I'm sorry I don't agree with you I have a 2023 rally and I don't have to fight it on highway it rides straight you just have to relax and let the bike be with slight inputs you can't tense up it makes it worse. It's a great ride and I was on 2 wheels for 40 years
Thanks for the great review. When it comes to off-road use, looks perfect for the forest roads that I like to travel on. And maybe even some of the easier sections of BDRs. I'm a middle-aged man that went down hard for the first time a couple months ago on my dual sport. I learned a valuable lesson that day, I'm not built to break bones at 50 lol I have a big rig to drive. This Can-Am might be my go-between. I can load it up for camping and cruise down a dirt road without too much concern, and I can hit the freeway with that 900cc engine and cruise control.
I have driven it on the highway, the single best investment was a windshield pulled all the way up for wind. With the windshield on the highway its super easy to drive stock. I want to get new swaybars to tighten the steering a little but as it' it works well. I do think the after market swaybars and linkages help though. Its very fun on dirt roads letting the back wheel slip. I ride with my teenage son often, he enjoys the ride. I have ridden motorcycles, dirt bikes etc. This thing is great when you want to enjoy a ride without worrying about laying it down, especially in wet or slightly loose gravel. My biggest complaint is the lack of a high gear. I think if they built a single gear into the rear drive shaft, where you could shift it at about 40mph to a cruise gear ratio it would save a lot of gas and make it scream less rpm's on the highway. If they did this, it would make a huge improvement.
I find that the biggest handicap that the Ryker has is the positioning of the pegs. Even as far back as they will go it is really hard to lift your butt off the seat to float over bumps. Hit a big pothole with that suspension in a stiffer setting and you'll drive your tailbone up between your shoulder blades.
The whole point of reverse trikes is to be rule-beaters (coming as close to a four wheeler as practical while being street legal. It's not a motorcycle in any functional respect but as a quad minus a wheel could be more useful and fun with a full rear bed. That wouldn't be hard to fab and would make bringing home tasty deceased wildlife convenient.
I think it's a cool concept. I'd like to see this type of vehicle off-roading. I think the rear tire needs to be wider. The tires need more side wall to to maximize off-road effectiveness and ride. On the negative for this particular trike, that nose is fugly!
Dear friends, I hope you don't think that just because this trike is called a 'Rally' it can ford rivers, puddles and slog through mud like other dual-sport bikes.
That understeer looks shambolic. Plow and plow, until the pendulum out back lazily changes its mind and then its thee saddest oversteer I've ever seen. Back and forth throughout a single turn. Sham--bolic.
Is this offroad? The surface is straight as a table. This trike is not intended for any off-road use with such a low ground clearance, long wheelbase and one drive wheel, it will get stuck in the first pit. This is a dude's toy.
The straight line stability improves as you relax and get used to it. If you have the money, it's feels like a road legal "quadbike". You still need your mx bike, and your 4x4 etcetera. We are boys, aren't we. Stay young. Excellent review.
This is rally style off-road. I don't think it's marketed as a rock crawler. Even though it looks like it as the same ground clearance as many xc sport quads
I’d rather be seen driving my girlfriends Smurf blue automatic Mini Cooper wearing a pink polo shirt…Why is Cycle World testing this? If I had to guess less than 1% of Cycle World followers actually give a 💩 about this turd. I’m also guessing 99% of us just watched to see how much more ridiculous (read stupid) Can Am could make this thing, like I did.

I had a Blast riding the Ryker, don't knock it until you've tried it!
Actually really like the looks, would love to try it 😊❤

Best Ryker video out there!!!! Thanks guys
6:03 Peterbilt sighting and comment #33. Yessss!!!
A Ryker trucker never dies!
Great review. Thank you. 💯👌🏿
As a 2024 owner im pretty satisfied. Rode 4 wheelers and snow mobiles all my life. This is the closest thing to taking a snow mobile on the road imo.

Gets more folk on the road that otherwise may stay off because of a disability, also older riders can benefit as well.
Being old is a disability too.

If this was off-road my cat is gonna be the next president off the United States
Those wheels are super pretty btw😍
You do realize that Trump has nine lives? Lol.
In what alternate universe is a dry lakebed considered off-road? That was more smooth that most of the paved roads where I live.
Because it wasn't on a road. So, off-road.
These trikes are highly adaptable, so maybe a few tweaks would've offered a more durable off road experience.

Wow mega ❤
Can Am ❤beste
FUN RIDE😂
I guess I have taken my Can Am Spyder RTL off road (based on this definition).
Put the turbo kit on their & watch how fast it be 😂💯
I don't think there's the offroad as vewing is really offroad to test coz the surface of road very wett no muddy ...
Damping not "dampening."
Cool but why wouldn't you have had an ATV to go against it as well?

Zero suspension travel😅😅, call it the "can am mall crawler"😊
Lets mud this thing
I'd be wearing out and buying a new rear tire every month!
What kind of off road test has no small jumps? Plus at least I can stand up on a quad. I kinda expected more of a test with the comparison off-road.
They just need to make them conventional two wheels motorcycles with cvt or automatic, it will be neat!
they are full automatic
@@lutan1 I said on two wheels, not three!
Take a look at Honda. They make a good lineup of dct motorcycles.

If it isn't paved for normal automobile use, it is off road. Quibbling over words and definitions don't change that.
"Off" "road" is pretty self explanatory. If you're not *on* a road, you are off-road. Topography doesn't change that.
ah... an answer to a question nobody asked
🤣
Why?
A technological tour de force of garbage and overpriced, too....
It’s a snowmobile, make it 3wd then…..
But, it's not a snowmobile. At all. It isn't even designed to be. BTW, a snowmobile doesn't have 3 wheels, thus no 3 wheel drive. Just sayin'.

You can’t afford it 😂 just say that
If you don't like it then don't buy it, problem solved!😁👍
