Did y'all listen? They did blame Zion. It's just that in sports and military you still have to attempt to drag the sorry ones with you and make them perform cause it's a unit. Melo was basically saying he needs the kind of vet that will snatch him up. But those are gone now. Zion gets full blame but the team and all his sponsors need him so it is in everyone interest for Zion to succeed. So they have to do things to try. Cause He is the bellcow.

Rudy should've let Melo finish his point about player enpowerment. He was getting into something that a lot of these new players are not realising. As of January 17, 2025, Zion Williamson has played in the following number of games each NBA season:
    2019-20: 24 games
    2020-21: 61 games
2021-22: Did not play due to injury
    2022-23: 29 games
    2023-24: 70 games
    2024-25: 7 games (ongoing season)
    (24 + 61 + 0 + 29 + 70) / 5 = 184 / 5 = 36.8 games per season.
Zion Williamson has averaged approximately 36.8 games per season over his first five NBA seasons.
He's missed 66% of his entire NBA career.

fr I saw Dame working out with Goggins, so I’m sure he’d be down to try to help Zion but I doubt Zion wants to actually help himself

Issue with guaranteed money … once you guarantee a contract what’s the motivation to play - Silver and the PA got to really look at this or else Zion will be the norm for most small market teams or teams will just draft international players

  • @M0T0283
    @M0T0283 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

problem with zion is he doesn’t have the right to be requesting out. like what was said, he doesn’t have the resume. the team has carried him more than he has carried it. they’ve made the playoffs. they have two other guys who’ve been named all stars, cj, and a roster of alvarado, herb, murphy, hawkins, and missi who they just drafted and is already producing more than him. not to mention he’s also played with jrue holiday, josh hart, lonzo, jonas valinciunas, and jj redick. he’s been around good guys and good vets his whole career. he’s had everything handed to him and he still hasn’t produced anything consistent success for the team.
i would blame the team for not being stricter and pushing him, but a grown man doesn’t need that. the rest of the players are all in shape and playing and have never had any drama with the team.
just do your job man you get paid millions and millions of dollars and the least you can do is show up

What’s even more crazy is that he literally has the ball in his court, I’m sure he has so many other former players and trainers he could go to not only get in shape but also prevent the injuries and develop his game. The fact as well that he keeps showing up late shows he doesn’t care. I hope someone around him is showing him what the media is saying and he adjusts. I’m shocked he hasn’t even asked Michael for his contacts in terms of getting fit and locking in smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

It’s crazy because I feel like if he got signed to a stacked team ( Pelicans are decent) he’d have more of a reason to not try… the best way to get results out of him is to cut him from the league after his contract is up and watch him try and grind his way back, otherwise teams would just be wasting millions of dollars on potential 🤷🏽‍♂️

Everytime someone dunks consistently on the lower level they think it’s “the next coming” of LB us yn love Lebron but we don’t look up to that style of play
