  • Stalling issue with Rykers in extreme hot weather. This happened to me this last summer (2022) and kept happening when ever it was over 30 degrees here. We have found a solution and it should help those who are dealing with the failure.
My apologies for the crappy resolution in the intro. I used gopro 8 and it should have been better. Could have been my software as well.
Enjoy the entire 17 minutes to see how you can do this yourself.

Thank you for your info. We certainly will take notes on this issue. I have not had any issues regarding stalling with our 2019 Ryker rally. I'm the one that rides the Ryker more often.

@@heidistucki1309 I hope it never happens to your Ryker. Stalling happened to me in very dangerous places on the road.

Sadly it's a known issue that Can-Am doesn't want to acknowledge. I did a video about mine acting up. I ended up having then put a Ski-Doo pump in money during the height of the pandemic. The techs kept telling me unless they could replicate the issue that they wouldn't fix it. It took 3mos for me to convince them that the Ski-Doo pump would fit it. I'm glad you found a way to fix it yourself. Mine was under warranty so I made them fix it.

I’ve heard the same story quite a few times. I love my bike but I’m really glad we do all our own diagnoses and repairs.
      Thank you for your input!

I had fuel pump issue with mine add to change it, I stalled on Mercier bridge a major issue and was very scary ... a lot of people I know that have this issue , there is a Transport Canada report you can do ( I did ) in some case BRP is paying for the fuel pump but i am still waiting cost for the new pump was 599.00 + labor , I have a ACE 900 2021 ... this is a know issue. there is a new BRP bosh pump 2022 and it seams to be working better ( i tried a quantum pump that did not last, also the dealer was not able to take the bike for 3weeks in July .. I had to use an idependant shop and pay for the install.) By reporting this issue to Transport Canada I hope that BRP will be pro-active . I still like my ryker but a bit desapointed of BRP since they know this is an issue Alain & Yellow

I made the report as well. Friggin dangerous! You’d think they’d be concerned.
      Thanks for watching.
BRP wants to replace the entire fuel pump assembly but it is totally not necessary. Cost me about 100$ or around there can’t remember.

So do you think a 36 year old woman can do this by herself and what tools do I need...I am in Houston I have a warranty but they wanna keep my bike for months and I can't have that

    • @RideForAdventures
      @RideForAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

Absolutely you can do it. Some wrenches and the clutch tool should be pretty much all you need. It’s not hard to do. Just follow the sequence of removal and reinstall.

    THANK YOU.
    This was Very Much APPRECIATED.
But I Really Cannot understand how That bit of tape would make any difference. ( ???????? )

    • @RideForAdventures

      Your welcome.
It’s not just a bit of tape. It is insulated aluminum that reflects heat back very efficiently. Thereby allowing the fuel pump to run in a less heated environment.

Hello and thank you for the wonderful video ! I'm viewing the dissembled fuel pump and I want to know if the wires thats attached to the fuel pump unit can be removed by a screw ? And can that fuel filter unattach from the pump? I saw a fuel pump kit that sells the fuel pump and filter . I emailed them waiting for an answer about the fit . Thank you !

      Hi! Thanks and your welcome.
I’m not sure if the wires can be removed. But yes the filter is replaceable

Today is August 6 2023 and since July I have been having a similar problem. Except in my case, my 2021 Ryker Rally 900 will not even start in high outside temperatures. This is what I mean. Early in the morning, it starts just fine and can be ridden around town. Also, it restarts with no issue. However, as the temperature rises during the afternoon (I live in Arizona so lately the outside temperature is around 97 to 100 degrees) the COLD engine (the bike has been sitting still) will attempt to turn over then stall! This will repeat until the outside temperature lowers, then it starts just fine. Basically, the bike will not start in the middle of the day. Just late at night and early mornings. Could I possibly have an "abused" fuel pump and regulator like you? Please let me know!!!

The symptoms are very similar. You can’t trust it like that in hot weather and especially in traffic when it stalls.
Change your fuel pump and regulator to a high heat equivalent and wrap your tank if you want. That should fix the problem

My Brides Rally had stalled a few times on hot days but each time it started right back up. It was about 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside at the time. Hasn't happened in a month so not sure what to do about it. If it stalls again, you've given me a place to start looking. Thanks

      Your welcome.
Mine always started back up after a few minutes as well but didn’t go far. When the outside temp cooled even a little it would run perfectly. It’s quite dangerous as you could stall at any given time anywhere, and be struck by another vehicle. It really sounds like she has the same problem as me and others.
