch it on my own, and tear up when I watch a reaction of it. Perfection
it has so many elements that work together perfectly! It definitely was a masterpiece
The "I'm not fighting alone" line always gets to me it's ridiculous
This episode was just filled with great lines
13:02 "Asahiiiii 👁️👄👁️"
First time I watched that scene with Asahi I was an immature high schooler & was kind of resistant to how emotionally heavy all this was, & all I could think was "damn that ball's been in the air forever lol"
I feel like now I am able to appreciate the earnestness and theatricality of it more, & how the scene is colored by Asahi's emotions. That spike represents an internal victory over his own self-doubt and insecurity.
Hahah the ball was in the air a while, they brought so many great themes and aspects into that one moment
Almost every time (not this time) I just get reminded of yaboyroshi joking that the ball got stuck up in the rafters
I think this episode is one that hooks people hardest. Previous episodes have their moments, but Asahi's spike has a lot of emotional and narrative build up, which is reserved to a few special moments in series. The only moment that come close to this in terms of emotional weight is Kageyama tossing to HInata for a first time, but it's a quieter moment, overshadowed by more bombastic scenes like Hinata's slide hit in first ep and first quick attack between Hinata and Kageyama.
I couldn't agree more, this part had definitely hit me the hardest so far!
Hypekyuu does such a good job building up the team and their personalities and this is the ep that officially hooked most of us. We got our team and now we can play!
Yes sir, we got all the boys and we here to destory
Also I love how every reactor and every person that watches this anime has a favorite character, and even end up getting the shirt with the number. That is so amazing about this anime, everyone can relate to something. Mine is Daichi. I 100% relate to the leader that has no particular overwhelming talent but through hard work and knowing his team can provide strong foundation for everyone to raise the team together.
I will 100% be doing this, and I'm glad you understand the Daichi love as well
I love this comment section where there's endless listing of this episode's greatness. But the fact that you observe, notice and apreciates everything, even from day 1, is unbelievable to me. It makes your reaction the most wholesome I've ever seen. Your reaction really warms my heart. Also, I don't think I showed apreciation before, because I don't think reactors have to, but thank you for sharing every episode for free to everyone at the same time. It definitely makes a difference the fact we're all on same page with the reactions. It makes me want to comment more.
Thanks so much for your kind words, this totally made my day. I'm really glad you've been enjoying the reactions and I always try my hardest to notice things but this one is a lot easier for me since I've experience so many of the situations myself!
This is my favorite episode. This episode is the reason I got hooked forever to Haikyuu. Every plot that ties in this episode, the music, the animation, the flashbacks, the spike at the end, Nishinoya training on the one thing he felt he failed to the team even when he was banned, Asahi's voice change when he calls for the voice and the last shot where it almost seems like he has tears in his eyes. The music, THE MUSIC man, 24:25 it is silent, and when Asahi comes out telling Nishinoya he wants to keep spiking, the score starts building up until the save moment, and then comes down to culminate in the last spike. THE SCORE has all the praises and it is another extra character in this anime. So much passion and love and care for this anime, these characters and their stories in only 9 episodes. It is too much. I could talk forever on how many things I love about this episode and I will never get tired of watching it.
It has so many great aspects to it that all combine together into the masterpiece. Definitely my favourite episode so far
This is everything I wanted say and more this episode it the one that made me fall for haikyuu
27:28 In earlier episodes you were saying, "Why does Haikyuu!! make me want to tear up?" and I was thinking, just you wait until episode 9. 🤣 "SUGAAAAAAA" That scream gives me chill every time.
Hahah bro was waiting this whole time knowing I'd be a mess hahah
"a simple and obvious thing". this was the scene that absolutely cemented the show as one of my all time favorite sports-shows
10/10 was elite
THE VIEW FROM THE SUMMIT
There isn't a single person who has played a team sport at some point in their lives who has watched this episode without getting emotional.
10/10 could not agree more
"I love them all." Yes, as you probably already know, it's very difficult t choose a favorite chatacter in Haikyu!😂
Aint this the truth haha
Yup there it is, this is the episode where they go from "the boys" to "MY BOYS"
SO TRUE!
Honestly, the Mangaka is such a master buildup and payoff time and time again during this series you see the build up of something and even if you know that it's coming the pay off is always ao satisfying! THIS is but an example and I'm so excited to see you witness the rest of them.
Also you can't hate any of the characters, they're all so well-written and compelling
They do build up the moments really well, and this pay off felt great haha. And it seems each character I get to meet all have something about them that I love
@lachyyywhite Haikyuu is very praised for handling side characters and tryst me pay off are satisfying to witness till the very last panel of the manga and anime
*Asahi: I lack nothing.*
I love that self actualization; it's so powerful!
I was so hyped when I saw your thumbnail, I knew it was going to be a good one! This was fun as ever! Thanks for the reaction~
Hmmm that was such a great quote, this episode was a masterpiece as a whole
You are starting to get it :P - its impossible to not love any Haikyuu character - they are all so amazing from the main characters to people who show up for fifteen seconds. This is one of my favourite moments in Season 1 - That build-up into such amazing spike!
It was a masterpiece!
The teacher’s name is Takeda Ittetsu but we just call him Takeda (Tanaka calls him “Take-chan”)
Also idk if you already read some of the similar comments like this or someone informed you but watch each OVA’s after one season. After season one, watch haikyuu OVA 1 that’s available on youtube. After season 2, watch Haikyuu OVA 2 then so on and so forth. All OVAs are available in youtube ^^
I had heard about the OVA's but this breaks it down really well thank you!
The animation change while spiking will always give me goosebumps
They know just when to step up the animation in key moments!
Some detail btw: This is all set around 2012. And Miyagi (the place where Karasuno is located) is moderately more rural. So you'll likely see more flip phones or people finding smartphones a as a totally new concept.
Ahhh true! That's super intersting
one of my favorite episodes of season 1 :,) I've seen the "SUGAAAAAAAAAA!!" scene in all the mediums its been portrayed (manga, anime, stage play) and it just never fails to make me cry. From the buildup to the absolute passion and power in that voice!! and as always the music is _chefs kiss_
That's so cool you've seen it so many different ways! Each element of this episode was amazing and all came together so well
I’ve watched several volleyball players reaction videos to Haikyuu! but you are my favorite because you really understand the emotional and psychological interplay. So many of your insights from the very beginning made me think just wait until you see X episode. It’s almost like you wrote (and obviously lived) this show. It’s such a delight to see you delighted. And emotional. All the feels. I like that you stop and tell us how you relate to what’s going on. Thank you, too, for listening in Japanese and appreciating the original voice actors. Also, just like you feel you can’t pick a favorite Kurasano player, you’ll probably feel that way about every character on every team. There are no villians, just rivals…people who challenge you and who you learn from. You’ll feel the pain of other teams’ losses, too.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate you being here to watch with me, it means the world. The show does a great job of making you love every character and show casing so many different themes and emotions through these characters
only haikyuu can make me feel so emotional, like avangers end game final battle but with just setting one ball instead, I think it makes me even MORE emotional 😅
Hahah avengers endgame was a gut punch over a whole movie
Way back when I watched this for the first time, the “SUGAAAAAA” scream was the first time I got full body chills and knew I was in this for the long haul ❤
It is such a beautiful moment
Today is way easier to read the subs easier and the bookshelf isn’t behind the screening window. Thanks man!
Hahah I didn't even realize! I will try my hardest to keep it like this but there may be some with it back the other way that I've already recorded I'm sorry
yeah when Asahi calls for it, freakin gets me in the feels EVERYTIME!!! lol bruh. it doesn't ever get old. it hits (not pun intended) everytime
the artwork, the attention to detail, the music, the way they build it up with the story, even how they frame it all, just pure perfection lol
So good brother! This episode was a masterpiece in every aspect. Thanks so much for your comments explaining the other points as well!
@lachyyywhite for sure!!! Also, a note (not a spoiler) Season 1 episode 24 there's a post credit scene. Don't skip it.
speaking of amazing voiceacting, Nishinoya has the same VA as Bakugo from my hero academia. Kills it every single time :)
Bro is incredibly talented
hello! I'm a new subscriber! I loved your reactions and comments about Haikyuu!! This anime has taught me a lot and has led me to become interested in the sport of volleyball, of course at my age I can no longer practice it but this anime has made my children interested too! greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷🤗
Thanks so much for being here to watch with me! And that is super cool it got you and your kids into the sport!
AHHH i found you just the other day and haikyuu is like my favorite anime of all time!! your reactions are so fun to watch!!
Thank you so much and I'm super grateful to have you here on the journey with me!
I love your reactions so much! I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but watch out for the after-credit scene when you get to episode 24 of season 1. It's the first true post-credit scene of the series!
Yes. Lachy please note
I will remember to watch! I usually check each episode just incase as well
I remember my first time watching Haikyuu I had the worst allergies you've ever seen, my eyes were puffy like every day and I just kept sniffling.
Hahah me too... that's what I'll say
Always refreshing to have a little cry while watching this episode, it never fails to bring out all your inner vulnerabilities seeing someone as big & powerful as Asahi dealing with his.
Absolutely, they relate the struggles to such real world situations so it's so easy to have it hit you in the feels
How can I still cry watching this episode?! I've seen this show at least 5 times! Why am I still crying?! Damn this music, this scene, the voices, everything is so fucking perfect! Once again I loooooove your react, thank you so much for all the feels!
Haha everything about this episode was a master piece so I feel you, thank you so much for your kind words and for being here to watch with me
this episode is what made me fall in love with haikyuu and one of many reasons why its my favorite anime of all times.
Just seeing the passion and love for game and camaraderie among friends and teamplayers all perfectly summed up in one episode. First we see Noya working and training his follow ups because he realized that he was lacking in that department and that outcome could be different if he performed it better during date tech match last year, and then we see Sugawara saying how he needs to keep improving and working on his quick attacks so that he does not need to rely on ace so much and in return makes job easier for ace in the same time. Then we see flashback with broken broom and how it ended up like that and it really hit me in the feelings when i remember the words suga said to hinata. "we can still fix it and use it", he wasnt talking about broom, he was talking about mending the friendship among teammates that fell apart in the same time broom snapped. By leaving the broom there it was like clinging to hope that one day they will all be back together. Just like how Nishinoya refused to play without asahi cause he is afraid a win would prove they dont asahi and he does not want too feel that way or even acknowledge the posibility, karasuno collectively refused to throw a broom away as to say they are not giving up on asahi. Then you see it all come together and Asahi screams "SUGAAAA" and that always gets me. The tears are real.
Tanaka crying over Nishinoya's Follow-up realizing how dedicated he was with his training even while he was suspended, even though he already decided not to come back and play if Asahi is not back he kept training hoping it all pays off without any certainty... (all that training and dedication and he was still willing to throw it all away if Asahi wasnt back)...
"i am not fighting this battle alone", followed by bewildered look in Hinata's eyes realizing what it means to be ace and seeing one first hand
Everything in this episode was a masterpiece, so much symbolism and interwinding stories. It was easily my favourite episode so far!
I cry every single time I watch this episode, I was so excited to see your reaction! 🩷😭
It definitely hit me hard, thank you so much for being here with me to watch!
The story-telling, the character growth, the bond between the characters. Every single thing is done right in this anime, the amount of emotion and determination placed into this will always be mentioned in the community. I am so happy to see your reactions every time, the raw emotion and the education you tell is inspiring! 💙
All the elements they bring together into one show is crazy, and I’m just starting! Thank you so much for your kind words and I really appreciate you being here with me
Youre so real istg i also cried a lot when i watched this episode, the moment Noya screams at Asahi with every feeling he's been keeping since they fought IT BROKE ME😭
these reactions feel like watching Haikyuu for the first time :')
Thanks so much for your kind words, and the voice acting in this episode was eliteeee. They did such a great job of portraying the emotions
Takeda sensei... Unsung hero of this episode for me... Making stuff happen behind the scenes...
I have not seen anyone get up to episode 9 and not get emotional throughout the rest of the series.
Love the reactions!
More pencil sketch to come!
He is absolutely the unsung hero, and I'm super excited to see those pencil sketches as I know it means the scene is really good as well
you really GET it. can't wait to follow as you move through this series, you're gonna CRY and hold even more speeches along the way.
love the way you do this, the pacing, stops, understanding the sport, appreciation and comments, attention to detail is on point.
Wow thanks so much for your kind words, that means the world to me. I’m super grateful to have you here with me as I go on the journey
oh my god i started tearing up again when suga heard asahi call for a toss and he was like 'oh, the ace awaits' 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Such a masterpiece of a scene
I'll be honest. I'm here til ya finish. This series kills me with how well they show the reality of high level HS sports
Haikyu has always been my favorite anime because it really just hypes you up each episode & the characters are all so supportive and they go tbrough real life tribulation. I hear so many people talk on it being unrealistic for the freak quicks and stuff, but at the core of the anime its a team growing together and experiencing such a deep passion for a sport!
The great story telling and characters far out weigh any doubt on the unrealistic elements. It’s anime it has to have some flair hahah
I never truly appreciated the animations and details of this anime until you started commenting about all the intricate details. Even when you spoke about the sound of the Molten balls and the Mikasa balls, it just instantly clicked with me at the feel and sound and how they differ and just how intricate this anime is. I think that's why it clicked and was so easy to enjoy and love, the detail was so intricate you almost forget it's an anime, it's almost like it's a memory you're reliving.
This is a great way to look at it! It's so accurate across so many fronts that you find yourself feeling so comfortable while watching
In Japan, Teachers in charge of the club don't get salary that is equivelant to the amount of work they do.
In addition to their salary as a teacher, they are paid less allowaces.
Wowzers they getting stitched up
I think you put into words really well how men deal with confrontation. We'll fight, get it over with, and then either we'll never speak to each other again or be good friends afterwards. There's rarely any in between or grudges to be held 😅
Was waiting for this episode ever since I watched your first reaction video!! It was as satisfying as I had hoped it would be! I'm going to go sob in the corner now and fully wallow in the Haikyuu feels.😭
Hahah I appreciate you sticking with me up until this point! I'll be in the corner with you hahah
The team is almost all together! It only gets better.
It’s crazy to think it’s gets better bro 🤯
I don't know how many times I've watched this episode, but it never gets old and it always makes me emotional.. Was great watching your reaction as well. So fun to hear your thought regarding the sport and stories from your own life.
It seems this episode holds a special place for a lot of people. Thanks so much for being here with me and your kind words, it means the world to me
20:02 my favorite translation of that line, can't remember which one it is it literally might be the dub (which is absolutely just Haikyu!! on crack if you wanna watch that after the initial run through btw, I'd say most of the fandom has at least watched both if not seen them multiple times because going back through a second time is, I kid you not, MORE fun imo... BUT I DIGRESS), is "Don't you dare give up on a ball I keep in play" instead of that's not your choice. I think that expresses Noya's motivations, in that argument and in games, really really well; it's like Asahi is giving up on Nishinoya when he gives up on a ball, but Noya would never give up on him and I think that's what Daichi meant when he said Suga and Noya actually have big hearts 😫😭 Always sobbing, I love this show and I love seeing how everyone interacts with Asahi as someone with Noya's size and Asahi's panic
Also Coach Ukai is one of my favorite characters that we meet, and I love when we get snippets of him humming or singing because his voice actor sounds sooo 😍🥴
That whole scene in the cupboard was fantastic and Noya's belief in Asahi is very emotional. This was easily my favourite episode so far!
I love that you actually tear up cuz we all do too😭😭😭
Hahah it definitely hits me in the feels
I was having a really bad day, this notification made me happy, I'm so ready to cry, LET'S GO!
have a rest, sleep, and hope u get better day after bro/sis!
@@kaigaikarano thank you so much 💗
Hahah I'm glad this made things better for you! I hope the rest of your day is better and I'm always grateful to have you here!
@@lachyywhite it ended up being a good day, thank you!
another amazing reaction as always! in lachy we trust lol. 100% my favorite haikyuu reactor as of late.
Hahah you're making me blush up in here! Thanks so much for your kind words and I really appreciate having you here to watch with me
woo another fantastic reaction!!
ah the ninth episode, the tears generator. no one can resist being absolutely hooked on haikyuu after that one
also love the surface pressure reference lol, that's my favourite song from encanto too
it definitely hit me hard, and I'm glad you like that song as well! I might have to watch it on here
Every episode is the new best episode!! I love how quickly we get updates from you!
I'm definitely feeling every episode to be my new favourite haha
This is the episode where you truly are hooked and fall in love with the show.
This is my favourite episode.
This has been one of my favourites episodes so far!
I literally just finished watching someone else react to the whole series and I thought, I don't need to watch any more Haikyuu reactions right now....and then I found your videos and here I am again.....Appreciate your genuine reactions!!! It really is impossible to pick a favorite character, esp. as we go on and meet other teams and learn more about everyone.
Hahaha I feel blessed to have you choose me to watch straight after! And I’m definitely finding that I love every character that we come across
I LOVE THAT SONG FROM ENCANTO!! its my favorite song and it makes me cry too!! 😭
Hahah I'm glad I'm not the only one
I love this episode, it's full of emotions, just amazing, thank you for your reaction as always, hope you're having a great day!
Thanks so much! I'm really glad you liked it and I hope you're having the best day ever as well!
That’s our ACE! 😁
Yes sir!
this episode is one of the best ones, when Asahi screams out Suga's name I don't think I know a single person who hasn't gotten emotional during that part. I love Karasuno as a team so much. Also this is off-topic but I remember you mentioning that you also played a lot of football (or soccer) so if you were ever looking for another sports anime to look into I think Blue Lock is one that you would really enjoy. It's quite a different type of sports anime to Haikyuu.
I've had several people say I should watch blue lock! I've put it on my list and might check it out after Haikyuu!
Yes, this anime is a big hit and also has a very great community, but the reason I subscribed to this channel is because I like how you bring your perspective and the past experience to the reactions. It's real and good storytelling. After Haikyu, I am going to check out the other videos.
Wow thanks so much for your kind words! Its orally made my day. I’m really glad you like the stories I bring and I’m super grateful to have you here with me!
Cried once again watching this episode...everything you said just made me cry harder. it's nice to hear some side stories u've got from your experience too! Btw everyone's telling you the truth cuz this is just the start...!! bet you're going to fall in love with more people from now on lol. it is the BEST anime ever afterall.
Thanks so much for watching this emotional episode with me, and each time I meet a new character I seem to love them straight away hahah
Man, i loved this episode so much 😭😭. Asahi is one of my top 10 fave characters in this show and it just took 2 episodes for me to fall in love with this guy 😢. Can't wait for the other teams, there are so many great characters in every single one of them. The pencil sketches, bro they are so good at using them in every epic scene and make it even better!
So fyi, in this anime the team of the main character doesn't win every game like in other sports anime so i'd be careful with saying they're gonna wipe the floor with some other team, you might jinx it 😅.
Btw, every time you drop your Haikyuu reaction videos, it's like almost midnight where i live but i can't resist and have to watch it the moment i get the notification 😭. Not complaining though, today's been a pretty hard day with work and stuff, this just made it so much better!!! ❤
I'm all tears every single time I rewatch this episode, and I'm not ashamed of it.
It is a master piece
And welcome to the episode that got most people hooked if they werent already.🤣🤣🤣
It is definitely one of my favorite episodes but there several episodes throughout the series so far that are also as amazing.
I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about the line art, it really just adds a whole different demention to the episode that does a phenomenal job at highlighting the impact and importance of whatever is being drawn in that style!
They add the lines in at the best times and just do emphasize the power of each situation.
This is the first episode that hits different… but not the last. The squad’s all here and now the show starts rolling. You’re in for a ride!
I can't believe we're only just beginning. I feel like I've already been on a rollercoaster
@@lachyywhite haha, you literally watched the slowest episodes of the whole show. 😂 They were just introducing all the characters. Now you get Nekoma and the real matches! Your reactions have been great. Keep it up, all the Haikyuu fandom will find you. When one reactor finishes the show, we all just find a new one and start over. 😂
The whole Karasuno team has arrived!! Now I cant wait for you to see the official matches!
So so excited
The first tears of many, bud.
Hahah I keep hearing this
Best episode I've ever seen!
After I watched 4 seasons
I saw the movie last month and I'm still saying it.😃
TRUE! It was definitely my favourite episode so far!
I'm so glad I found your channel! It's so exciting to rewatch this beast of an anime with an experienced player. I only played for a bit in middle school, and now casually with friends and family, but man. Every single sentiment, memory, and action the characters portray fires me up like I'm right there with them. Asahi and Noya portray the dichotomy that we all never asked for but desperately needed in this episode!! Looking forward to the next reaction video. Keep up the great work!!
It's crazy how easy it is for nearly anyone to relate to the situations in the show, shows the amazing story telling. Thanks so much for your kind words and being here to watch with me!
Another great reaction, really appreciate your unique insights into what's going on. I found your observations about how boys in sports fight vs girl fights illuminating, it kind of made me think too of how Hinata and Kageyama fight a lot but never hold personal grudges afterward, anything they hold onto is their own competitive drive and desire to get better.
Fun fact about Nishinoya and Asahi: they were designed to be opposites. Not just physical design either (although you do have that, with Asahi being tall and broad, and Noya is short and slim), but their positions on the team are opposite (best attacker and best defender), their personalities are opposite, even their names! Nishinoya Yu means "east valley" and "evening/dusk", while Azumane Asahi is "west peak" and "sunrise". It's definitely intentional that they are introduced at the same time, of course, and feels like it plays into the theme of these episodes, that we are introduced to two opposites while they are in conflict, but once resolved, they become like a yin-yang version, one that finally brings the team into balance now that its complete.
And I think that's the true magic of Haikyuu!!, it's that the story is able to make you care about the characters, even ones you've only just met! The show will continue to do that, I've found; the more I watch, the more I realize I love every single character, it's actually pretty difficult to truly hate anyone (yeah, even Tsukishima will get his moment to shine).
Also just wanted to add, you should definitely watch Encanto at some point, it's basically all just character interaction/dynamics, and "Pressure" is such a good song. The character who sings it, Luisa, is absolutely the best!
Thanks so much for your kind words and for explaining noya and asahi for me! That's super interesting how they are opposites. And the boys fighting is something they seem to showcase really well, and that you shouldn't hold grudges. I've added Encanto to my list and I'll definitely watch when I get back!
Haikyuu is my fav sports manga/anime because of how relatable it is to my experience playing sports in high school. In most mangas they display the competitiveness by just making everyone A-holes but those kind of people are usually rare. Especially in team sports. The vibe was much more similar to Haikyuu where things can get really intense in matches and practice but otherwise everyone was cool or at the very least, respectful. I still play pick up games in tennis and basketball but I'll forever miss the days when I played in high school. The joy of training and seeing yourself get a little better each day is so rewarding. Plus I loved heading to tournaments to make new friends, rivals and seeing how I compared people outside my school.
So far they are doing a great job of showcases the competitiveness of sports whilst still making them friendly rivals
31:25 the envy towards oikawa is still on since day 1🔥🔥🔥😂😂
I'm a certified hater hahah
This is it! Whenever I recommend Haikyu!! to someone, I tell them to watch at least until episode 9 :D The first big true payoff and so many characters are getting their final setups.
Now we are at the starting line for the team and the characters and now Haikyu!! can truly start :D By this time you know if you like the show or not.
Glad you are enjoying it that much, I'm looking forward to every new reaction lol
No way we just at the starting line hahah, it is definitely a great spot to get people to watch up too
my only problem with your reactions is that there's not more of them, but then again that's a good problem to have.
Hahah that's super kind of you, I promise there's more coming soon!
AYYYY so ready for this :D just thinking about that scene gives me goosebumps :D
It was definitely my favourite so far!
You will see that "ball compression" a few times, don't worry 🤣
YESSS!
It’s aight man this show gonna make u love most the characters 😂
I'm already feeling that hey
You're only going to get more and more emotional as you get to later episodes so prepare yourself!
Ahhhhh aint no way
🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for my new happy place. Haikyuu doesn't make you want to play volleyball again . Then nothing will. Show cases the very best in a team sport.
It is absolutely making me want to go back haha, thanks son much for being here to watch with me!
