Very atmospheric spot, visited many times, highly recommended. Probably the most data-rich location in the known galaxy, is what I hear. Gj Cmdr. o7 PS: Thought occurs 'twould be a simple matter for any shadowy cabal to fake such a site, but I'll accept it for the moment.

Makes sense we haven't seen any motherships. After mycoid, they would be unlikely to risk them in frontline combat unless decisive victory was possible. We wouldn't send aircraft carriers forward where anti ship missiles could instantly take them out - they're too valuable of targets.
I think they are immune to the Mycoid virus now. Although they may be afraid to lose these assets if for instance the humans cook up some new bio-weapon. They could be using the motherships as force projection similar to what you are saying with the carriers, only the strike aircraft being Interceptors.
@@MATTIUS This is my thinking as well. They're immune to the old tricks but holding their most valuable assets in reserve for a massive overwhelming assault to reduce their exposure to risk, having learned their lessons about humanity from mycoid.
And now, three years on form this video and two from this comment, the Thargoid Motherships are returning, at the heart of the Maelstroms

If the thargoids existence was such a well guarded secret at this time then how does cmdr Jameson, as capable as he may be, have such knowledge and experience, not to mention sucess in combat, against thargoids?

I'm going back and watching all your videos. Question .... I think it falls in with this video. I just discovered the faction "Aegis Core" by accident.. Yeah its been known of their intent for a long time. But I've been assisting them in Sol, Socho and Arietis Sector ON-T b3-4 the 3 systems with data showing their presence. What can we gain by assisting them can we really push thargoid technology forward or is that fully up to the developers.. I mean I suppose lore base technology could be discovered that changes the way things fall into place that we learn of but don't get hands on persay. I dont know your videos make this game far more then a game. Ive said before the lore is so good but hidden, you and many of the other YT creators in the community really bring it alive. thanks :)
Well it's regarded as a sandbox type game. Many of the in game groups were born from community activities and some of the best in game events such as the Salome event was played out live and decided by the player base. Since Micheal brooks left to make the incredible planet coaster for the same company the game sort of went into deep freeze with only a few changes or advancements in story. That changed this year.
Although the core of the game is decided by David Braben, Many of the side quests were written by the old time fans such as Drew Wagar and co. They dropped more than just the fleet carriers in the game recently, not confirmed but pretty much well known. There was a gaff with the procedural generation of the planets shortly after the fleet carriers dropped that people believe was a teller for some extra assets going into the game that were planet based. Basically they think there is (now) something out there.
Frontier Developments and David are true success stories for British development, they truely break the mould of what came before.

Given the maelstrom context... I don't think anyone messed with his ship. His older ship probably can't handle that pulse like our ships now.

I have never done time lapse shots in my videos yet... Interesting idea, funny you say that there has recently been canonn institute study on whether the sites are repairing themselves.
