The York Deep Dish plates are the original, and the best! And yes I remember that unique clanging sound of those 45s hitting each other- no other brand of plates sound precisely like the Yorks. I remember seeing them for the first time in 9th grade in my high school gym in the 70s. Your buddy Steve had these plates in beautiful pristine condition! Memories… and I feel and understand everything that Brian spoke about regarding these York plates…..fantastic nostalgia !!!

I love road side workouts. When I merchandised I took a barbell and plates with me and would deadlift in the hotel parking lot. Then I went out flatbedding and I used the 20x24ft tarps to do power clean and presses, squats, power snatches, stone to shoulder, and carries. Now I'm dry vanning.
I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to attach a barbell to this truck, and carry my weight plates. I may be able to remove some dividers and use the side compartments.
I unload the trailer and I'm home on weekends so I'm hiking, river swimming(Arkansas in the mountains) and lifting so I'm waiting a few weeks to adjust to unloading the trailers. But the plan is to add in a power clean and jerk with front squats workout, and a power snatch with front squats, during the work week, and then do heavy deadlifts and barbell rows when I'm home.
I'm getting a lot if push and chest from moving the frieght on rollers but I'm considering adding push-ups or banded standing chest press when needed.
Long story short I absolutely love roadside lifting and really hope it catches on and more travelers and truckers start doing it.
It keeps the back strong and pain free, done right.
