- Be a fly on the wall during a warm-up session with fifteen-time major champion Tiger Woods and his practice partner and longtime friend Rob McNamara. Listen in on their discussions, learn about Tiger’s swing, and watch him call the shots-high, low, draw, fade. An amazing display of skill from golf’s greatest shotmaker. Filmed in late 2019.

Please provide the clubs he is hitting next time...ie, PW, 8I, 3W
Thanks
8:58 he hits a low bullet, followed by a high ball. Both carries are within 2 yards, with a 4 iron. Absolutely sick stuff, guy's a machine.
Yeh it's so mesmerizing to watch, the dude is so in tune with his shots
Used to be :(
except now he’s like the 58th best machine out there
Tiger was at HIS best in early 2000s, but I am convinced that THIS is his best swing. Before his car accident everything looked perfect, so consistent, not reliant on his superior athleticism…it’s a swing that you can teach others, unlike his swing in his prime…love this!!!
The accident was such a shame. He for sure had a few more wins with this swing.
The consistency in his strike, ball flight, distances, and shot shapes are what makes him the best iron player of all time. The guy is just a total machine.
you heard of Scottie Scheffler?
@@K4rN1v00LScottie is amazing in that he is managing to play at tigers ball striking level for a year or two now .. get back to us in 15
Tiger woods is what happens when you have ball striking like Scottie Scheffler but you are the greatest putter to ever live when the pressure is on. Tiger was great tee to green but his putting was on another level. That is how you make 142 cuts in a row.
all of this is true
@@K4rN1v00Lmust be new to golf. Tiger did Scottie numbers for almost 20 years
I think it’s funny to watch the comments hating on Rob. The guy has been well known as Tigers friend and practice partner for his whole career. If Tiger didn’t like the guy, he wouldn’t be there. I don’t see TW hanging out with random TH-cam commenters. Sounds like there’s something beyond “good on camera” that TW cares about in longterm friends.
Yeah for sure the dudes been a loyal lifelong friend of his. We are all lucky if we end up with one.
@@lagwagon501 Yep think of all the offers to sell "tell all books" and such. He's obviously said no to them all. He's just a dude that Tiger likes playing golf with. That's what the friendship started as and that's what it still is. Solid guy right there, who cares if he's a little awkward on camera.
His forced laugh is cringey
came here to see if anyone commented on the commentary... good to know they're buds!!
might just be the fact that he knows how many people are going to see this footage@@MoneyIsntRealGeorge
I might watch this video daily, the consistency with his ball striking and the effortless execution when he talks about a shot. Hitting cuts and High draws with the 4 iron. Then flights the 4 iron and he said “that’s easy if you want to impress me hit a high one off that lie” he proceeded to do it while talking…”how’s that” 🤯
On command.
And Rob knew it was coming too and called it lol
Love how all business Tiger is. Dude is like "it amazes me how much loft and shape you can get out of your 3 Wood compared to your Driver" and Tiger without hesitation goes "yeah, it's got more loft.." lmao
I've seen Tiger warm up a few times in tournaments over the years, even when he was junior playing at the Byron Nelson. It's hard to describe just how good his ball striking is on the range, the sound, the flight, the rhythm, the mechanics, the balance, and the fact that he does it with those thin little blades. Video just doesn't do it justice, but it's still great to watch.
I was listening to the sound coming off Tiger's club and Rob's club , What a difference
yep, no one ever hit it like Tiger.
Watching this drom rhe UK in winter I am so jealous of that grass range.
the sound of solid impact pleased my ear
Post Back Fusion Tiger 18-20 had really found something with his tempo and swing. I think we could really be looking at a 16 Time Major champion had it not been for the accident by now
Yeah it's unfortunate. Pushing 50 years old, it's unlikely he will ever get it back.
@@ronshd7769 its nothing to do with 50 his spine is basically a metal rod at this point
He was only getting better too 😢
Love the way he stays in posture throughout his swing. Effortless
Amazing Athlete, I mean what more can be said about Tigers inner person, to get back to where he's comfortable again, inspiration can be lost as fast as its obtained, but motivation is hardwired , and know one on this planet has more motivation then Tiger Woods, period! Ty Golf digest loved it!
When he pulled out the 5 wood with the draw, amazing.
Everyone! I can’t stress this enough. Tiger shows so well in this video how he manipulates ball flight with set up. When he blasts his first drive right he says “I set up too far left.”
How beautiful is that mock neck! What a colour! Was this ever released?!
It says in the description filmed in late 2019 for everyone thinking this is a new video
Observe his right ankle then I know it's filmed before the car accident.
I could literally watch this all day and not get tired.
I feel like this video is tiger warming up and a 20 handicap trying to not sound dumb talking to him.
I could watch this all day.
Every swing...poetry in motion 😍
I wish they had the tracer and numbers on the other guy's shots, just to show what regular folk's expectations should be when standing next to the 🐐
Huge Tiger fan, but Jack is the goat. Tiger would have been for sure if he didn't get all those injuries
@@mswi2650 brah "jack is goat" isn't a thing. let it go
I like that he said the draw you have to hit it with a slightly open face, a lot of people say the face has to be closed.
The face can point any direction. As long as your path goes more to the right than the face is pointing. (Assuming you’re right handed) maybe look at “the d plane”. I think you’ll find it helpful in your shot shaping journey
Cheers
that was unreal thanks!
Can you edit out Robs awkward laughs and repost?
Amen. I went looking for this comment.
Everything pros can do to alter their shots, it's really impressive. You must have a real lock on your baseline, stock setup and shot. Like changing face closed or open for draw or fade, you gotta know where square is to do that. And be able to hit draws with the open face, then go back to square for a stock shot. Crazy good feel. And Tiger has always been a tremendous feel player
1:48 Tiger cleans the dirt off his clubs then uses the towel to wipe his face 😂
This must have been before the car accident. He looks so much slimmer and smooth through the ball.
Imagine practicing enough to wear out the grooves…😮😮 Best keep my day job and appreciate Tigers greatness!
The nervous laugh after every shot or dialogue uttered got on my nerves
my god that swing...its just....perfection
Rob is a genius. If you know you know
So grateful for Tiger Woods 🥹♥️
Can watch this video for many many times
I think Tiger Likes this guy cause he is honest and he's not phony He really understands Tiger and just communicates differently I like this guy.
I can hear the heat in this video.
Undoubtedly the GOAT PGA Tour golfer 🏌️♂️. There will never be another one like Tiger PERIOD!!
Such a perfect video!
This was 2019 & before TW's car ax. Looked like Rob & Tiger were warming up before a round but in spite of Rob's lack of focus, Tiger never looks up at Rob's poor shots or responds to his comments UNLESS it related positively to Tiger's swing & shot shape. Tiger is 100% committed, even on a casual round.
I thought Undercover Lessons would be Tiger dressed up giving undercover lessons/advice at a local range. That's a free one Golf Digest.
The forced laughs and complementing Tiger's shots are so annoying
A guy once played with my group of three and asked the most awkward questions, made the most awkward comments and some horribly premature and bad compliments. So weird. I don't understand how these guys grew up. Maybe in not-so-honest and good homes is all I can think.
You Definitely better suck up to tiger if you want to be friends with him. I wouldn’t.
@@lkae4some people are just socially awkward or, well, have other things wrong with them (autism for starters).
Amen.
Tiger was probably a little annoyed by the guy too. He didn't do much laughing!!
Wow very interesting! I've never seen anything like this before. Cool to see and hear the interaction between TW and Rob
Crazy ti hear the difference between the two players and the sound it makes off the xkub
Unreal as usual. GOAT. I'd bet there are guys that would pay $1 million to hit balls with Tiger on the range for 20 minutes.
i doubt that
There will only ever be 1 GOAT
Do you swing with the same speed on your driver and 3 wood. Is there much change?
This was filmed almost 5 years ago
i was wondering why it was looking so much like 2019 scripting lol
Yes. Before the car accident. Tiger appears lean in this video. Nowadays he’s bulky up top. It’s a miracle he’s still walking around.
And?
@@n41698m and he doesn't walk with a limp and his face isn't as puffy
"thanks for making me look bad" lol
Next time, could you guys have Tiger divulge how fast he was swinging his driver back in 2000? That 43.5" TTDG X100 steel shafted Titleist 975D... It would be awesome to hear him talk about how fast he was back then compared to today, and maybe how far he would have hit the ball back then if he had today's equipment?
Thanks!
I can't believe he hit a shank on the 18th hole yesterday....after a relatively solid day. lol that's golf!
I wish someone could go back in time and just scream, TIGER!!! please don't drive today
Tiger could hit any iron in the bag to any distance and would use that to his advantage to mess with his opponents. It was savage!
2019 Tiger was so pure
it's so clear how nice a great player's tempo is when it's shown right next to an amateur.
Tiger has a pretty nice swing! If he focuses and practices a little more, he may have a chance to go pro.
Wow that was awesome 😎
I really believe we were about to get another magical Tiger run before the accident, makes me so sad.
I feel like I'm 10x better now just watching how its supposed to be done.
This is the most obnoxious thing ever. No human should have the right to shape shots at will with a bladed 4 iron. The fact that he can call high, low, draw, and fade on any given shot is just incredible. Only Tiger!
Tiger is the greatest iron player of all time but still simply shaping shots on command & hitting them flush any good player can do, especially off perfect fairway lies. That’s kinda the beginning of being good and scoring well. Good ams & pros both can basically all do that.
Ball speed is juiced for these numbers
Oh this is gonna be good… 🔥🔥
Cathartic.
You really start to see how smooth Tigers swing is when put side by side against a rando
Tigers strikes definitely sound way different than the other dude lol
*How old is this 2 or 3 years ago???*
2019 he mentioned just having won his 82nd
Amazing how much he has aged in 5 years since this was filmed. He was so close to being back to his early 2000 form
and then the car crash did him in for good.
The sound that comes off the face of the irons is like an air compressor. Like a muffled explosion.
Giggles McGoo over here 🤣
Tiger is taking divots, he must not have been flushing it.😆
Is Tiger using an M4 driver?
How old is this video? He has SIM clubs in the bag lol
Why is no one talking about the camera not being level?
This is pre accident that wrecked his leg. It’s really too bad that happened. He was ready to go nuts for another 5 years
Best way to practice, is like Ben Hogan who invented practicing. Start with SW and hit each club up to driver and ech target, is where the last ball landed!
can someone explain why he opens the face with the draw? and closes it with the fade? thats not the normal way to do that all.
if you swing it out more than the slightly open angle of the blade at impact, it works.
So badass
I wish this video was 10 hours long
Take a shot every time vainilla boy chuckles nervously…
Racist jerk.
I died 🫨
@@phreak761 😂
So you’re trying to promote alcohol poisoning?
@@prorobo Yes, try it.
Did that guy actually say "no flippy" to Tiger?
🐐🐯🐅
This isn't recent is it?
sick
Dudes is laughing like tiger is a stand up comedian
I'm still convinced if tiger didn't get in that car crash, he was about to go on a mini run of wins. Dude just needs a permanent driver
How old is this video guys?? Geeesh
somehow i looked up and the video was over
18:01 what you mean by that Tiger? 😂💀
People hating SDR like this was any better 😂
Love watching Tiger hit balls! Hey Camera Man, Widen the View.
“Amateur Hours”
Wish the other guy was not in the video 😕 😒. Just Tiger and silence.
Open face for a draw and closed face for a fade. That's not how it works for me, but that's probably why I'm not a pro...
Took a minute to realize this was an old video based on the fact Tiger isn’t wearing the “leg sleeve.”
Or that he weighs 20 pounds less
Last day you’ll see him with the Nike swoosh
Did this just come out now because Tiger dismissed the then-new TaylorMade product?
Rob doesnt stop giggling like a school girl
When women say we need therapy...this is where we go😊
Hey, look at that golf ball Tiger, tahahah-huhuhuh-uhuhuh.
This is my 3 wood right? tahahah-huhuhuh-uhuhuh.
Guess what? Nvm. tahahah-huhuhuh-uhuhuh tahahah-huhuhuh-uhuhuh tahahah-huhuhuh-uhuhuh.

This took place in 2020 pre pandemic
THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY WAY WAY WAY BEFORE HIS CAR ACCIDENT
