  • Lt. Gen KJS Dhillon (Retd), popularly known as 'Tiny Dhillon', is a decorated officer with a career spanning over 39 years. He has served as Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency and Deputy Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff (Intelligence). He earned widespread appreciation for initiating unconventional, people-friendly operations during his tenure as head of XV Corps in Kashmir. He has authored ‘Kitne Ghazi aaye kitne Ghazi gaye’ in which he recounts tales of his military journey and his experiences in Kashmir during the toughest era of the region during the militancy period of 90s till abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. In this edition of ANI podcast with Smita Prakash Lt. Gen KJS Dhillon (Retd) talks about Pakistan’s economic turmoil, Imran Khan’s arrest and how the ISI and Pakistan’s military continue to rule the roost in the rogue nation. He also talks about his active involvement in the abrogation of Article 370 and his meeting with home minister Amit Shah. Dhillon also provides us with excerpts from his book ‘Kitne Ghazi aaye kitne Ghazi Gaye’ and mentions the importance of Army wives and their untold stories.

And see how humble he is and yes ... count how many times he addressed Smita ma'am ... " ma'am " in this entire conversation..

Do they really believe that Khalistan can survive landlocked between Bharat and Pakistan? It hurts me deep when Sikhs, who are a part of our body called Bharat speaks against the state and desecrates our National Flag, vandalizes our temples abroad in western countries.

Guys Andaman and Nicobar Islands is equipped with all the three services of Armed Forces. While there’s a commander in chief for the Andaman and Nicobar Command, when the LG also belongs to that army regime, it feels fit that way. Currently the incumbent LG Admiral DK Joshi was a Aide de Camp and former admiral in the Indian Navy. But he largely remains confined in Raj Niwas and never holds a public meet. Before him we had Lt. Gen AK Singh who was by far one of the best LGs Andamans had in decades. What point I’m trying to make here is that, Army Generals usually tend to be more “people person” rather than a retired navy admiral.

One of the finest interviews , Thanks yet again to Smita Prakash, who provides space for the guest to share their experiences, views and insights. I ordered his book on line before I finished watching the entire interview, is a proof of the impact , the podcast had on me. Lt. col,'s wife reaction when she came to know he was alive and news of his death as reported, was wrong, is true hallmark of an officer's wife attitude. How is he adjusting to the civilian life was a super finish and his answer is a wake up call to all those who mismanage their time at cost of others valuable time. Well done, yet again, Smita Prakash for this enjoyable education.

Personally i always felt that this issue will never settle. I am very thankful to you Smita madam for bringing out this valuable podcast which helps us understand the complexity of the issue and how well it was addressed. Lots of Respect to Lt Gen KJS Dhillon, our Political Leaders and all other involved in Abrogation of Article 370. We are driven to strive for our nation. Jai Hind.

Dear Sardar! You are typical of the very disciplined military officer. Very measured in your views, always recognize the combined strength of diplomacy, political leadership, political parties (with all their faults) and a well trained and disciplined armed forces. The Indian military while conceding political leadership the decision to go to war,is always very conscious of its pride and freedom to execute wars.
This arrangement gives the army to focus in its military needs, resources and training from tip to bottom, makes the leave the politicians to make the decisions to go to war and live with the consequences of political, economic and social consequences of going to war.

What is so remarkable here is the fact that a top Indian military commander is talking like a top bureaucrat. That tells me that the years spent by the generals in the staff college Wellington are very well spent. I wonder if Asif Muneer of the Pakistani army will come even close to the level of erudition Gen. Dhillon has, but then he will never be allowed inside the staff college, to begin with. Big salute to you sir Lt. Gen KJS Dhillon.
