In todays video we're going to explore certain characteristics of the Thrash Metal genre, common characteristics and traits that are connected to thrash metal. This list should of course not be taken 100 percent serious, but I think that these 100 rules portrays some of the characteristics, mannerisms, ideas and attributes that are associated with the Thrash Metal genre. So let's have some fun!

That awkward moment when you actually like St. Anger. I like they went back to thrash roots. Some may argue it's not a thrash album (no guitar solos also in this list), but after having having to suffer the horror that is I Disappear from the MI soundtrack, I'm glad they got away from crap like that. I'll gladly listen to St. Anger over Load/Reload/Black album any day.
But yeah I laughed as well. I understand the hate. It does sound like crap after all. But at least they got some speed back.

Thrashers rules
Rule 1. Become a metal elitist and your top of your game.
Rule 2. Hate any other band after the mid 90s
Rule 3. No matter what you do drink beer and eat pizza.
Rule 4. When you go to back yard shows no matter who plays, just be unimpressed with your arm crossed
Rule 5. Always pregame at the parking lot, to the point you don’t even remember what band are you going to see.
Rule 6. Wear a battle vest. The more patches the more cooler you are than others.
Rule 7. Hit/flirt on at every girl at any show even if their taken.
Rule 8. Always be entitled to your music opinions even if they’re not facts
Rule 9. Support underground bands even if they don’t play
Rule 10. Hate on any band who become successful out of the underground and call them sell outs.
Rule 11. If it ain’t metal, it sucks

#69 Motorhead is not Thrash but, they certainly influenced a lot of Thrash metal bands, "Kill Em All" definitely is a album influenced by Motorhead, you can tell Lars is definitely influenced by Philthy Phil, & James by Lenmy.🤘🏽✊🏾🎸🍻💀

In the 90s I listened to Death Metal not just thrash, I didn't want to make it look like I was living in 80's during the 90's

I think Venom was the first thrash band. Also grunge killed glam more than it did thrash. Death metal took over in the 90s.
i agree with you, i cannot see how Grunge could have appealed to most metalheads, there is no link between those two kind of music. Grunge just took away the media spotlight from Thrash but not their fans
I agree. The Big Four (plus Testament) have released some good albums in the last 2 decades: Christ Illusion, Hardwired to self destruct, For All Kings, The World Needs a Hero, The System Has Failed, Endgame, Dystopia, Titans of Creation, etc.

Do not forget about Metallica’s Death Magnetic and Beyond Magnetic, Anthrax’s Worship Music, Slayer’s World Painted Blood, and Megadeth’s United Abominations, as well as the stuff Exodus, Overkill, and Death Angel have been putting out since then.

@@RuthlessMetalYT there was Big Four that existed before the Big Four of Thrash. It's the Big Four of the British Invasion. The Big Four of The British Invasion are The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Kinks. I'm a huge fan of the 60s music scene. The 60s changed a lot in music like the 80s did. The 70s and 90s were decent, but they're not as awesome as the 60s and 80s were. And The Kinks totally the Number 4 spot for British Invasion bands more than Anthrax being apart of the Big Four of Thrash. Sepultura is a part of my Big Four. I get that Metallica gets a lot of hate, but I don't really care. What makes they high on my list is Kill Em All and Ride the Lighting. Loves these albums to death that they're both in my top 10 for rock/metal albums of all time. Megadeth is really awesome too. Dave Mustaine is a guitar god. Their discography is more consistent than Slayer in my opinion, although Slayer is awesome too. Their 80s albums are really awesome. The 90s wasn't that kind to them, but Seasons in the Abyss is excellent. The rest is pretty solid. Sepultura is one of my other favorite metal bands too. My top 3 albums from them are Beneath the Remains, Arise, and Chaos AD. These 3 albums alone makes them an excellent band. They did struggle after Max left, but they did bounce back, and with their most recent album being so good, it looks like they're back in the game. Sepultura hasn't replaced Slayer because they're already in my Big Four. Slayer's replacement is Sodom.
Forgot to say that Sodom replaces Slayer in the Current Big Four of Thrash because Slayer broke up in 2019. So currently, my Big Four Bands that are still around are Metallica, Megadeth, Sepultura and Sodom.
@@takodabostwick8507 Sodom is already in Teutonic Big4 maybe you can replace Testament or Exodus with Slayer however i dont really think you can do that if you want to do so you also have to replace Metallica because everyone agrees they strayed from the path of thrash at some point but they are a still a member of Big4
@@MJ-el8ei Overkill then for American Thrash. Overkill are legends and kind of underrated in my opinion. And they're still killing it. They have the most albums of any thrash band too. And with Metallica, Kill Em All and Ride the Lighting are so good, that even the low points don't take down these 2 high points in my opinion.

Cliff Burton! Yes! I will never forget Cliff playing Anesthesia Pulling teeth in front of us, 15th Jan 1985... after having waited 2+ hours in - 15C (yes... minus 15...) to get album signed and then another 2 hours in line to be able to get front row center for the venue... Priceless.
And yeah, totally respect tape trading!

WIll never forget seeing them Jan 15th 1985, skipping school and having waited 2 hours by - 15oC to get my album autographed then another 2 hours to be able to enter amongst the first and be front row center in the venue they were playing. I love these, but disagree with 97 here. Sepultura are on a 3 album run that meets (exceeds in my opinion) the classic run of Beneath, Arise, Chaos. What Eloy Casagrande has given them is insane and Andreas is writing the best music of his career !!!
Nah, Sepultura hasn't done anything decent since Beneath. :) I've listened to the last 2-3 records and some of those 90s records, they are slightly becoming better but still not really worth my time in my opinion, but. :)

Great rule. Wholeheartedly agree, doesn't matter if you initially suck ass, you're going to write some mediocre/shit music at the start but it's ok, you'll eventually develop and evolve. This is the only way to keep metal alive 🍻😎
