Damn near 40 games left. I can promise they aren’t trying to tank.

I absolutely dislike tanking to get a pick that you have no idea is gonna work out. It also tells your guys that's here you're not good enough. It brings down the morale of the team. You can see the difference in the team when #1 returned. Like it or not, he makes a difference. Tanking makes me not wanna watch as a fan. That's taking advantage of the Fandom. I would like to see Missi, Jones, Murray, Murphy and Zion as a starting lineup.

If you look through the last 5-10 years of first round draft picks, there's alot of guys taken in the top 4 that have either been complete flops or nowhere near the level they were projected to be. While I agree it is obviously beneficial to have a top 4 pick, my opinion is you should always build a culture of winning and try to win every game.

You nailed it, and this is where a good owner of the franchise comes in. Rita needs to make both Griffin and Willie feel safe this season. Otherwise they are going to try to win.

Agree (mostly)...there's a disconnect somewhere. This seems to be a common theme with David Griffin since he got here. He wasn't on the same page with Alvin Gentry or Stan Van Gundy either...and it's not just about winning (or losing) games...it's about just about every aspect of running an NBA organization...don't know him personally but he may be a control freak of sorts. Remember the near fight he almost got into with Gentry after saying words to the effect that he gave Alvin 'the answers to the test and he still flunked it..."?

He’s a smug asshole who thinks he knows everything. This is the same man who acted like drafting Anthony Bennett was no big deal. Made it seem like Bennett flipped a switch once he got drafted & decided to just not try. His response to drafting the biggest bust or the worst #1 pick was “sometimes you fuck up”. He whined & complained about having to deal with a superstar who held the team’s feet to the fire to win. Didn’t like the control LeBron had over the team yet look how’s he’s bent over for Zion. LeBron publicly defended him being let go by the Cavs for that snake to say that he doesn’t think LeBron is the same animal when it comes to winning. Only reason he even has the PBO job is because he was lucky enough to be the GM when Bron went back to CLE. He talked cash money shit about how this wasn’t a rebuild but a reload. He claimed that the Pels were trying to compete from jump. That’s how he convinced Redick & Favors to come & how he convinced Jrue to not demand a trade. He lied to Gentry about coaching out his contract & joining the front office just to fire him after purposely not bringing in guys to help knowing our entire big man rotation was out with injuries. Dude fr threatened Gentry’s job if he played Zion beyond the min restriction. He’s a fraud. He tells the fans what they wanna hear & he does nothing to improve the team. Why did it take being without a startling level PG for three fucking seasons for him to even bother getting one? Why has he still not figured out the big rotation? Why do we have rookies who never seem able to contribute unless two guys at their position gets hurt. Why did it take 6 seasons of Zion being unprofessional for him to get any punishment. Why are BI & Zion allowed to show up in the 3rd when they are injured? He runs this team as if it’s filled with mentally disabled players. You’d think the Pels played in a special Olympics league not the NBA.

Idk how you can sit there and be happy with anything Griff has done. All those picks we got for AD and Jrue went to shit. No good aggressive trades. Poor drafting and counting on broken players.
Zion draft: F, we drafted 2 of the worst players in the first round instead of taking D Garland, C White, PJ Washington, Tyler Heroo
2020 draft: F, again drafted on3 if the worst prospects in the first. Passed on Cole Anthiny, Beef Stew, Saddiq Bay, Tyrese Maxey
2021 draft: A, his best draft and possibky his best ever trade with Pels. Trey and Herb and the only person you pass on is Sengun. Without getting veey luck in the second this still might be a B
2022 draft: B, Dyson seems to be one of the better playersnin this draft, especially if he can find any consistent offense for himself.
2023 draft: B/C this is to early call but Hawkins atleast seems to fit schematicqlly next to Zion. But man has his shooting been very streaky.
2024 draft: NA, this cpupd be great or a nightmare. Missi was alreqdy much better than advertised and aeems to be a quick learner, but after some tape study h3 was getting picked on for a bit. There is aslo so much Jaxson Hayes in this pick, being a guy with very years of ball. It also waa very qeird that we picked a project C, but made an all in move for Murray
    Trades
AD trade: B, he kinda got handcuffed here, but we made out ok.
Jrue trade: C, those draft picks from the Bucks have proven to not be the "3" firsts with all of the restrictions. Players we got back were.... Eric Bledsoe George Hill
Val trade: B, this trade was pretty complicated and Val was good for us, we landed Trey. But qe dropped 7 spots and lost put on another first for a center who was limited in his game and was a questionabke fit for Z.
Devonte Graham trade: F we gave a first on a Sign and trade for this bum
Lonzo trade: F, even thpugh we ended up winning this trade by sheer luck, we got Garret Temple, T Satoransky and a 2nd... we waited to long to trade him and probably would have done better just keeping him and letting him run out instead of taking the contracts we did.
Val trade away: F, we again waited to long and got no value. He is in rumors to be traded for a first to a contender right now. We got a PROTECTED 2nd round pick
We have waited to long on BI and if CJ doesnt get traded before the deadline we do the same for him.
I project these to be bad values, unless we trade CJ before the deadline while he is hot.
Also why are we ruining our tanking by winning games? Zion and BI arent playing. Why would we even want to limp into the playoffs this year. Get a potential superstar in the draft and let Trey, Hawkins, Missi, Boston, and all the young guys get experince. Let Dj Cj and co come off the bench to get rhythm minutes and/or up trade values.

All those barriers to playing sound ridiculous. I’ve been an athlete my entire life, and a personal trainer for over 20 years. The idea that because a player can’t jump as high a day or two after a game is grounds for cutting minutes or even sitting out is just par for the course with the modern NBA. David Griffin has done a great job ushering in all the modern NBA’s anti-fan, anti-fun, anti-competitive environment that many franchises have adopted. I miss the Dell Demps days.
Whatever the Pelicans are doing, and the NBA as a whole, to prevent injuries has backfired. Players are getting injured far more now than they ever did just a few decades ago. This is despite playing far less. This is despite having far less practices, including a drop in intensity at those practices. David Griffin, and the modern NBA, have developed a perfect system which has bred laziness and a lack of desire to compete.
The human body loves to be beat up, broken down, and tested. When it’s forced into that environment it adapts. It grows stronger and more resilient. This is a fact of life that every former athlete and workout warrior can attest to. The NBA, and David Griffin, have objected to that fact of life to blaze their own path. They are both in the process of finding out what every generation before them already knew. That trying to get out of doing something will never lead to superior results than actually doing it.
I have heard every excuse in the book to justify the modern NBA’s necessity to do less. All of them require mental gymnastics to get behind.
This has been the typical injury return to play program since Griffin has taken over.
    1. Player gets injured.
    2. Player heals from injury.
    3. Player must begin cardio.
    4. Player must compete in a 3vs3 environment, which requires team practices. This alone can take 1-2 weeks, or longer.
    5. Player must compete in a 5vs5 environment with all the same barriers as 4 before passing.
    6. Player returns, but on very limited minutes. It may take a few weeks before player is playing full minutes.
    7. Now that player is competing full time, player must pass physical guardrails after every game before he can compete in next one. If player fails to meet any of those benchmarks he will sit the following game.
    8. Player finally returns to play full-time.
Does anyone really wonder why Pelicans players take twice as long to return from injuries? Why their injury timelines are never met? Why their generational prospect is lazier than any before? The return to play list I gave is only what has been released to the public. What was listed is probably a more favorable set up hurdles than there actually are.

They probably should trade CJ b4 the trade deadline while he still has some value for a team making a run. Ideally, you'd want to get something for BI, but there aren't any takers for the price he's asking for. He'll probably just walk away at the end of the season for nothing in return. Plus, they should hire a new HC in the off-season.

This idea that the season is over is hard to hear coming from someone covering the team. I used to like to hear from you but now I'm not aligned with you narrative so I'll remove myself. No longer an every dayer.

As to playing the younger guys, I think the minutes Green & Theis are getting rn are showcase minutes. If no trades happened at all, I’d still expect those guys- maybe CJ, too- to see their minutes plummet.
As to the coaching thing… I still hold out hope for Chris Quinn. But w/e, if it’s still Willie it’s still Willie, they’ve looked good enough while healthy, I’m worn down

Obviously, the organization not thinking like the analysts. Daa. As they shouldn't. Who really cares how you feel, Jake.. You do realize who you are and who you are not.. you just some pod caster. They shouldn't think like you are they shouldn't be in the seat they are in.They should not do what you think at all cause your job is media they're job is sports. You weak and give up like don't win, what loser says that. Learn to stay in your lane and your pod cast would be better.. why should they do anything you think.. you just a person, you don't even seem like a real fan.
