- Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria (Retd.) is the former Chief of Air Staff and is a decorated officer with a career spanning over four decades. He also served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC) at Southern Air Command. He is the man who spearheaded the Rafale negotiations during his tenure as vice chief of the Air Staff. In his four-decade career, Bhadauria has the distinction of logging more than 4,250 flight hours across 26 different types of fighter jets and transport aircraft. In this edition of the ANI Podcast with Smita Prakash, he shares insights on India's Balakot strike against Pakistan following the Pulwama attack. He applauds the political will that led to action against terrorists. He talks about the importance of the Rafale's induction into the Indian Air Force and terms it a game-changer for the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces and also talks about expediting indigenous aircraft production. Bhadauria also shares details on the escalation in the Indo-China border post Galwan clash and how the Indian Air Force's deployment acted as a deterrent to China's intentions.

on February 27. 2019, Shooting down of Mi-17 was a big mistake, admitted IAF chief.All six of our Indian Air force personnel onboard in Mi'17 and one civilian on the ground were killed in the crash on 27th February 2019. RIP .😭.!. u r a very honest Air chief Bhadauria.👍👏

We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful person as Air Chief Marshal of Indian Airforce.During his tenure modernization of Armed Forces in full swing. CDS Gen.Vipin Rawat supported in getting several things for Airforce. Under the dynamic leadership of Prime minister Narendra Modi he was well protected during Rafael deal from our short sighted political parties.
Balakot & Galwan were both very successful operations & the Govt took bold decisions to allow the Army to respond with whatever action needed.

In its Operation Swift Retort, the PAF bravely enters in Indian air space in broad day light, locked their targets but not deliberately hit them and use their payload near to their targets. PAF shows complete picture/videos of their attack, which seen world wide. Prominent Defence Expert and Editirbof magazine Air Force Monthly Alan Waren tell this story very clearly. There is a seniority among the services, and it was deliberately changed in the Indian services, compared to the practices of the British services.
For the UK, the senior service is the Navy, and there is no doubt about that.
For India, the Indian Navy started from the Royal Indian Navy, and that itself was quite behind the British Indian Army, counting only from 1858. The Indian Army - the British Indian Army - with its commander-in-chief, one of whom actually was a factor in destroying one of the most powerful viceroys, when the two of them clashed - was the senior service, followed by the Indian Navy; the Indian Air Force, being the most recent, is the juniormost service (as it is in the UK).
That apart, the seniority from their batch numbers in the NDA counts, when all three are of the same rank, and if not, the rank counts.
