Wow KobraHamson, what an informative video! Clearly you know everything there is to know about jet skis. I'm so glad we have professionals like you teaching us how to properly fix things.
Dannnng! You could have ended the video at those sweet 90’s style graphics and I would have been blown away, but you continued to blow me and built yourself a versatile, functional, inexpensive trailer and now I don’t even know what to think.
I really like your videos! The dry humor mixed with informative facts and crafty editing is great. Thanks for the chuckles as I have been dreading starting on my own PWC resto.
I worked for years as a Seadoo boat rental beach bum in Sauble Beach Ontario. This generation was simple and bullet proof. Wish they remained this way. The hull design feels dated now, but I’d buy one again.
Dude your attention to detail and documentation of the process is outstanding. You're funny as hell too. I also really loved the little montage of that sick graphic job you did and the music that went with it. Chefs kiss bro.
I managed to pickup a 27yr old seado xp and a double ski trailer for $850! And it ran. Cleaned it up and did the same exact vinyl job you did expect with orange black and grey on a purple ski. Haha I probably watched the same vid. I might have to steal your garden cart idea!
I love creators like you! You do such a good job editing and your work is immaculate! So happy I found this video! Just wish this whole project was done so I could binge watch them all!
@@reed.k.h No worries! I will be patiently waiting for Full Bore to finish your cylinder heads so you can upload more! 😆 I just sent my 951 cylinder heads there a few weeks ago! I hope I can get them in time for June!

this pisses me off beyond belief that you got only 62K views and only have 2.34K subs. This is GOLD. I wish you luck that the world finds your content...
O M G !!!! HILARIOUS VIDEO ! LOVED the narration over the video and great editing... you make it all look SO EASY. I just picked up the same ski and I'm thinking mine is in much worse condition then yours was, even with the oil swimming pool in the bottom of your hull. We'll see how mine goes over the next couple few months.
Nice resto. These X4 hulls are a lot of fun, really nothing comparable you can buy new today. I used a similar cheapo trailer years ago for a stand up but I used PVC pipes for the bunks.
I knew next to nothing about jet skis before I bought this one, so it's a total coincidence that I happened to find one with an infamous hull design! PVC pipe is a good idea for the bunks... how did you support them?
@@reed.k.h I bolted them to the trailer cross bars with large fender washers. ( I had to drill an access hole in the side of the PVC to get to the bolt heads). I always strapped the ski down the frame itself. Never had any issues, towed it up to 4 hours one way with an '86 300zx. drive.google.com/file/d/1zzxylvJ_UkaCln6js_p7CzW-c21aIE5E/view?usp=sharing

I am currently in the same process with my 1997 seadoo gti 3 seater. Just got the new motor, gotta do the carb rebuilds, new lines, and finish cleaning up the hull inside and out. I will say though, yours is in like 50x rougher shape! good luck man! New subscriber here.
@@reed.k.h if you run into any issues let me know ive rebuilt a few of these however it doesnt look like youll need it im over in MA if you ever ride it down here or in NH
I was wanting to see what pliers you used specifically, I had to destroy one of these lines on my truck to get the fuel filter off and the parts guy had a very hard time finding actual replacements. He kept saying to use regular hose clamps but I confirmed they are not enough for fuel injection pressures of gasoline. Thanks for the videos, cheers!
omg, love your commentary! just picked one up the other day. got her in much better shape than yours, but at quite a bit more moola! looking forward to the rest of the parts! also, LOVE the decal design! I will definitely be doing something similar!
this is AMAZING what a turn around. did you just buff the whole ski with cutting polish or rubbing compound i mean , it came out awsome!! i’m also shocked at how clean you got the engine bay. i do not understand how you pulled that off....
Thanks, I'm stoked how it turned out also! I only used rubbing compound on the yellow storage cover. I wiped down the rest of the ski with toilet bowl cleaner. The hydrochloric acid helps dissolve the stains. For the engine bay, it was just Simple Green and a lot of scrubbing... Like, a lot.
What’s like an amazing underrated PWC to buy from like the 90’s or early 2000’s? I want to buy one used and cheap to fix but don’t know anything about PWC just cars and boats lol
I love this video. I moved to Florida a few years ago and I'm thinking about buying a jet ski to rebuild. Only problem is I don't know the first thing about them. 😂. What bike is that in the background?
I think it’s there simply for sealing redundancy, it certainly wasn’t doing anything on mine and I haven’t had any issues with leaks since removing it.
Do you have a part list break down? Just finished part 1 so hopefully it’s in the next videos or if you could add it to the description. Thanks! Great video
Pretty new to jet skiing.. I have a 2001 sea doo bombardier xp. I feel that it sits pretty low. The stern sits right with the water line and I weigh 165 lbs. I had a second person get on so the total weight was 320 lbs with a weight capacity of 565lbs and it capsized. Do you know why that would be? ( both the drain plugs were close and it was not filling up with water inside)
Bay Area Powersports and Watercraft Superstore are good sources, I also got a lot of parts on eBay. Just Google around a bit, there are a ton of sources.
