WBAC are so dishonest. They scammed my elderly mother by knocking off a grand from box fresh car with 2k miles. Not a typo. They said market for small auto hatches had collapsed since they quoted
You understand that WBAC don’t control the market prices - what a dumb comment. They simply follow the market trends of CAP, HPI etc. Do some basic research before commenting.

This was during the covid peak when prices were rising monthly and continued to rise after my mother sold her car. They were using it as a false excuse to justify chipping the price. Try reading and understanding before commenting.
I've got an ST diesel for a daily. Bought it for a grand with 104,000 miles on it, put a set of injectors in it as one of them was leaky, and have done another 80,000 since! It's never, and I mean never let me down. All it's had in those 80,000 miles is brake discs/pads, one rear caliper/set of handbrake cables (handbrake was poor efficiency on an MOT), a set of wheel bearings, and oil & filters. For 80k worth of motoring I'm more than happy with that. The aircon needs charging, but everything electronic still works, including the 6-CD changer in the boot and the archaic Denso SatNav/touchscreen.
I once bought a Mondeo ST diesel estate. Worse car i ever bought . After a week the door handle came off in my hand 😂 after a month it started when it wanted too 😂. Ended selling for a huge loss and cutting my losses 😢
A Motor Trader once told me "Rough Cars & Rough People Go Together". As true now as it was then, so I only buy old cars from old people. Often they have bumps & scrapes but have been gently driven and well maintained.
Can't beat a mondeo mine is 2011, 190,000 miles, 163 2ltr diesel, I was 2nd owner bought in 2013 runs like a dream ..... if Ford had a "new" in dealerships I would buy tomorrow.
That's the MK4 I've got the same but powershift estate titanium-X. It's a Peugeot engine in them PSA. The way it drives is amazing. Better than any new car you get now. I drove a friend's bmw 530d I think the mondeo is way nicer

The mot failure on the Cat N BMW, the brakes only failed on hand brake, which could be a matter of adjustment. The brake wobble could be something newer. Possibly from over tightening the handbrake causing overheat and warping the disk on one side 😅
I don’t agree with saying no straight away to a car without seeing it because of a Cat N. Some Cat Ns could be easy repairs as we all now and you can get the cars cheaper

Rule number one, unless you know the person who's sellng, i.e. a good friends, known them for a while, never meet them anywhere else other than the address on the logbook. Any seller that insists on meeting anywhere else, should ring alarm bells, and would be a complete no-no for me.

I don't think Jock is going to win salesman of the year award... One thing that puzzles me is the WBAC charade of looking around the Ford. They are part of BCA and anything decent goes off to the auction and any old bangers are collected for scrap less their commission.
My sons ST 56 reg at 115000 had exactly the same issue , sticking steering wheel very hard to turn left or right as if it didn’t have PS , it was the power steering pump that failed but once replaced it was like new again inc’ power steering fluid change , we could have sent it back to the seller but fixed it ourselves rather than a 150mile round trip then again so 300mile in total so £120 for new pump , belt & fluid , done it in a couple of hrs for what it was worth , I know …….

also selling a car at 3 week MOT tells me, that it didn't pass the inspection and its not worth fixing, so they trying to get a quick buck off it.
Why not sell it as spares and repairs for half the price, like most traders would.

Think about it, if you could make a profit doing that, the sellers would all be selling to We Buy Any Car, not trying to get more money from the punters on FB. Also, you can bet that if We Buy Any Car bought the car for $240 they'd be reselling it for a grand or so after doing a bit of work on it.
