fun fact: One common reason used for why vampires don't see a reflection in the story because of the silver content in the mirrors during the time of the original stories. Not because they don't have one.
thanks for saying this; also no idea why he thinks its like a "fact" that vampires don't have a reflection. maybe he should check some other "lore", like World of Darkness Vampire etc on which the famed Vampire: Bloodlines was based on. I played a lot of Vampire as a pen&paper rpg back in the day and Vampyr actually succeeds in making me feel like I was back playing the p&p version. If you roleplay along a bit for yourself you can explain the world in a way that it doesn't "break the veil".
the vampire hunters in the streets for example are not inhabitants of the respective districts so they don't matter to the district "surviving". sure the fact that they respawn endlessly is typical video game logic and basically service to all those players who skip the dialouge to jump to the next fight scene.
I love vampire lore but twilight sorta ruined it in the mainstream in my opinion. Vampyr on the other hand DOES IT RIGHT and makes me feel like there's a chance for vampires to make a comeback. I would love it.

I love the game, but there´s one thing that bothers me: The skals and npcs. Why is it, that every npc can room the streets of london without encountering those things, but when I walk around town they seem to smell me from miles away.

They encounter them but they thing they are just people who've gone mad. In other cases people are quarantined and only Johnathan is free to walk around because he is a doctor. It's mentioned several times.

The character Lady Ashbury feeds on when Jonathan discovers her is called Renfield. She also has a signed copy of Dracula - I'm sure there are other connections, but I haven't finished the game yet, I started it this weekend.
Anyone else love this game though?! I've never played a game quite like this one. The world, design, and overall aesthetic was perfect. I really felt like I was in this time period while playing it -- the music especially is perfect, it's really immersive. Choice games definitely are not for everyone though.

When you secretly listen in on a conversion it is called "eavesdropping" though I understand why you might think it should be "ease dropping". The term comes from the notion of hiding on the edge of a roof (the eaves) when listening in but we don't talk about eaves much anymore.

Despite these inconsistencies, it's still a really good game. The point of learning more about the characters is to grow closer to them and think of them more as people who you have to protect as a doctor. I found a lot of the time needed to learn more about the different characters gave me reasons to want to protect them rather than see them as a source of food. I felt more obligated to protect them instead of judge their fate myself.

I can't be the only one who loved this game, it's so different. One thing i really don't like is how you skip dialogue. When you do it, if it is a long dialogue, you only see the first part, the rest is lost. That forces you to listen everything and makes the game way longer than it should be.
I really enjoyed it too. It has plenty of flaws and wasted potential but it was pretty fun all in all

I enjoyed this game and because of the choice factor makes it fun for replaying.
Considering it's basically an industry game, it's one of my favorite games tbh.

I don't blame him, the game is boring with overly long and mind numbing dialogue of course he didn't bother paying to much attention at this point. I'm honestly surprised he got through it all without losing his sanity. Its clear he didn't like the game at all
@RCYeah, I've been playing this game for a little while and I remember that during the reveal cutscene that she is now a vampire, she mentions that she went to some of the worst places in London looking for him, hoping to find him alive and have him comfort her.
She did say she visited some morgues as well, so she did keep the option that he was really dead in her mind, but when she was out searching she kept out hope that he was still alive. She probably expected him to be helping out the sick in some of the places she was visiting, so maybe that was the reason she was at the docks that night.

MARY *DID* DRINK JONATHAN'S BLOOD. Rewatch the scene where Jonathan kills her and you'll see that he holds her face against his neck where he was bleeding at the time. When he puts her back down, you can even see the blood on her mouth.
People nowadays just can't appreciate dialogue-heavier games like they used to, it seems. If you seriously think this game is the biggest dissappointment of 2018, clearly you've never heard of people eating tidepods.

Honestly I like the game and the long conversations because that’s what should have been expected from a game based on classic vampires therefore like a classic book would be lore filled and Shakespearean like in the way they talk

Contrary to their claim that it is not as simple as just biting someone, *just* biting someone has never turned a person into a vampire. There has always been a blood-drinking aspect to it. So they are right but for the wrong reasons.

Considering the time period, the females complaints were not simply virtue signals, these were actual issues at the time, and there is a reason as to why Redgrave is distrustful of women, as explained near the end of the game.

In 1918 in the UK, all men 21 and over were granted the vote (previously you needed to own property), and property-owing women over 30 could vote. It wasn't until 1928 that the property requirement for women was dropped, and the voting age of women was the same as men. Up to 1928, it was a big political issue, in particular in the UK...to ignore it would itself be misleading, and strange.
Note that the fight for the vote actually got violent. Google ‘Suffragette Outrages’. Even Winston Churchill was attacked by Theresa Garnett with a horsewhip, protesting the lack of the vote (and his role in ordering the policy of force-feeding hunger-striking suffragette prisoners), in 1909.

Both Vampyr and Plague Tale drew me in with great characters, a story that hid itself well like a good murder mystery, and were set in amazing locations with some of the darkest and depressing environments to date. The only reason I end my play sessions with them is the need for warmth and sunlight.

No it wasn't. It literally made no sense at all. As shown more than once in the game (assuming the player makes the choice), a person must DRINK a vampire's blood, something she couldn't possibly have done given she was dead. The other issue is that his blood that she "drank" would have been his human blood considering he was not a vampire when he was attacked. So under no circumstance, from any perspective, should she had turned.

What the minority of you seem to not get is that potency would have nothing at all to do with the process of transformation. Regardless of how potent the fuel, the only way for an engine to make use of it is if it possesses said fuel. In this case, the process involves literally drinking the potential sire's blood and not merely getting it in your mouth. Not one thing in this game has ever even remotely suggested that just getting the blood in your mouth would be enough. In fact, the opposite, literally someone sired by a person sired by Merlin said it was impossible to make a vampire by accident. What's truly impressive here is how your reply to me didn't address any of these issues that I presented explaining why his blood's potency would be irrelevant. Lol, disregards normal rules? Hahaha, nice head cannon.

It was literally the complete opposite as she scoffed at the idea of anyone turning someone else into a vampire by accident.
On a side note, I hope you never stopped trying to hone your craft. Just watched your version of Galway Girl and admittedly, while not my preferred genre of music, I enjoyed it. Thought it was crazy how you switched languages too and you had said that you hadn't spoken that language in over 4 years at that time. Anyway, sorry to get off topic, but that wasn't bad so I hope you haven't stopped.
I loved this game so much. The story and dialogue and characters are right up my alley as a role player and I really found myself sucked into the game for hours at a time. And the difficulty morality system was really interesting. My first game I played a no kill round and the game was so difficult that I so often found myself desperate to kill at least the evil citizens but for the sake of my own RPG I never did. Sure the ending was a little over long but I cared more about the journey of the game.

And also seems to have come to some odd misunderstanding about the game and the world therein.
I guess most people expected a serious action RPG with a focus on combat and a good measure of power fantasy. What we got was more like an intellectual version of Sharknado with vampires and I can appreciate it for that.

The game was good the only thing wrong was no post game content and the abrupt ending , and also the unraveling of finding the vampire that turned you , the vampire made of blood was whack
And this is why we don't over hype games. Even if it's good, you are going to be disappointed. Expect the worse, hope for the best.

I am a PERSON Don't get me wrong, some games do reach the hype levels of quality (RDR, TLOU, Uncharted Series, etc) but the bulk of gaming today involves everyone thinking a certain game to be perfect, then it releases, then everyone saying it is crappy because it didn't reach THEIR levels of quality, even though the game might actually being good. TL;DR: Don't expect a game to be the best, proceed on any game with caution. Wait for reviews from TH-camrs, not "professional" critics.

No no no the boss fight with Mary is acceptable. It's a difficulty spike sure but it's not anything that is gimmicky or just plain cheap...unlike that goddamn vampire hunter wannabe bastard...I may have an issue here.
You can parry the irishman. Or unload your entire ammo stockpile into him. Or use the fast version of claw, since it doens't allow enemies to unstagger at 0.5 seconds cooldown

@@ladyarmourlapras Yeah try it on hard then say Mary is slow, She picks up speed like anything at the start she is really slow you need to dash to avoid her attacks once when she has 1 health bar left on hard you need to constantly be in dash to evade her attacks and you get 1/4,000,000th of a second to nab her also you have exploding roses everywhere and i mean COATING the entire playing field! plus on hard she has some type of shield on the front of her stopping you from combo's you have to literally wait until she is VOMITING before you can harm her!

It doesn't bode well when the game makes one side with the villain. The Spanish Flu was no joke and now it's turning people into blood sucking monsters and most of them can't control themselves. What the villain is doing is called quarantining. The class issue aside, trying to stave off the infection by a wall doesn't seem like that bad of an idea, especially since that's about as good of an understanding of how to handle infections as people had at the time.
But then again, this is the game that made a large part of its plot about how unfair the vampatriarchy is so whatever.

They’re made to be villains, but if ONE scientist with no evidence or proof asked you to evacuate the country and NO OTHER scientists backed him up, I wouldn’t blame them for ignoring him.
Transhumanist Gamer the overt political drivel aside, the villain's plan wouldn't really work to begin with. He's building a wall to keep out people sickened by the Spanish flu, but the flu is turning people into vampires.
I'm pretty sure vampires, with their teleportation, increased stamina, super strength, incredible agility, and mind control powers can easily find a way through that wall. Not to mention the fact that the city has numerous underground tunnels that can be used to circumvent the wall.
This is what happens when you try taking a jab at modern day politics without thinking about it first.
To be fair, with all their stamina and magic, the Vampires seem to find the likes of a small wall, gate or obstacle fucking impenetrable.

The amount of misinformation in this video & in the comments is hilarious. The game has a lot of flaws since it was was a budget game compared to most if not all AAA title, since, well, it was not a triple A game to behin with. But it is hilarious to see both the video & the comments pointing out X & Y when some of them are straith up false or lies, others are just things that have basically been said in the game, with both points of the argument (the wall example for instance). If people actually played the damn game instead of copy pasting comments they've seen somewhere else, you would actually see how idiotic most people in this comment section. In the video, OP says that he's seen in the mirror and that he shouldnt. How would you know that ? At which point have we decided what interpretation of vampires we have in this game ? Are the vampires in the game like those in the movie Van Helsing ? Or those like in Twilight ? Or some other form ? I didn't know that if you made a vampire story, you HAD TO have vampires that do not reflect in mirrors ... It's like complaining in a game with dragons about the color of the dragons, why are they blue and not exclusively red ? Same with the sun burn thing, you can clearly see that he's staying in the shadows in the next section, but OP doesn't mention that, he also doesn't mention that literally a few minutes later he holes himself up inside an abandoned house because it's getting more and more sunny. I get the point of these types of videos, but I would have at least appreciated FACTS instead of simple opinions about colors and straight up misinformation. Some of these "sins" are straight up made up so that the number at the end is higher. There are facts that could have been put into this video that you didn't, and there many that you put that you shouldnt have. I would love to see someone point out all the false things said in the video. And as always people, don't be simple sheeps. If you are that scared of buying the game, then wait for a big sale, or ask a friend who bought it to share it with you, or simply pirate it and test it out for yourself if you like it and support the devs if you did, a lot of people actually do that. Make your own opinions, don't blindly follow others.

I think that was a jab at the game having three titles. Vampire *dry heave* The Masquerade *dry heave* Bloodlines. Still falls short of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands Fallen Ghosts.

It’s strange how many people don’t like this game. It absolutely grabbed me,the story the characters,idk. The whole thing felt like a 8.5/10 game that was severely underrated
Most people loved this game. This guy just does this for views. He probably liked the game. He does this for fun. The game actually sold over 2 million copies and 8 million have played it on the other gaming sites. That's a lot for a AA game. I actually played it myself when it came in the PlayStation Plus gaming catalog about two years ago. I played it again just a few days ago. It's getting close to Halloween. I like this type of crap this time of year...lol!

I loved this video. I thought it was very funny however I really loved the game. I liked it enough to play through 3 times. (One white knight (kill no xp npcs), one black knight (kill all xp npc's), and one as Dexter (kill the really bad people))
Even though I liked the game enough to play through 3 times, I still agree with much of what was said in this video. The last point was wrong though. The blood from William for the potion was pure, taken from William before he was infected with the blood of hate. Your character is not infected. The blood from the vial in the Ascalon Club was taken prior to William getting infected, and William made Lady Ashbury after he got infected.
William was not infected with the blood of hate until he fought the Red Goddess and got infected during the fight. He went into self imposed exile and disappeared from the world. it was during this time that he turned the woman who would become Lady Blackcroft, a crazy murdering psycho, so William spent the remainder of his life trying to find a cure for her and it partially worked. She became a carrier for the blood of hate instead of being affected by it, and rebranded herself as Lady Ashbury and spent the rest of her life to this point atoning for her crimes against humanity.
Johnathan didn't get infected during his fight with the Red Goddess and the blood from William he drank was from before he was infected so Johnathan has never been exposed to the blood of hate, therefore he is not infected. Thus the final claim in the video is false and not a sin.
BTW: You learn this by BOTH the notes AND the conversations at the endgame, so the real sin is that the creator of the video actually didn't pay attention to the story at the end. And if he didn't pay attention to the story at the end, there is no reason to think he paid attention at any point in the game (since the end is usually the most important point to pay attention) the entire video is a fail really. But I still liked it.

You turn your sister just by biting her yet the hunter who drinks King's Arthur blood didn't turn despite Arthur also being vampire... And about William Marshall blood I think they explained it that the blood Reid used was given to the Club before he was corrupted by the blood of hate but not sure on this one. Anyway sins are spot on :)

After watching you stream this, I was fully prepared and anticipating your bitterness about this game, and you delivered it well. You did a really good job. I didn't even remember this much about the game. Also, about Jonathan's sister, apparently he kissed her after he bit her and that's how she turned. I didn't remember/notice it either, but someone in the stream's chat mentioned it.
Infamous: Festival of Blood was a much better vampire story, and it's just a DLC that you can buy for a fraction of the price of this entire game.

It's actually a good game. Not everything has to be high octane, fast paced shoot shoot bang bang, die, more shoot shoot bang bang, die.. The story makes you wish they made a movie or series based on this. As for the typical vampire stuff like reflection not being applied, it's refreshing to have a different type of vampire and not just a copy and paste idea from Bram Stoker. Overall, the game is great considering the developer's budget. It's unique in many ways and doesn't feel like something you played before. Could it have been better? Of course. Fast travel system would be great, as well as character creation. One thing that really got to me as time went by was the lack of movement and life in the world. Even though there's an infection and vampires everywhere, you feel like you are alone way too often, especially in hostile districts

The amount of misinformation in this video & in the comments is hilarious. The game has a lot of flaws since it was was a budget game compared to most if not all AAA title, since, well, it was not a triple A game to behin with. But it is hilarious to see both the video & the comments pointing out X & Y when some of them are straith up false or lies, others are just things that have basically been said in the game, with both points of the argument (the wall example for instance). If people actually played the damn game instead of copy pasting comments they've seen somewhere else, you would actually see how idiotic most people in this comment section. In the video, OP says that he's seen in the mirror and that he shouldnt. How would you know that ? At which point have we decided what interpretation of vampires we have in this game ? Are the vampires in the game like those in the movie Van Helsing ? Or those like in Twilight ? Or some other form ? I didn't know that if you made a vampire story, you HAD TO have vampires that do not reflect in mirrors ... It's like complaining in a game with dragons about the color of the dragons, why are they blue and not exclusively red ? Same with the sun burn thing, you can clearly see that he's staying in the shadows in the next section, but OP doesn't mention that, he also doesn't mention that literally a few minutes later he holes himself up inside an abandoned house because it's getting more and more sunny. I get the point of these types of videos, but I would have at least appreciated FACTS instead of simple opinions about colors and straight up misinformation. Some of these "sins" are straight up made up so that the number at the end is higher. There are facts that could have been put into this video that you didn't, and there many that you put that you shouldnt have. I would love to see someone point out all the false things said in the video. And as always people, don't be simple sheeps. If you are that scared of buying the game, then wait for a big sale, or ask a friend who bought it to share it with you, or simply pirate it and test it out for yourself if you like it and support the devs if you did, a lot of people actually do that. Make your own opinions, don't blindly follow others. Since most of the points said in the video is straigh up false or things that you actually discover the truth of until much later in the game due to it being important in the story (believe me, there was much more than one instance said in the video, and it shows that OP stopped playing rather early, but I don't blame him if he didn't like it), I can answer all of the questions people might have about things said in the video. Ask away and I shall answer, beware that some things are spoilers (more like twists), that you're supposed to discover much later in the game, and might ruin the surprise for you (Such as everything related to William Bishop, which again brings me to the point that everything said about that in the video was falsely claimed, without knowledge of how it would turn out later in the game).

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one who was all "wtf" at Mary being a vampire. That part and boss fight was pretty lame and the "I killed her twice" bit was rather hamfisted. I did enjoy the game for what it was for one playthrough, but I agree it was a letdown and the climax was absurdly underwhelming. Most of these sins were also spot on. Well done!

I actually enjoyed it. Had a weird story that could go any different number of ways with the classes the way you played and the endings. The combat at first felt weird but I soon got used to it. The class system was amazing I was able to build a character that could go invisible to sneak past enemies and if I was detected or needed a stealth kill also had a attack where I could do both instantly which was sweet.
However I think it was disorganized and rushed to get out though a lot of things could have been improved and tweaked but its not like its unplayable much less horrible. I definitely have it in my top 10 greatest. Would love a revised version of it. Sadly I don't think we will ever see it since it had such critical reviews and flopped :(

This is one of my favorite videos by Dartigan because he actually emits emotion in this, i hope he does so more often in future videos.
Like Cinemasins, the issue with these videos is simply the person isn't paying attention to the narrative, as he is watching the movie/playing the game to find perceived mistakes and then considering how he can turn said mistake into a funny joke.
Many of these sins are you not listening to conversations fully, or even at all. As someone who has only ever played the game once I can recognise many mistakes when in the exact same conversation it's fully explained.

In every conversation, its divided into 2-3 textboxes(if you enable them). Hitting X skips textbook 2 and the rare textbook 3.
Half the reason why its possible to play Mass Effect or KOTOR at a decent pace is because you can read and mash trough most of the text, at a decent pace, and then really enjoy all the cutscene animations you can't skip. In Vampyr everything turns to jibberish you attempt the same, due the fact it has multiple textboxes skipped per interaction.

I actually love all the non-shiny vampires I can get my hands on in games, movies and TV series.
But I actually couldn't get past chapter 1 in this game, even though I was delighted of its take on vampirism, with how they can use blood magic and have their internal politics.
I like taking the copletionist route in games like these. So finish any side quests I can find, exhaust all the dialogue options... stuff like that. But boy, did I bite off more than I can chew with the latter.
