I've just done this whole session. 80 balls in about 90-100 minutes. Usually takes me half hour, 40 mins max. What a difference. Less duffs and slices. More cleaner strikes and felt like I achieved something. I'll be using it going forward for sure
This is absolutely fantastic!! With all the money that I’ve spent on lessons no one has ever given me a specific routine to work on while at the range… Brilliant job Pete!!
This is a level up from just "start with the PW and work your way up to the Driver" usual routine that most golfers use for "practice". Many thanks, Pete. Stay warm!!!
This is probably one of your best ever vlogs. SO many people, and I am one of them, just use the range like a shooting range. Basically practising their bad swing rather than working on improving it. Cheers!
I got to watch ol TW warm up at the range - he hit a ball with a 9i to a random spot on the side of a hill, then proceeded to pepper balls within a 10 foot diameter of the original ball. Probably hit 40 balls, each had a different flight; high fade, low draw, low slice, high straight. It was unbelievable.
Great Info Peter, I always take 2 hrs or more but don't have the targets. I just hit and see where the ball lands and then go through my routine for each shot and take a break after every twelve shots. This shows me the right way to practice and I thank you for that. Now if the bloody snow would melt here in Quebec Canada we could start practicing lol
Pete, I am currently having lessons and everything you have said is what my Pro Coach is trying to ram into me and guess what. It works!! Brilliant vlog Pete.
Probably one of the most useful golf tip videos ever Pete, such a great eye opener, I’m gonna be honest that I just go and hit golf balls as I please on the range but this has put it into a whole new perspective and will seriously help my game. Thanks!
Great video Mr. Finch! The tip on raising your left heel to gain width is something I started do last year. I find it also helps to initiate my downswing to make sure I'm getting through the ball.
Thank you so much sir Finch!!! Before i’ve seen this video i had a huge problem to make more in and out swing . Now with Jason Day’s drill i’m working to be more costante on this movement.
Yes Pete! What a video, I used to be one of those players ‘firing balls down the range like I was unloading a machine gun’ until recently, working on a drill that helps me use my hips more, started taking more practice swings and helped create a new feeling!... but these practices drills will definitely come in useful, thanks!
This is great! Driving range has always been my weakness as I’m a no purpose rapid fire guy. Can’t wait to get out and use this exact routine and see the difference! Great video as always!
Love this Pete! Thanks for the direction, always warmed up to start with my sand wedge but never really went in focused like that. Will do this for sure!
The games / challenges on Toptracer are quite good, gets you using a variety of clubs and having something to aim for. For example... closest to the pin on a par 3, longest drive, or pitching accuracy. Or a virtual 18 hole course (without the putting) Their phone app is quite good... when you use the Toptracer practice mode, it’ll link to your phone app and save your average distance or gaps for each club. It’s certainly gave more purpose to my driving range sessions.
Wow! Thanks Peter this is one of the best (if not the best👍🏻) practice instructional vids ever! For sure it will add focus to my sessions and will definitely improve my golf - Amazing 🏌🏻♂️⛳️👍🏻
Thanks for this Pete. So often I go to the range with best intentions but just end up firing them out there. Will defo get to the range this week and go through the routine thanks mate
Great video Pete👍I will give this a go, just bought a Garmin G80 so been taking this to the range for target practice and using it for distances with all my clubs you can play virtual rounds to👍🏌️♂️🌪🌧need some dry weather to get out and play now👍😊🌞
Love it! I've always started my range sessions with pitching, but usually with my 54* wedge. My problem is I go to the course planning on just going to the range, but end up playing 9 instead 🙈🙈 once my new home is built, I'll have a GC quad set up in a room so I can at least practice far more often and with distances
I wish you'd posted this vid this morning before I went to the range!!! Fantastic video Pete, one of your best and thank you so much, I now have something to work towards on the range this weekend
I really enjoyed this, Peter. So much great information. Unfortunately, in my area there are no practice centers like this one. How I wish there were! So, this question is more about fashion than the swing: how do you stay warm when playing in cold weather? You made a comment about how cold it was during filming. When you are playing a round in cold weather, what types of base layers do you use? I find it extremely difficult to swing a club if I have to put on too much clothing. Any suggestions? Maybe a video about this before spring?
Great video Pete. Really informative with brilliant suggestions. Saved and shared ready for the next practice session 👏👏👏 Just need it to get a lot warmer now 🙈
Andy Carter says he likes to keep his ball positions to just 3 positions, center for 7-LW, forward for 5, 6, hybrids and woods, and off the front heal for the big stick
Share your pain! I found hitting balls too rapidly makes my swing worse. Recently had session with a mate on Toptracer taking alternate shots on the games and was far more realistic practice, and also a good pace of practice.
this is exactly what i have been looking for. i have tried to develop more structure to my practice sessions. being from Canada we cant practice outside in the winter. how would you adapt this to simulator practice.? Thanks
The towel technique has worked well for my out-to-in slice, -3 to - 4 on Trackman! Are there any other techniques you’d recommend to help keep my downswing ‘tucked in’?
Excellent video. Probably the second biggest mistake of driving range practice. Endless hitting with zero purpose. In my opinion the biggest mistake is grabbing the driver and hitting a hundred balls with it and nothing else. You hear those guys on the course or in the 19th hole complaining about how great they hit their driver on the range but couldn't hit it on the course much less anything else. Practice with a purpose excellent advice.
For sure going to start working like this every day now! Just one question. You said something about writing down "score" when using the pw with different ball positions. What is the score? :)
What a great video this is pete, I think I am 100% one of these block just smash loads of balls practisers, so will definitely try it. Something I’ve always wondered, the photos on your back wall in your office, what are they of? Would love too see some pictures of them? And maybe some of the story’s? Did someone say video?
Pick 4 clubs (driver, long, mid, short) and go through them in order and hit each (ONE TIME ONLY) like real play. Each swing to a different target and distance, important. Each time you swing and have to get another club it forces you to also practice a pre-shot routine EVERY SINGLE TIME. This emulates closest to practicing GOLF rather than rapid firing which just practices SWINGING. Practice like you play, play like you practiced.
great video peter! Its good to see that someone is making relevant golf videos.. Your mate Rick has lost his way and just posts gimmicky crap these days
I do more than 200 balls per day in an about an hour. I hit every ball with purpose. I just do it no-huddle (American Football reference) haha. But for real. I also record every session and analyze it right after and later on in the day again. It keeps everything I do fresh. I would hit 500-600 balls per day if I could and had the time...I've been playing for about 8 months to give an idea of why I'm trying to hit so much now
Man everytime I watch these range videos I’m so jealous.. there’s no range where I live. I have to go to my course up on a hill and pick up all my balls I hit lol.
It's a brilliant range, you do pay a premium for balls and top tracer is around £8 an hour though. If you practice like Pete's saying here though, the value of a facility like this is priceless.
I've just done this whole session. 80 balls in about 90-100 minutes. Usually takes me half hour, 40 mins max. What a difference. Less duffs and slices. More cleaner strikes and felt like I achieved something. I'll be using it going forward for sure

Still can’t believe this had only 90k views. It’s such a shame for all the detail and work you did for this video.

I feel like I’m going to have to watch this weekly because there is so many good things. Going to give this a try this afternoon.
Excellent video Peter! Much appreciated. Your instructional videos are my favourite, you're such a natural teacher.

I love these types of practice videos. I get board on the range and need ideas for fun ways to practice. Thank you Pete.
Looking at this in 2023, very easy to see how much your channel and videos have improved! 👏⛳
This is great! Driving range has always been my weakness as I’m a no purpose rapid fire guy. Can’t wait to get out and use this exact routine and see the difference! Great video as always!

Excellent vid with drills, I did this yesterday was extremely beneficial the best practice/range session I’ve had. Thanks
I’m brand new to golf & this video is really helpful, thank you!
Peter - you've taken things to the next level again - superb video! Thanks
Wow! Thanks Peter this is one of the best (if not the best👍🏻) practice instructional vids ever! For sure it will add focus to my sessions and will definitely improve my golf - Amazing 🏌🏻♂️⛳️👍🏻
Peter Finch Golf This was great and informative lessons 👍 I will certainly use these tips to make my swing better than before.
This helps a lot, having a game plan is so much better than whacking balls down the range
Amazing video! So looking forward to trying this and giving the range sessions some purpose! Thanks Pete 👍👍
Liked and bookmarked! This is amazing. Sending it to all my groups!
Great vid as always! I can't wait to try this regimen at the range tomorrow!! I need more focused practice, so this will be perfect
Thanks for this Pete. So often I go to the range with best intentions but just end up firing them out there. Will defo get to the range this week and go through the routine thanks mate

Absolutely love this video Pete. Very informative and I love this sort of video. Keep the great work up man
Thank you for the thorough range drill !!!!!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙌🏼🙌🏼🏆🏆
Simply outstanding video. Great editing and commentary as well. Just a fantastic job. I was debating going to the range today and this got me pumped.
This is perfect for me. Effective practice is my aim for 2020, thanks for all the tips!
Epic Pete, going to give this routine a real go over the next few weeks and hopefully see some improvement 💪
True class Peter, enjoyed thoroughly.
Love it! I've always started my range sessions with pitching, but usually with my 54* wedge. Enjoyed that. I struggle to not just thwack it so rarely practice. This is going to change this year.
Useful and impressive video lessons as always. The dead center strike mark on your wedge's face is very much impressive too.☺
I wish you'd posted this vid this morning before I went to the range!!!
Fantastic video Pete, one of your best and thank you so much, I now have something to work towards on the range this weekend
The video I've been waiting for!! Great work Peter!!
Cheers Pete. Heading to the range tomorrow with a plan now 😎👍 all the best mate
Great video, really trying to nail a warm up and also working on a pre shot routine .
Hello Kington Golf course at the start... on a lovely summer's day it's a delight with breathtaking views from 400M up!
Lukazure yes indeed!
This was huge Peter thank you
Your videos are always so good! Thanks for your passion :)

Loved it -definitely the way forward!
Taking this to the range tomorrow ⛳️🏌🏻♂️ Good stuff, Pete 👍🏻
Such a good video can’t wait for the driving range now
Thanks will give this a go just starting to learn, only been range 4 times this will help.
Can only account for 88 balls though watched vid twice 😁
great video, thank Pete. 1:43 - take cover! anyone else got under the ball with driver and ricocheted it off the range roof?
Love this video, definitely saved and will be using, was at the range yesterday and was nothing like this, will now be changing my sessions up
Coaching intensive video...Well done. Thank you.
Incredible video!!! Something I definitely needed! Will be trying all of this tomorrow at the range. Cheers Pete!
Todd Hunt thanks Todd
Andy Carter says he likes to keep his ball positions to just 3 positions, center for 7-LW, forward for 5, 6, hybrids and woods, and off the front heal for the big stick
I always have a plan for my practice session, and always on the lookout for a good one. Hoping this is one such.
Good information Peter. Nice to see Fryer not throwing clubs. We can pretend to be Tiger, Day, Stenson and Hogan as well.
Superb video this mate, look forward to getting down to Trafford and putting it to use!
love the vid! keep up the great work Peter!
Super helpful video. Thank you for making!
Great tips, I end up getting disheartened towards the end of a range session hopefully this will help me stay focused
It’s hard to focus for a full session but worth it if you can
Share your pain! I found hitting balls too rapidly makes my swing worse. Recently had session with a mate on Toptracer taking alternate shots on the games and was far more realistic practice, and also a good pace of practice.
Thank you for this. Feel like I'm just trying to get some sort of feel on the range. This is great...now just have to block out 2 hours lol
Great drills pete 🤩
Excellent Vid. Gives focus.
Great video. Super useful! Thanks.
this is exactly what i have been looking for. i have tried to develop more structure to my practice sessions. being from Canada we cant practice outside in the winter. how would you adapt this to simulator practice.? Thanks
Great video, enjoyed this one 👍
The towel technique has worked well for my out-to-in slice, -3 to - 4 on Trackman! Are there any other techniques you’d recommend to help keep my downswing ‘tucked in’?
“Some treat it like an artillery range”
I laughed too hard at this
Brilliant advice. Thanks.
Nothing willy nilly...I felt this to my core
Yes -Lifting the heel and splaying the rear foot helps promote a better shoulder / hip turn for us older folks :-||
great vid Pete love your content
Great info Peter, nice one 👍

Great vid Peter. Will try and remember that in my gaptesting session tomorrow, in a warm indoor center.😉
Lars Stehr 😂 my lessons were all inside today
Made me think about my buckets I hit.
I will use some of these tips... #stopwhackingit
Any tips for practicing on a mat vs. grass? My range session on a mat have very different results than my actual rounds. Love the channel, keep it up!
Advice: don’t use the mats
Try to avoid at all costs it will ruin your game
Great tips Pete 🏌️⛳👍⛳
For sure going to start working like this every day now! Just one question. You said something about writing down "score" when using the pw with different ball positions. What is the score? :)
Ben Hogan's book is the best!
"I think Jason day is one of the most beautiful pros", is what I heard you say. Had to play it back
What a great video this is pete, I think I am 100% one of these block just smash loads of balls practisers, so will definitely try it. Something I’ve always wondered, the photos on your back wall in your office, what are they of? Would love too see some pictures of them? And maybe some of the story’s? Did someone say video?
That meal deal offer is tempting!! 🤣😋

Man everytime I watch these range videos I’m so jealous.. there’s no range where I live. I have to go to my course up on a hill and pick up all my balls I hit lol.
Concerted practice will directly translate on the golf course.
I wish i had a driving range this nice near me.
It's a brilliant range, you do pay a premium for balls and top tracer is around £8 an hour though. If you practice like Pete's saying here though, the value of a facility like this is priceless.
That’s not that much of a premium. My course has a cheap range that costs $8 for a large bucket that lasts a half hour.
Thumbed Up. Thank you.
Brilliant video this. I definitely use the driving range like an artillery range 🤣
We all do at some point 😂
