Just for clarity, do these cameras need an internet connection and a separate router, or does the little mini device that you showed at the beginning create a local wi-fi connection and that’s all that’s required to monitor the cameras? I stay in some pretty remote areas where there’s no phone signal, so if these require active internet they’re a non-starter for me.
Yes I used adhesive sealant called Sikaflex left the mounts in place for a couple of days. It’s the same stuff people use to stick solar panels to roof of the van.
Hi there, thanks for the video. Could you tell me what router your using. Because Blink say it will only work Wi-Fi and not mobile internet? Regards Mark
Nice one just a 3 pack from Amazon sale , can I ask the additional mounts do they come with the ring or did you purchase them Separately. Thanks great channel
they come with basic mounts but we had a branch break one of the mounts so i have taken to sticking them on the side of the van with double sided tape 👍🏻
have to say they are great and the app on your phone alerts you of any activity out side your motorhome and. you can go on the speaker and make sure they know your watching xxx
I used strong double sided foam tape. Be warned that the cameras are not 100% waterproof so depending where placed might mist up. Mine do now but been on for over a year.
Hi guys great video and I’m consider this system for my van . One question though - if you glue the units in place? How can you then replace the batteries? Cheers.
@@NorthernersonTour - but did you not say you would add glue to stop the mounting unit from moving once you had set the camera angle.? Also to stop the possibility of the unit blowing off during transit.
Hi,Mark here. No the main Blink unit is usb powered and the cameras have a small lithium battery in them. It’s an easy install but you will need Wi-Fi in your van.
Thanks for the reply Mark, I want to mount them like you did with yours, up on top of the van, but I cant see anywhere in the ad that says they come with the mounts that you used, the ones you stuck on with Sikaflex, so am I right in thinking I have to buy these separate?@@NorthernersonTour
Any suggestions for a caravan that's kept at storage without any WiFi? I have a solar panel but that's it ? Would like to check in on it or have alerts if anyone comes near / in
Your Caravan would need either it’s own Wi-Fi or a Wi-Fi network nearby that you can access. Without the blink cameras wouldn’t work remotely. I’ve been told that you can use a sd card in the link unit and record events offline but I’m not sure about that !
Very informative Mark.👍 Would you still recommend as we are thinking about following your setup. Give our best to Lisa also oh and wee Chicco we never got to meet😢 Sandra & John 😘
Hi there very impressed looking at these for my motorhome do I need to purchase anything else ? What's the little white box you had all new to this and learning
Hey there, do you have the subscription? It seems that now if you don't, you can't record footage which is not very useful really 🤷♀. I've bought some but just need to find out if they are any use without the subscription 🤔 You're right about waiting til they're on offer. I got 3 for £89. A few days later, they went up to £214 😳
Hi guys! We are looking at getting external cameras round our motorhome and found your video. Are you still using and recommending these Blink cameras or have you decided to upgrade?
Yes we are still using the Blink cameras, I’ve just bought a Echo Show 8 so we can easily view the cameras from inside the van. There will be an updated video out soon !
So watched this video amongst others and decided to get 3 cameras plus sync unit… they barely work and sometimes just don’t work at all. Can I ask what your upload and download speeds are on your MiFi device? About to send it back and get a refund. The Blink tech team are hopeless and offshore. They just told me to contact provider, apparently my sterol is fine. Thanks J
We haven’t had any issues with the cameras unless we are in an area with no mobile signal. Otherwise I can rely on the 24/7. Maybe the hub device has an issue ?
@@NorthernersonTour just tested them on a friends broadband and the system/ cameras actually work. Its just the MiFi that isn’t running any of them, no idea as my MiFi works the Neos camera and streams Netflix no probs. Also the speed tests performed on my MiFi are are above average (download/upload speeds) On Blinks website they have changed the wording to say they can only be connected to a broadband service, guess they realise there’s issues with a lot of customers using 4G or wireless MiFi.
As it works on wi-fi. In a Motorhome is wi-fi on 24/7 even if you don’t have you power on. As we would use it when Motorhome parked up for a few months. New to this 😊
We agree and we hope in an upcoming firmware update that this issue is resolved. However it’s the best system for minimal install and means you don’t have to drill holes in your pride and joy !
Good video. Well presented. Defo wait for it to go on offer as a bit dear for what it is at the moment. Will have to learn how to set up a pice alert 😀
Pretty much useless in pitch black and as thrives tend to operate in the dark .it's ironic that you cannot watch clearly in the dark I fitted them to my autotrail and I'm just about to take them of and replace with tapo
This comment is a big head scratcher for me because even in pitch black the camera emits IR light for clear night vision. Sounds like either user error or maybe yours is broken...
Great timing. Needed exterior cameras for home since crazy person moved in next door. Van later. Thanks.
Thansk for your review, great stuff. I saw they even have a solar panel mount for charging blink outdoor

Great vlog.
Not bad quality and well priced for three of them.
Would be interesting to keep an eye on the battery life ..
Keep us posted !!
Great video, we have been using the Blink system on our van for a while now and we are more than happy with them.
I use these on my van Extra peace of mind when we are away I’m great for keeping eye on the dog in the van
Hi we are struggling with cctv in van … are you running your blink from mobile router , we have a nighthawk netgear. Thankyou
yes we run off our router x
How did you affix the mount?
This is really interesting. I like anything that’s hassle free and no hard wiring. How did you fix the brackets are they stuck down?
Yes I used adhesive sealant called Sikaflex left the mounts in place for a couple of days. It’s the same stuff people use to stick solar panels to roof of the van.
Think I saw screws
Yea. Security devices is a must when doing activity like this.

How do you power the Blink Control Box while off grid?
Want to know if you spray paint the cameras. What do you use?
Great job. Which kind of mount kit is that? Do you have a link for me? Thanks!
Hi I wonder if you can tell me how I get my blink cameras to work on my wifi in my motorhome
Hi Mark, what did you use to stick the mount to the van please? Thank you x

Hi Mark 👍 just us 2saying hi and thanks again for sharing this video and information 👍den and sue 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚌🚌🚌
cheers den 👍🏻
How would one of them cameras work on the back of a caravan just for reversing....thanks for the video.
Hi Pete and Maggie, should work ok but you’ll need permanent Wi-Fi in the caravan that to Blink unit connects to.
Hi guys great video and I’m consider this system for my van . One question though - if you glue the units in place? How can you then replace the batteries? Cheers.
the mounts are glued in place not the unit so can be removed to change batteries xx
@@NorthernersonTour - but did you not say you would add glue to stop the mounting unit from moving once you had set the camera angle.? Also to stop the possibility of the unit blowing off during transit.
How do you put them on without drilling holes
Great video, can the blink system be used on off grid or does the main blink unit need 240 volts to run. Thanks.

they are fine for inside but seem to be adverse to taking water in when placed out side xx
Ahhh thought they would be waterproof.
Won't bother then. Thanks xx
Hi there very impressed looking at these for my motorhome do I need to purchase anything else ? What's the little white box you had all new to this and learning
Hi Zarren. No the initial kit comes with everything you need. Don’t just buy the camera you will need the base station too.
@@NorthernersonTour thanks does the base station come with it and where does the base station go ? How does that work thanks

Just wondering how you keep the Blink module powered on when away from the van?
Could use a Jackery!
Awesome video. Is it possible to leave the camera mounted while driving without worrying it might fall off the mount?
yes our cameras are on there all the time and have never fallen off
Your blink cameras how much is your monthly contract and do you have to have a contract thanks Pat & Rog
How have the cameras held up? Looks like they can fall off the mounts pretty easy.
hi there the cameras are brilliant and never moved a once just back from spain and france so covered miles they are great
Look great 👍🏽
cheers👍🏻
Thanks for the information. Been looking into doing this but Blink do not get great reviews. How are you finding them a couple of months in?
Hi Jon. Still working fine and certainly been exposed to the elements on the roof of the van!
what if someone nicks the cameras?
