Goddamn I can't even imagine how much fun that was being so close. I miss Gilman nothing will ever replace the experiences I cultivated there. Proud to be a Gilman youth of the 90s.
"Want" is almost certainly my favourite Jawbreaker song ever...it still blows me away as much as the first time I heard it on Zorlac's 'Zero Hero' back in '91...come back to London UK again soon, guys!
This is like going in the time machine.. I went to San Francisco in the summer of 1993, saw Jawbreaker opening for Scream at the Great American Music Hall. Did not know them before. They blew me away. I saw them two more times at a small club near Mission (I cannot remember the name) and in another club with J Church. That show was interrupted by a fight in the audience (anyone else at that show?), then the police came and shut the club. I managed to go to 926 Gilman on a Sunday afternoon for a matinee with Shelter and 108. Such good memories. Thanks for posting this. Hi from Italy.
@hermanwaldorf I lived in Oakland and attended most Jawbreaker shows from 1993-1996.. The club in the Mission was called "The Chameleon " a very hot, sweaty show that I was at. Cheers from San Diego.
OH MY GOD YOU'RE MAKING MUSIC LIVE AGAIN??? YOU'VE BEEN MY FAVORITE ARTIST SINCE MY HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH / CREATIVE WRITING TEACHER BRIBED ME TO DO MY HOMEWORK BY BURNING ME YOUR CDS FROM TIME TO TIME. (that was circa 2003 or 2004) God bless you. I've introduce so many of my friends to Jawbreaker and Jets To Brazil, and I don't know you but I guess now years later I must respect you so much I must sound like I do. I'm sorry if it upsets you but especially with Jawbreaker when I show my friends the records I explain how triumphant your voice is in those songs about how you lost your voice but got it back and how it hurt..... I appreciate you so much as human being and you inspired my life so much as a musician. When I heard you belt these songs out old school like it was nothing it actually made me cry, but I was happy bc I liked the music (selfish) but also I swear to my God I was happy for you too on stage and singing like that and it has yet again later in life inspired me. Much love and God bless.
I graduated from long beach state in nineteen ninety five I can't believe I missed this. Fullerton is in our conference and very close. I was heavily into the jawbreaker and just now found out this free gig.
I remember seeing them back in the early 90's in Ireland playing in a venue to a bunch of indifferent university students. Myself & my buddies were the only people dancing to them. We weren't students, and we weren't drunk either.
I watched them live today and his voice sounds so bad. The cigarettes are ruining him and he’s had a throat surgery. Even with that the show was awesome, they played all the songs on my list such as boxcar, want, etc. wish he played chesterfield king tho.
@@holdencone7882 they closed with chesterfield in Atlanta and I can confidentiality say it was cause I was yelling for it all night from the center of the front of the crowd

Is Adam wearing a Reese Forbes tshirt? I have seen them three times and had tickets to see them on the 25th anniversary of Dear You on May 4th in Atlanta but blew it feeling depressed. So bummed. The show in Austin when they returned was the best show and crowd I’ve ever been a part of
I don't think that the bass is loud enough....... not. Frig, I am the first person to complain when the bass isn't loud enough. I want to hear it, just not feel it. But it is overpowering everything here.
@@Return2TheLiving This show was on my actual 43rd bday and I was there!. So yeah... I got to see them a few times at Gilman in the 90's. I bought Bivouac on cassette and was a fan from then.
Just a couple of legends performing in a legendary place.
Shout out to whoever was on the boards. Absolutely fantastic fidelity.
The bass is way too loud.
@@michaelr.4878 um ok bud
@@michaelr.4878uh no it’s perfect buddy
@michaelr.4878 to be honest I wish the bass was as loud on every song as it is here
@@michaelr.4878I disagree, levels were perfect all around
I rarely comment but I saw them 3 time before they broke up and three times since they have reunited. Still gives me chills.
U r lucky! I saw them once rt in the transition phase of jtb. Was an excellent show in philly, they r super live
Lucky Duck! Never saw them before the breakup but I have seen them 4 time since the reunion. CHicago twice, Austin, TX and Houston,TX.
Never saw them live but I saw Jets to Brazil live, went with my future wife then (as friend then)
I found this band on the watch dogs 2 radio about a year ago and now they're my favourite band

Busy is greatest, Want second.
Samuel Morse fine day is the best on Unfun
I remember when the album Unfun cured my 90’s teenage angst, amazing to see them still killing it!

That was such a fun show 💚🎶
Holy shit
Awesome sauce. Eeegads
Awesome crowd. Nobody holding up phones.
Chills
Blake still sounds fucking great to me. I wish they'd perform more unfun songs, but I'd imagine its probably hard on his voice

Fuckin Iconic writing:
Been staring for a hundred hours
Run down a spiral drain
Keep mouth clamped tight
And it isn't right
Three words keep running round my mind
But my tongue is hard to find
I need to let it go
Because I know
Dark secrets burn their vessel
Tearing out to grab a mouthful
Chunk of heart destroyed by quiet
Yell it out before it kills you now
Let it all out
Used to let rumors do my work
They got around real well
Now they only hurt
It's a liar's quirk
This time I gotta say it straight
I mean to do some good
I'm calling out your name
While the chance remains
I want you
So now you know where I come from
My secret's come undone
My heart revealed my cause
I'm lying naked at your feet
Don't crush the heart that bleeds
Take me at my word
It may sound absurd
I want you
Incredible lyricist
We saw you in Olympia last year - amazing show!
I was at that show too it was so great!
We drove up from Vancouver BC to see the documentary the night before and then see them perform. Such a good road trip.

I'm pretty sure they like it its just Blake can barely sing it I think
Definatle add a second guitarist to do lead melodies. Just sayin
Honestly, the bass player is filling up that space just fine.

Not best crowd there
Most of the people in this crowd are pushing 40 and balding, you can't expect too much in the way of thrashing about.
