Lovely wholesome video. Two beastly world class men helping with humility and genuine love for a sport and confidence in each other. Love this. Well done both!
he's gonna need to rewatch this video a few time but that's awesome that the training session is recorded for him. Easier to see the issues and what Mitch is talking about watching it back
Imagine how much one session like this is worth to someone relatively early in their strongman career. That's awesome. Now when that someone happens to be unreasonably strong to begin with, great things can happen.
This was such an awesome post. The best in the world. I train more like a power lifter at the time, though strongman is my favorite. Seeing Mitchell hooper train John Hack is so awesome.
The two best strength athletes in the world. And Mitchell’s knowledge is unbeatable and he’s a great coach. Now we have to have John coach Mitch in Powerlifting, and see if he can break the all-time world record.
I give it 3 years max before the more refined strongmen Mitch inspires starts setting themselves apart. Thor is king of the second/third gen, but Mitch is the pioneer of the next. The guy that broke the plateau
Great vid John is a really humble dude Mitch same as well great teacher , both seem awesome dudes good luck to John in strongman and good luck to Mitch in pulling 505/510
Great teacher Mitch! John like a lot of powerlifters is very strong in very flexed joint positions not in extended position. Example in yoke he wanted to move it with hips and knees flexed better in time with stiff knees moving thru hips. When watching him pick the stone or throw the bag he consistently over flexed his hips or didn’t extend all the way in a throw at all joints. He will get better and what a specimen
Hes a known asshole. I actually saw him at a grocery store in Toronto last month. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
I learned a lot here! Thanks Mitch! I wouldn't mind more videos like this on how to master the events. Really fucking cool to see both of you working together. Try doing a squat or bench or deadlift session together!!

The knowledge Mitch has to expertly analyze events and just prescribe different methods is just insane. No wonder dude is winning everything.
