Idea for a really different show: Interview a top notch athletic trainer about all the injuries that pile up for the Pels year after year. There's got to be something they are doing wrong - I can't believe it's just chance. That alone is so discouraging.
Last year, Jake, you claimed that point guard wasn't the team's biggest need, but now, somehow, it is? Which is it? I'm so confused as to where you stand. You've said that BI and JV were/are not good fits for Zion. Please tell me, then, who is? Moreso, please tell me if anybody could possibly be a good fit for a part time player who has shown no interest in truly maximizing his basketball skills and talent here, in New Orleans. It would be unfair to label Williamson as the second coming of Greg Oden. I'm sure you would agree. For certainly, that would be an injustice to Greg Oden whose "BODY" was simply not up to the challenge. Wiliamson's problem seems to be much deeper; "HE", in general, is not up to the challenge...physically, mentally, or emotionally. He's a man-child who hasn't grown up. Look, I'm sure you want the same thing I want, but this 'Freak Show' thing you (and others) have proffered for five plus years has proven not to be the way. "Point Zion? 'Gravity'? "Build around Zion"? "Generational Player"? PSHAW, I tell you, PSHAW!!! Or......am I missing something?
You're spot on. The Pelican fan & media ecosystem simply lacks the courage & intelligence to admit Zion isn't what they've cracked him up to be. They will die before making such an admission. It's pathetic.
Jake, when will the media and the fans see David Griffin behind a microphone answering questions about this season after saying last year “it’s time to get better” and “we’ll figure it out”. We need answers. We need a real media team just as bad as we need a new owner. Absolutely embarrassing. NO ACCOUNTABILITY!
@@quest_yo Not desperate at all, because I am smart. But, thanks, nonetheless, Doc, for your psychoanalysis. Your attempt to demean says more about you than it will ever say about me.
I don’t wanna tank at all I say be as good as you can be you don’t wanna pick up bad habits trying to tank for what ifs. Wherever we land in the draft we take the best player. This team is bad because of injuries/Coaching not because of talent.
As a Grizzlies fan I’m glad you cleaned up your “tanking” take to more pertain to the Hornets game because you all absolutely tried to win against the Grizzlies. 2nd half adjustments by the Grizzlies is what mostly lost you all that game as credit has to be given to the Pelicans for the first half.
People act like tanking guarantees you a top 3 pick & that player will guaranteed be a franchise player. The 76ers wasted half a decade tanking & what did it get them? An injury prone superstar & an all star that would rather be a socialite. Their other top pick suffered an injury that is still murky & never even came close to justifying his #1 selection. All that losing & draft picks & they haven’t even made a ECF. The Suns tanked for damn near a decade & they didn’t do shit until a new owner came in & put his money where his mouth was to win. The Pistons tanked for years & despite the high draft picks, they are still a season or two away from being a top 6 team in their conference. The Pacers tanked after traded PG & if not for the Kings being stupid, they would still be fighting to make the playin or at the bottom of the conference. The Blazers been tanking three seasons, now. Not one NBA team has actually succeeded in tanking & became a true contender. Not one. You wanna turn your franchise into a winning one then you need the owner making a point to win. Stock piling draft picks does nothing but create a culture of losing.
You can’t get a coach to come in or a player to stay here draft who you want they won’t stay this have to stop somewhere. Because you don’t want to win
I wonder if it was all the "special supplements" these guys took as adolescents and teens to help them grow taller is the reason for all the injuries league wide
On training staff and injuries. We have an ideal situation in that ownership has another team of players of the same size as Zion and experts who train them. Saints. When you look at Jason Tatum and BI who looks like they have dedicated themselves to developing , not just maintaining their body? It’s hard to have a culture of TRAINING if your two best players aren’t dedicated workout junkies!
AGAIN!! BI AND CJ SHOULD NOT BE ON THE FLOOR!!! BI is not a#1. CJ IS OVERPAID BY AT LEAST 10mil and is TOO SLOW defending PGs AND TOO SMALL defending everything else. CJ has either slowed development of or cost because of salary Josh Hart, Nagi, NAW, Dyson,Hawk, Boston and Trey! BTW which of them is not a better defender! NONE! BI and CJ represents 66mil. A 40% 3pt shooting rim protection center named Myles Turner would be real nice no matter what we draft. He is perfect next to Zion. BI to Detroit: Turner to Pels : CJ to Orlando. Detroit sends center Stewart and draft compensation to Pacers. Hardaway (expiring contract)to Pels Orlando sends KCP to Detroit and 5 to 8 mil out. Orlando receives #2s from Detroit. I am not opposed to Zion to Nets for Simmons and 2 x #1s in 2025 plus another #1.
Willie Green is the only reason why the Pelicans are tanking
🥱
What is the use of having a top draft pick when you don't have a coach that know how to use them

They already changed the staff.
It’s hard to have a culture of training if your to best players are not dedicated fitness freaks. Zion and BI.
Tanking or not, just want a good and healthy draft pick to help us in the future

@ your comments read like a kid trying to reach the minimum word limit on a term paper
Let’s Tank, sink and sunk!!! Lock in that top 3 pick.
Im down for whatever it takes to get rid of Willie Green

Excellent comment made. An organization cannot promote a culture of losing (low motivation, poor habits, dissension, lack of respect etc.).

Who do you think that the Pelicans will keep? Not trade.
Every dayer!! 🇵🇭🇵🇭
The Saints can't find it coach and the Pelicans need a coach unbelievable
I don't think they're tanking, they just stink. No coaching direction, no emotion, going through the motions.

How can you blame the players if you intend to tank and talking trade. You don’t make sense to me

Without Murray, we look really bad!
Hi Jake , Fire Willie give JB a go
Every dayer 🇵🇱
They cant tank for copper flag they would still be above the luxury tax 😂 his contact would be 10m-12m
Another coach is missing That's what's missing
No, I think that they just could not make any baskets. Just a bad game.
How they play, don't think they have a choice....🏀🇬🇧
They should be tanking. Flagg only cones around once in every 10 years
Charlotte Hornets fan here. Yeah you're that bad New Orleans. You really are 😂. Zion coming home. GO CHARLOTTE HORNETS!
Yes
Yes tank

Blown out by the Hornets? Not tanking, the team is bad with Zion.
Every dayer comment
Wille Green gotta go, Zion gotta go, We have no center cuz Zion is never here to play
Pelicans just suck tbh
Not really. This is a top 5 seed if they were healthy.
Yeah, Murphy can replace BI, huh? LMAO!!!
His ceiling is higher than BI bro. Ntm he's available. BI is way too soft, physically and heart.
I think he fits in better with Zion
Yes tank!!!!!! Get Zion bi Cj out of Nola
Hoping Pels get Tre Johnson or Dylan Harper instead of Flagg. He doesn’t have that IT factor to me IMO
😂😂😂 Have you seen him play?
I have. I see Andrew Kirlenko in him. Good player but not a number 1 overall worthy
